  1. You can do it with a Dwarf too, it's just that they have a glitch in their run animation atm, so I use the Aumaua just for smoother demonstration
  2. Semi-related to "Best Talents", but not really.
  3. The select all button was in the bottom right of the screen in BG1, BG2 and IWD1 - that's leveraging the muscle memory of the user, which is good interface design. Same with the rest button, it was located in that part of the screen for BG1, but was on the left side of the screen for BG2. Combat log in the middle is the easiest to read on the fly, as you can just flick your eyes down to read the current lines, rather than having to pause the game and move your vision away from the center of focus (the combat). I think Grotesque's mockup looks fantastic but as far as optimal positions of elements and dead space goes - there's still a way to go. Eventually I'll get around to suggesting some improvements, but I'm focused on the actual game at the moment.
  4. I think they were added because someone wanted to have a favored enemy for the Ranger.
  5. I think they said Kaz was going to do a consistency pass on them. I know one or two portraits got touched up a bit (the current female Orlan one, etc), and Steven Dengler's portrait was completely re-done. I think we have the originals saved somewhere.
  6. Ideally regarding AoE art, I like what DotA 2 did Range Finder, plus nice looking AoE. Range line turns red at the point of when you're out of range, and indicates exactly how far you'll have to move to cast (edge of the green and red line) They don't have to go 'full retard' with the patterned see through color though, just changing the line art to look a bit nicer would be fine
  7. Same as BG2 xD Horrible Shapeshifting I don't think they put much thought into it besides - yes you can shapeshift, and yes you will be able to cast spells while shapeshifted. Here was a thread I made making suggestions to improve it http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/69941-druid-spiritshift-is-really-bad-and-needs-to-be-improved/
  8. Facial Hair model #2 for clips into Male Dwarf Head #3 just above the right lip, watch it idle in CC for example Facial Hair #8 has some texture gaps or something, looks strange from front on (there's a few like that, but they look fine from a side angle), and it also has the same issue on Humans too. Male Facial Hair #2 on Humans looks a little janky around the lip area Missing pixels in facial hair 13 The facial hair problems happen on Humans, Dwarves and Orlans, but not Pale Elves, for some reason
  9. Female Hair #5 clips through some armors (will be more noticeable on the higher quality armors with the huge shoulderplate/backplates and stuff Male Hair #7 clip through the back of some armors - also male hair #9, 12, 13, 14, 18 also clip through several armors - most noticeably the default Padded Armor Here's an example of Male Hair #18 with Padded Armor (won't bother with the others, you get the idea) Human Male neck clips through the back of the Male Brigandine armor The Male Default Padded Armor doesn't seem to accommodate for Hair and some Godlike Heads very well, here's a pic of the Death Godlike Male head clipping through the back of it - I'd probably suggest redoing the back of the neck area to accommodate better for stuff like that
  10. Going through the Character Art now, will report any armor clipping issues in here ---------------- Female Hair Model #19 clips through the back of most armors The Fine Breastplate sleeve now has a bug where the female left arm is visible through the sleeve. I think this was previously reported by another backer in the last patch on a Godlike model.
  11. They care about metacritic score and user score and their "Bugsidian" reputation, as well.
  12. OP should be downloading the game as we speak.
  13. 100th bug report for v435 "This character is currently busy" - AI won't let me control my character
  14. I figured out what this line is from This line is pasted into the combat log when you issue a command to a character and the Party AI overrides it/will not let you command your character. This is currently __THE___WORST___ with the ranged character AI, when you click to target a unit, it won't let you target the unit, a targeting reticle does not appear and the line "This character is currently busy" is pasted into the combat log. Expected Result: The player's actions should ALWAYS override the auto-attack AI, and Party AI should only designate new targets after the currently targeted unit has been killed. Currently you cannot override the ranged AI targeting, and often the melee AI will ignore your target too. This bug report is related to this issue here: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70365-435-auto-attack-when-it-should-and-should-not-occur/?hl=%2Bauto+%2Battack
  15. There's also a weird one here where I hit with an enchanted Exceptional Estoc and am getting strange proc damage from my Freezing Lash, whereas the number for the Corrode Lash I enchanted onto a Fine Morningstar are correct, rounded up. 15.1 * 25% = 3.775, rounded up to 3.8 - correct proc damage 55.1 * 25% = 13.775 ... getting 12.8 instead here, damage seems to be reduced by 1 for some reason :S
  16. This is probably related to ushas thread here: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70423-435-several-possible-rounding-issues-armors-damage-health-etc/ However he did not test flat weapon damage against 0 DT, just reported that sometimes damage - DR was not being calculated properly
  17. I have been investigating some strange damage calculation issues based off trying to work out how I was getting strange proc damage from a Freezing Lash on an Enchanted item, keeping in mind that ushas found some weird stuff going on last week. I reverted back to the basest of tests - a 10 Might Character, with a normal weapon, making plain auto-attacks without any modifiers to see if there was something wrong with the base damage calculations. Turns out there appears to be, at least in the combat log. Here is my character, as you can see - 10 Might, no mults. Using an Estoc, to bypass Lion armor for pure damage not reduced by DT There are only certain damage values that can be attained from this build. The damage 'die roll' should only be able to produce results of 14,15,16,17,18,19,20 Grazes can only halve these nubers to 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5 and 10. Crits I think are either *1.25 or *1.5 - I am actually not sure atm. I attacked a Lion and got three grazes. Two of those grazes produced numbers it shouldn't have The first graze produced 9.8 damage - it should be impossible to get 9.8 damage from this scenario ... I can only assume this was supposed to be 9.5 The second graze was as normal - 8.5 damage The third was 9.3, which I assume was probably 9.0, modified somehow I also scored two hits, one for 14.5 damage (yeah, what?) and one for 14.9 damage These numbers should be impossible. So there is something going wrong here. These values start to warp the damage results as more damage mulitpliers and procs are added on, so I tested with this very base setup that should produce clean unmodified numbers, and it appears there is a problem. I can also provide strange results I got with enchanted weapons and procs if need be too.
  18. This might be confusing with procs though (+25% Crushing Lash), so I would label the lashes as a proc or put something in there about them to distinguish the difference, because their maths are completely different to a usual damage bonus. There should be something about them in the encyclopedia tbh.
  19. If anything it would probably look worse (while I think some of the UI elements are tiled, a lot of it probably upscales). For this game, source res is definitely best.
  20. 1. Yes, but it's now a much higher level ability than previous 2. It's annoying and requires you to let the enemy see you before you attack so you get the accuracy bonus on your first hit. Trivializes attacking from Stealth. Otherwise yeah, they can still be a good tank. 3. It's broken at the moment, we won't know until the final backer beta comes out (if they do another one) because they changed how it works. It's not super useful on classes that aren't always dropping consistent damaging attacks. 4. No they don't stack. You can have all of the different auras up at once though. If you want a beta key, PM me and I can buy one for you.
  21. Yeah those changes weren't necessary IMO. Druids were OP but it was more because of their spells having way too much damage, way too long duration, way to wide AoE etc Shapeshifted forms don't even do good damage, or attack quickly - better off using a Quarterstaff.
  22. There will be some gear randomization. For instance in the second level of the Backer Inn in the beta, the items you loot from the chests always change. I also understand that some items will be randomly interchanged between the Stronghold system and somewhere else.
