  1. But video don't show that did he hit actually anything and or even what and how far he shoots. But it shows that his barrel moves which means that at least all bullets didn't hit in target if it wasn't very close.

  3. I disagree that he hit only 1 in 5 at that distance. But whatever. Clearly they shoot it with intent and a good measure of control and precision, people don't just get suppressed with sound. If someone appeared in that Navy Seal guy's vision in those jungle I'm pretty sure he'd hit him. In jungle or forrest you most time shoot under 20 m, as you don't actually see any futher if you don't happen to be some sort of clearing. With that sort of distance you don't actually need aim that much to hit human size target, of course enemy combatants are usually behind trees, rocks, etc. that make hitting them harder, which is reason why you want to suppress them until you are in cover too, because longer you stand in open it's more likely that you are dead. Standing and shooting or walking/running and shooting happens usually only first few seconds of encounter with enemy or if you are trying to storm in building or advance to better position, because standing in fire fight puts you in unfavourable position as you are quite easy to hit.
  4. No, I think he hit plenty. If that video isn't good enough for you here is a Navy Seal video. Professional soldiers do shoot machineguns standing. (1:50, 2:34, etc) You can shoot from standing postion with machine gun, but you hit maybe 2 from 10 shots in 1 m diameter target from 50m, and from 100m and futher you probably don't even hit target once. In first video they seemed to practice support fire for advancement, where most important thing is to get lots of bullets to air so that enemy has something else to do than shoot your squad (meaning staying in cover). And I can say that women can give support fire with PKM (which was used in first video) in same as men, as it don't reguire that much strength and you do it only until your squad is in cover.

  6. You can't shoot machinegun from standing position so that you can hit reliably to anything, because it kick back is so strong that nobody can control it, especially on full auto. And when you shoot it from mount as one should always do actually need much less strength than assault rifle to shoot.
  7. Really? I didn't know this was possible. Yup, you get better level sculpting powers when you get 5000 and 7000 followers. Which is reason why it think it should be easier to get in bronze age, so that you get better houses faster.
  8. I think that they start sculpting level too low. Because when you get all sculpting god powers that they have in beta sculpting becomes much faster and easier as you can move ten levels of terrain at same time. What I most dislike currently is digging, because it need dozens of clicks to get through several levels of terrain which is just annoying as you need dig up those resource chests. Another thing that is bit frustrating is how fast your followers die when they are exploring if you don't have totem up, which of course is emphasized by all the bugs that currently obsess totem system (like pathfinding bugs, totem disappearing when you go in multiplayer, story mode or restart the game). But overall I have enjoyed my time with beta. Hopeful this weeks content patch make it possible to get bronze age without dozens multiplayer matches (multiplayer is fun but currently there is too few players, especially as you can only play with your friends in steam) and fixes some of those pathfinding bugs.
  9. Hey look, we are all aware that gamers are sick to the back teeth of PC bull****. That does not preclude a reasoned debate on the matter. I agree and I want to raise another point. Lets say for argument sake people that are pushing feminist ideas or equality have permeated the gaming scene with there ideals of fairness. What negative impact has this had to your personal gaming experience? For starters it ruined many fantasy settings with the stupid insistence on gender equality where it made completely no sense. Okay can you give some examples please I didn't realize that fantasy was the domain of male characters only? Try any pseudo-medieval setting. You cannot have such society undergo the cliché war/plague/famine story and still pretend that modern notions of freedom/equality was an option. Of course you can, that is why it is called fantasy and not historic, pseudo historic or alternatice historic. Fantasy universum give their writers ability to explore different kinds of societies than we have or have had in out world or mix idelogies and cultural models from our societies to make new societies. So it is one of core tendencies of fantasy writing to bring modern view points in settings that otherwise feel historic, because it gives you more freedom to do what you want in your world and it helps readers to identify with your characters.

  11. 5 million sold games should mean that game brings at least 100 million dollars for publisher ($20 per sold copy). I am bit sceptic that every game that EA produces cost hundred million dollars to make and advertise.
  12. If you want to be more accurate then viewing point that game uses is bird's eye view and backgrounds are rendered in isometric (or some other axonometric) projection, so that everyting in screen looks like it stays in same distance from you when view screen moves. Similar to IE games.
  13. I read them if they are good, I read one if I like it I read others and if in some point of play through it starts to feel more like chore than something that I enjoy to do then I usually stop reading them.
  14. Don't be so chauvinistic. If in Christian Europe female warriors can't be (and women's armor can't be also) it's not mean what in entire world cant be such things. But that first picture which you post was part of Hindu goddess sculpture from 18th or 19th century and no human have ever weared it and it was not desinged to be armour only actually present goddess breasts in piece of art. I though you would like to know actual purpose of that breast plate as you were so keen to point out unfairness of saying that eastern armor looks like wizards armor. And saying that Indians used brass armors in combat in 18th or 19th centuries is quite unfair claim.

  16. At least they say that they are developing different UI for PC that uses PCs strengths instead of trying to bend one UI to work both PC and consoles. Which gives me some hope that PC ui will not be as gruesome as DA2's ui is.

  18. Yes, every member of your party had ability to contribute in conversations. And NPCs even had some unique lines that you could use in some conversations for better or worse .

  21. Excellent and informative update, so thanks for it. Conversation UI has right vibe in its look, meaning that it looks IEish and text is easy to read and answer options have enough room and are easy to figure out. There is quite much free space, but in my opinion it makes UI look more balanced and not too thickly fitted. Color palette is quite dark, but in my eye it works even better than more colorful palettes that are popular these days

  23. Combat abilities or their absence don't determine tactical or strategic level of games combat. Combat is tactical if you need sequence of decision in right order to be succesful in it. Abilities give your more options when you make your decisions, but if you always win the combat regardless what options you picked and regardless of order where you picked them, then combat has actually very little of tactical depth in it. This is not case in DA:O, which has quite good tactical depth in its combat, but DA2's combats tactical depth is nearly nonexistent. Strategic combat means that you there is need to think ahead to next possible combat or how you can get out from place where you are without dying. So abilities that you can use in every combat don't add any strategic depth in the game, as from strategic view they are always in place for you to use, but if you have limited uses per rest abilities then they have at least some strategic meaning, because you can't necessary rely on them in the combat. In crpgs one biggest strategic element is you ability to heal wounds between fights. Also ability get new consumables and how much you need to use them is quite big part of strategic depth of crpg combat. So significance of combat abilities to make combat more strategic or tactical depend on how they are realized in the game. In my opinion BG and DA:O are quite equal in that how much tactical and strategic know-how they demand from the player.
  24. There is difference to say that Anders deserved to die because he is queer or to say that Anders deserved to die because he consorted with demons and had demonic spirit inside him. As it tells other about your motivations and world view that can make you look even more deserving to die or to be punished as Anders in their eyes.
