Mace vs. Sabre
If I am not mistaken, maces are Fast weapons, where sabres are normal speed.

Help with picking Paladin Abilities
Thanks for the link. As for focusing in damage, I would say with only 2 per encounter Flames, my damage output will drop drastically after the first couple rounds, which is why I would then just be an off-tank, hence the deflection bonus items/talents. We'll see how effective that is on Hard... Too bad it does not work on ranged weapons... Still, my main weapon will be the pike so I think it is still worth while. As for the Intellect, it is there both for an RP purpose as well as to boost the Zealus focus a bit. Duration will probably not come into play, unless I get Enduring Flames (Though in my experience damage over time stuff never pays off, specially since battles in PoE are so short... Am I wrong to think so?) Bond of Duty sounds way to situational, though I suppose I have room, probably the last one I'd pick though...

Help with picking Paladin Abilities
Hi, I am trying to plan a build for my Paladin and I could use some help picking Abilities (I'm good on Talents, I think). This is going to be an off-tank with Eder as my main tank, so it is more geared towards damage, specially opening batles with a gun and flames of devotion before switching to a pike. Here is what I have so far (The attribute distribution is suboptimal on purpose): Human - Aedyr Mercenary - Goldpact Knights Mig 11 - 15 (4) -> +15% Damage and Healing, +10 Fortitude Con 10 - 10 (0) Dex 10 - 15 (5) -> +15% Action Speed, +10 Reflex Per 10 - 14 (4) -> +12 Interrupt, +4 Deflection, +8 Reflex Int 10 - 12 (2) -> +12% AoE, +10% Duration, +4 Will Res 12 - 12 (0) -> +6 Concentration, +2 Deflection, +4 Will *I'll be trying to pick up any item/talent that gives me +deflection... I hate being squishy (Probably will stick to breastplates). 1 Flames of Devotion 2 Weapon Focus Soldier 3 Zealous Focus - +12 in Accurecy is important since base accuracy is low, can't afford to waste any Flames 4 Intense Flames 5 ? 6 Scion of Flame - I am hoping this stacks with Flames... 7 ? 8 Two-handed Style - Do we know if it also works with guns? 9 ? 10 Superior Deflection 11 ? 12 Deep Faith Any thoughts?

Project Eternity and Surface Pro 2
Stupid copy paste... I asked the same question at the Wasteland 2 forums as I'm a backer there too, but I meant to ask about Project Eternity and its capabilities to run in a Surface 2 Pro... Sorry for the confusion...

Crafting vs. Loot
My idea of crafting is: Alchemy (Potions, venom, bombs) - YES!!!! There is never a downside to this... Enchanting (Runes, or otherwise) - Maybe... Smithing - This one is tricky, cause if you can smith the best weapon in the world you automatically ruin loot, which is one of my main gripes with Skyrim...

Little voice-acting = super modding opportunity!
I agree with OP. I would very much like modding tools, this coming from someone that played Neverwinter Nights for years with tons of awesome player made campaign...

Modders Stretch goal?
Yeah me too. It's one of those things that fits for Kickstarter goals. May be they plan to include it in a higher stretch goal, 2.4 pretty please? Quite likely, I assume. It will be one of those things that even if they don't really want to do, the community will demand. And I supposed, being such a dear feafure, it would be smmart, albeit risky, to save it for a high funding goal to piush people to pledge more. Smart, but risky.

How about some luv for the iPad and tablets?
No, no, no and no. Even though I would get BG: EE for ipad if I had one, I would not like Obsidian spending time trying to figure out how the game is going to play in two widely different enviroments. BB exists, the enhanced part is preatty much code cleaning and optimizing. It is a much more focused endevour and it is for that reasonthat I think it can work onthe ipad.

3 races guys? Player housing?
Also, having a thousand races does not make for a believable or enjoyable world. If everyone is different than noone is different... I dislike when developers give each companion a stupid different race and think that is what gives the character personality. So many times have I seen variaty of races as excuse for poor implementation of flavor.

If you're going to go down the [tired] road of fantasy and magic, give us a magic system with incredible breadth!
I like that idea. Using your soul magic to support your choice of class.

3 races guys? Player housing?
Guys, just keep two things in mind: 1- this is not a AAA game! Budget is tight, specially considering the scope of the game. Three to five well fleshed races is more than enougth. Betterthatthan run into the ridiculousness that is Skyrim when no race is recognized and you are called as an inferor race by the Thalmor even when you are a high elf... 2- don't be so quick to dismiss elves and dwarves. They are staples for a reason. A lot of people like playing them. The game is not only for you... Cheers.

Pls, don't stop pledging!
I agree with you a 100%. I am not at all worried that the project will be a sounding success. I am, however, far too familiar with human inertia. Anyway, I was just trying to do my part

Pls, don't stop pledging!
This my be a no-brainer, but if it changes the mind of one backer, it will have been worth... Please, don't let the fact that Obsidian has neared their funding goal so quickly to think they cannot still use your pledge. After all, the overall goal, at least in my opinion, is not only making the game a reality, but making it the best it can be. I would very much like to see Obsidian get the same treatment as InXile did with their Wasteland 2 project and have their final funding be more than 3 times their original goal. So, please, if you think you'll buy the game when it comes out, you might as well pledge now and get an even more awesome experience. If you support this message, please post so, It would be nice if we could keep this topic up until the Kickstarter campaign ends. Thank you.
