  1. Less strain on the eyes man. Doesn't make crap all difference on an LCD because they don't work the same. On a CRT it does. The difference is very slight but the higher the refresh rate, the easier on the eyes a CRT screen is. Half the people in their 30s that wear glasses probably ruined them using a PC less than 85Hz or something tbh.
  2. I notice the difference between 120 and 160 (but not as much as I used to when I was younger), so yes
  3. I used to play competitive FPS games and CRT monitors are way better for FPS. Only recently have they been surpassed in visual clarity with the strobing backlight 120Hz LCDs, but they still win on input lag (having pretty much none). I used a 19" CRT for Call of Duty 2, then I got a 24" Sony GDM-FW900 CRT for Dragon Age Origins / CoD4 in 2009. The transformer on my 24" CRT died about 2 years later, so I got the 22" off a friend and then a few months later found another secondhand 24" GDM-FW900 I absolutely use the 22" solely for low resolution gaming. It's great.
  4. Swords are pretty crap against armor though. I like swords myself, although it's nice to see other weapons being good for a change. Uploaded in 480p because I am playing this on my 22" CRT monitor at 800x600@160HZ
  5. Don't think so. She's a really underwhelming boss as well. The first spider encounter inside the cave is tougher than her encounter. Yeah I would call this derping. I can understand the bestiary XP kinda, but not the Trap/Lock XP.
  6. I know there's some extra peaceful options with the Ogre that aren't currently in the game.
  7. Also if there are encounters that give XP for fighting, you should probably get the same XP for resolving the conflict in a non-violent way as well.
  8. I haven't changed my mind I never thought it was necessary to remove anyway. It would however probably be a bad thing to add back in because the game has been designed around it not being there.
  9. Only because v301 is ridiculously easy, you don't even need to try. That won't be the case in future patches.
  10. Lock and Trap XP is retarded, and Lore is worthless (in combat).
  11. There was nothing wrong with pre-buffing in any of the IE games actually.
  12. I smell a bit of popamole in here.
  13. It would free up Wizards and the like probably because some of the casters are pretty terrible in combat due to having to sacrifice their damage output for lighing themselves up like a Christmas tree in the thick of battle. Can't say I'm a fan of the removal of pre-buffing either, since it was an activity I actually enjoyed doing. Enemy wizards are a joke at the moment. One Arbalest bolt from a Rogue and they go down instantly every time.
  14. Yeah I don't understand why this hasn't been the design from the beginning.
  15. No actually it's a pretty bad thing to leave them out. It should be an option, anyway. I think there may be some issues with it because of the amount of sub-sections and slots there are.
  16. Being able to hotkey the action bar would be good, I think you could do that in IWD2.
