  1. That's the way we initially had it set up. We found that the FOOOM sound and the music conflicted so the decision was made to fade the music out. There's a script on each "soul" conversation that mutes the music and the ambient audio so as to focus the listener on the soul vision thing. The only way to get rid of that change is for someone to manually remove the script from all the soul conversations, maybe someone would be willing to mod the game?
  2. Sure thing. I made a sheet (html and pdf format) that shows how the old soundtrack maps to the new one. I also exported the tags using mp3 tag. You can download it here: http://media.obsidian.net/eternity/media/audio/pe-soundtrack-map-and-tags.zip
  3. Hmmm. Pretty sure we can't guarantee anything with Unity 5. You're on your own with that unfortunately. You're better off staying with 4. As for oggs, they can be higher sample rate if you want. We used 32kHz for memory/disk space reasons.
  4. Right I understand now. We don't use loop points no, just end to beginning. You can assign combat music per scene, which is very easy to do. Doing it per encounter is a bit trickier, though still easy. I'm pretty sure I can just tell you which files to edit, but I need to ask Adam first how we're going to handle mod requests like this. Stay tuned, I'll get back to you in a few days.
  5. The system that's in there is as simple as it gets, so I'm sure it can be expanded. Guess it depends what you have in mind?
  6. I suggest to send a message to Justin Bell and ask him if it's possible. He responded to someone wanting to replace the combat music in this thread. I suspect the main theme may be locked in but who knows! You should be able to change mus_global_title_theme and that should do it.
  7. I hear you, it's not ideal unfortunately. I could always provide you with a text map and you can do it manually? I hate to have to ask folks to do that, but if re-downloading isn't an option maybe that's a good compromise?
  8. Hey backers! You can download the updated soundtrack from our backer portal. Just re-download the soundtrack if you got one, and it be up to date with tags, track names, track order, and album art. For folks who purchased the game after crowd-funding ended, we are trying to include the updated soundtrack as part of patch 1.03. I'll keep you posted once I know more, so hang tight!
  9. Darren is updating the backer portal now, but it'll take a few hours for the server cache's to update. I'll post again when everything is good to go.
  10. I'll check about the backer portal sites as well. Hang tight!
  11. Quick update. I've added proper track names, a track order, metadata/tags, and album art to the soundtrack. Brandon is working on getting the updated files sent out to the various digital distributors. It may take a couple more days to get fully sorted out, I'll try to update you as I find out more. And as a thank you for your patience, I also included in three additional *bonus* tracks from the game...
  12. Definitely agree with this point. One of my regrets for this project for sure. We've discussed solutions but they are pretty risky to try right now. We'll continue to investigate though.
  13. I like that one a lot too. It has a sister track somewhere else in the game, I wonder if anyone has noticed?
  14. Wow, thank you for everything you all have said. I mean that sincerely, words cannot express my gratitude. I feel lucky to have had an opportunity to work on this project with this insanely talented and passionate team. Thanks for trusting us.
  15. Hi Gairnulf, Yes there are area themes that aren't in the downloadable soundtrack. Working on the mp3 metadata now. Some other bugs came up that I have to address soon, but this is at the top of my list today.
  16. Thank you very much for saying this. I remember those days very well. Not going to lie, it was hard to hear, but I'm happy I've redeemed myself (at least to some of you). I worked my tail off to make sure it's as good as it can be given the timeframe and volume of work. But yeah, taking criticism is part of the job. No one likes to hear it, but you gotta grow thick skin in this industry. And at the end of the day we want you guys to enjoy yourselves, because this game is for you!
  17. It really came down to time. The audio effort for Eternity was massive, especially toward the end. It ended up being an important item on a list with many other equally important items, which is why proper names and track numbers didn't make it. Though I do recognize how important this is to everyone, and we will get it resolved soon. Thanks for your patience, and apologies for the wait. If the soundtrack is not intended to be published/sold separately the tracks might not even have proper names. It seems to be the case with PoE soundtrack, these names look like typical work in progress names. At least that's what I think. Nonetheless, Mr. Bell is looking into this and will post an update - which is a remarkable example of a proper developer-gamer communication Thanks. Yes the current names are functional for the game, but not for a soundtrack.
  18. Thank you for sharing that story! It means a lot.
  19. Hey guys, Thanks for your patience. I'm working with production to figure out how to update the soundtrack. Hopefully tomorrow I can post an update.
  20. As long as you only replace .oggs and you don't delete them its fine. The folder and file structure, and the names, all have to remain intact or you will create problems with the music system.
  21. Means a lot to hear you say that, thank you for being so frank about this!
  22. Any time, we want you to enjoy the game! There have been games where I wanted to do the same thing but couldn't. Far Cry 3 I think it was, though I don't remember why.
  23. Ok I'll revive the dead part Just need some camping supplies and...
