  1. I just checked it and boy, you'e not kidding! The first three pages of the DA3 forum contain thread topics such as: Dear Bioware, I want a Qunari woman in my bed. Click to hug / Click to kiss ? The F/F Romance thread: what do you want to see in the female love interest(s) for DA3's female protagonist? Female Kossith for companion and LI Different bodies different undergarments!!!!!! Cullen as a M/M romance? F/M romance Thread [suggestion] Romance without the Romance. Cassandra's too Manly to be a Companion.. Weddings? I really, REALLY don't want that to happen over here. :D
  2. Thanks for typing up my exact thoughts so I can type less. :D I think Torment was one of the very few games that've done romance right, i.e. in a believable and tasteful manner. If the Obsidian guys can pull something like that off, then I'm all for it. I'm just worried that they might go (or feel pressured by a vocal subset of the fanbase to go) in the Bioware-style shallow dating sim direction. I.e. choose a few "correct" conversation options --> have sex --> profit.
  3. I'm 28. My favourite games are Torment (if I had to choose one, this would be it), the BG series, Albion, Bloodlines, Arcanum, the Witcher series, Morrowind, the Might & Magic series and you get the idea.
  4. 1. I'd say anything that takes more than 10 hours to complete at a normal pace. 2. The players would need some incentive to go into said dungeon. Other than that, it would be incredibly brilliant if the dungeon could have its own ecosystem (I believe one of the prior posters already suggested this) à la Ultima Underworld - i.e. if the denizens lived their own lives and the dungeon actually changed in time. A world within a world, if you will. I realize this is unrealistic, of course. 3. Of course not. However, I believe you guys will end up making so much money off the Kickstarter, you can probably afford to divert some resources to developing a bad-ass dungeon. 4. Stretch goal, sure. Anything to squeeze more money out of us is fair game.
  5. All right, you got me! I upped my pledge by more than would have been reasonable, I guess the bills can wait... Minttunator, Inquisitor of the Obsidian Order
  6. The soundtrack is one of the most important parts of the game for me - and it's something you can enjoy even when you are done with the game itself. I still listen to the soundtracks of the old Might & Magic games, for example. That said, I'm sure whoever Obsidian chooses will be up to the task - I'll be happy as long as it's not Jeremy Soule. Don't get me wrong, I think Jeremy Soule is awesome, but I've heard just too much of his stuff lately.
  7. I'm fine with romances, as long as they cover wildly different directions from virginal girl next door to crazy up against the wall let's have it on right here.
  8. Good question! I'm not a fan of Vancian casting as I find it too limiting - I'm not exactly a fan of a mana pool system either, but I guess that would be the lesser of two evils in this case. There does need to be a finite resource, so managing said resource would be a part of the challenge - otherwise magic just comes down to spamming (anyone that's currently playing TSW knows what I'm talking about).
  9. This is awesome! DRM-free is the way of the future, thanks for listening and props to the awesome dudes at GOG for cooperating!
  10. Chris Avellone was the name that caused me to look into Project Eternity, since he was the lead developer of the greatest game ever made (yeah, Torment).
  11. I think the romances should have wildly different directions from virginal girl next door to crazy up against the wall let's have it on right here. Why isn't that an option? Seriously, though, I think I like the Torment approach most, i.e. there were some hints but no real romance as such. Guess that means "none of the above" in this case - most of the romances I've seen in games are just not very good. The NPCs always tend to either be super whiny (Aerie, Jaheira) or act like choleric teenagers (Viconia, Morrigan).
  12. Thanks for giving us old-school RPG fans hope for a decent game! In addition, this is a great opportunity to show that there is still a market for intelligent, complex games.
