  1. At the moment the game is supposed to have a fixed camera and an isometric view. But with more money more is possible... so we will see what happens.
  2. What make you think everyone that likes BG2, likes romances. What makes you think that none of the BG2 fans likes romances?
  3. Well, I like romances and would personally like to have them included. I do not like to imagine that my character is an introverted fap-master or something. I guess a poll would be able to show what the community actually prefers. But if this game does include romances, then they should be very well written imo. And what makes you think that there are not any BG2 fans here?
  4. The thirst meter mechanic in New Vegas worked extremely well imo. It drastically improved the game by improving "atmosphere" and immersion. It also made sense and fit into the scenario, seeing that the game takes place in the desert and that uncontaminated water was somewhat rare. So, should realistic hunger, thirst, fatigue, sleep be included in the game? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the game and setting imo.
  5. Then all you have to do is tell your companions to **** off if you don't like it - or better yet don't even flirt with them at all. Problem solved.
  6. Romances are fantastic if done well. Just look at BG2, absolutely amazing. This wasn't a wham-bam-fest like in ME or DA2, this was extremely well written and emotional romance. It was done so well, that I became really attached to the companion that my character was romancing (Aerie for example). Aerie was pretty good in battle, but not the best... but I just could not bear to kick her out of the group. Romance can actually substantially improve a game if it is done right. It improves the story - and in my opinion a good story is just as important as good gameplay.
  7. The 3-spouted teapot should be a day 1 DLC for 5 dollars, because it is just so awesome.
  8. Seeing that this game is going to be rated R... Awesome Magiks, inspired by BioWare.
  9. If you bring in BioWare then the game would just turn into a super humpfest. BioWare is dead, EA killed this once great studio and is now just milking it's dead corpse for cash.
  10. I would like to see some suggestions, seeing that this seems to be the most popular option atm. So like "anti alcoholic tree dwarves" or "pacifist demonic hell elves" or something? :3
  11. Game with dwarves and elves = 10/10
  12. If this game is going to be a high fantasy game, then it should include dwarves and elves in my opinion. Not having dwarves and elves in a high fantasy game would be like having a game based on greek mythology - but without medusae, Pegasus, cyclops, Zeus and the like. I really like elves and dwarves and all of the lore that surrounds these species. I would really like to have them in the game as playable characters.
  13. It will reach 4 or 5 million MAX. It will probably end at 3 to 4 million though. They would either have to name this game Badlur's Gate III or make some kind of fantastic announcement for it to reach 10 million.
  14. Give us auras, buffs, dispelling, AoE DD, AoE dispelling, etc, etc. YES definitely. I remember while playing my first playthrough of BG2 that I thought that I did not need "dispel magic"... WRONG ^^ For example: You see the Lich. First you buff your team, cast dispell magic on the Lich, debuff the sucker and then wack the hell out him. Heal your tank. Wash, rinse, repeat. Or you would see a group of enemies and stun the extremely powerful enemies (mini boss or something), while you cleaned up the rest of the mob... then you whacked the **** out of the mini boss. ^^ Good times. Goooood times.
  15. 60-80 hours is sufficient. BUT WITHOUT numerous damn fetch quests. God, I hate those... Skyrim has like 150 hours of that crap.
  16. haha, oh wow you do know that standard fantasy fare is a mashup of tolkien's take on norse legends plus each and every myth that's out there? You would expect minotaurs in a fantasy now wouldn't you? they're from greek mythology. ^^ I don't care where the stories of elves and dwarfs originated. That is what I expect and what I like. And I never said anything about minotaurs, only elves and dwarfs. Elves have already been confirmed indirectly - so if you don't like them... well then tough **** I would say.
  17. This is a fantasy game. I expect Dwarfs and Elves. If I play a game based on Greek/Roman Mythology - then I expect Medusae, Cyclops and all that bull****. If I play a game with Undead in it - then I expect Zombies. Etc. etc. etc. And at 2.2 Million we will have 5 PLAYABLE races. That is more than enough. Dwarfs/Elves/Humans/Little ****s with hairy feet/something else - Now that is a good game.
  18. If I don't get this with Elves/Dwarfs/Vampires/Minotaurs etc. Then I am removing my pledge. I also want earl grey, darjeeling, longjing, ceylon, rooibos and rose hip Tea sorts to choose from. I will leave the choice of cake and other goodies up to you. You have been warned Obsidian.... you have been waaaarned.
  19. 1.1 million: three races, five classes, and five companions 2.2 million: five races, seven classes and eight companions (+ LOADS of other content) -> READ the kickstarter page!!!
  20. They are not being secretive about the game at all... They have already told us what we will be getting: A party based game like in Baldur's Gate / Planescape with a fantasy setting similiar to the D&D Forgotten Realms Unisiverse (Baldur's Gate & Icewind Dale). The art-style and graphical representation they choose will depend on how much money they raise with this Kickstarter. Same goes for game mechanics, etc. We will certainly also be getting more info over the next month, so be patient. If you don't like what you are seeing over this period of time, then just remove your pledge. It's that simple.
  21. Good lore is extremely important for any game, especially fantasy games. Just look at Skyrim. While it is a decent game, the fact that there is hardly any lore makes the world feel extremely sterile and undynamic.
  22. I am sure Obsidian that Obsidian will announce stretch goals for more languages after we hit 2.2 Million. It would not be very smart to alienate the European fans, and I am sure that Obsidian knows this. Those want the game in their language will not pledge if there is no localisation. You can be sure that alot of Europeans will even remove their pledge, if their language is not announced at some point. He speaks the truth!
  23. If this game does not have tea partys, then I am ****ing removing my pledge... I am so serious. ^^ Anyways: You are obviously not able to read. 1.1 million: three races, five classes, and five companions 2.2 million: five races, seven classes and eight companions (+ LOADS of other content) Did you expect to have all of that at 1.1 Million? The more we pledge, the more we get! If you do not get it, then I would advise that you avoid Kickstarters in the future. Please, take your $20 and go and troll somewhere else.
  24. Obsidian already has a very talented Composer. The music in the Kickstarter video was excellent, Justin is very talented. Nothing against Yasunori Mitsuda (who is a great composer), but I do not like this JRPG touch in the Music of so many RPGs from Japan. The style that we heard in the Kickstarter video is much, much better imo.
