  1. if by add-ons you mean patches, then I agree!
  2. Novice, Di? Novice? You of all people? I should think not. Expert, all the way, di! Anyway, if you want to select a squad and have them move when you have multiple squads intermixed: Press number(1,2 etc) key to go to that squad Left click and hold on the destination tile, then right click. Er, I think that works. Let me check. edit: yep that works. Not something I usually do though!
  3. According to Spector, they wanted JE's voice to be as non-inflected as possible so that gamers could play JC anyway they wanted and not find the tone of his voice in opposition to their actions. I think it works fine.
  4. I played several close combat games back im the day. 1-3 I think. Never really liked them, though it seemed that I should. I always found them quite dull, but kept buying the lastest one on the hopes that it would have improved. Maybe if they release this updated version, I'll check it out and see if it is more interestinmg to me now. The notion however that a tactical combat game wouldn't be improved by 3d engine is something I don't buy for a sec. Any game that takes place in a simulated 3-dimensional world is improved by having a 3d engine. They're just spinning the fact they don't want to spend time developing a new engine as if that is something good. FIne, no new engine. But don't act like it's a good thing.
  5. IIRC pressing 1 selects squad one; pressing 2 selects squad 2, etc.
  6. I've never understood this argument. If story is all that really matters in a game then aren't you better off reading a book?
  7. Yup. Get the Release version, unzip, then run the self-extracting exe and point it to your Jag 2 install. If you have any previous mods installed, you should probably do a fresh install of Jag 2 just to be safe. WHen the mod installs it creates an Jag 2 options ini file in the Jag 2 directory. Then it creates a a data 1.13 sub folder. By changing the game data path in the options ini file you can either play the game using the original data (by pointing to the data folder) or the 1.13 mod (by pointing to the 1.13 data folder). The 1.13 mod also has a massive ini file in the data 1.13 folder that allows you to change many many new game options. You don't NEED to change any of them if you don't want to, however you may want to scroll through the ini file and take a peek at what you can change. If you have questions about any of the options, feel free to ask. I would recommend playing on Expert difficulty because that opens up some of the more advanced AI routines that are not present in easy and normal difficulty. Be aware that the mod makes a lot of changes to gameplay and some of them, such as the call reinforcements and patrolling militia will take some getting used to. In many ways, it is like playing a new game.
  8. Best mod ever, di. New update just released a few days ago. Here's your link: http://ja2v113.schtuff.com/
  9. I was just looking at the absolute price of 1500 pounds or whatever. $3000 US roughly. Its more expensive then your average net surfer/recipe computer, but its not even close to a high end system cost.
  10. Right, my mom all her friends, my sister, brother, all the computer users at my job, the travel agent down the street, the hospital, are all going to abandon windows and go to Linux. Yup. Sure they are
  11. On what planet?
  12. I don't get it. Its not that expensive.
  13. Thank you. I feel a little better.
  14. Hey, this is America. Invading foreign countries under false pretenses is ok, but recess tag is not! Waay to violent. At least we have our priorities straight!
  15. Even Visc can run away from werewolfs when its TB combat.
  16. FO 1 should be number 2. but I could live with it the other way as well. Black Powder Deer Hunting ftw!
  17. oh jaysus. Yes, I meant dvd. gah. I'm too old skool. :"> @oerwinde: thanks. I'll try moving the cables around and see what happens!
  18. Aren't deathclaws monkeys? oh wait they're salamanders, aren't they? Oh no they're werewolfs! I need to review the Fallout bible, methinks.
  19. If Jagged Alliance 2 isn't number one then the knowledge of the listmakers is obviously called into a great deal of question, making all other arguments moot.
  20. I agree. Frankly this is really sad. I mean, I was looking forward to the game. Not going to buy it now. Unless they patch. EVen then it might be bargain bin material. Frankly, its not sad, its gross. Software publishers think they can get away with releasing this bug-ridden crap forever. Someday, eventually, people will stop buying until a game is certified bug-free. Or at least reasonably so.
  21. Oh dear lord, why would you want to do that?
  22. Is there really that much of a difference between SATA and IDE in real world performance? Last time I checked the difference wasn't such that most people would really notice it. I'm running SATA on my current system and it doesn't seem noticeably different than the IDE I was running on my previous one.
  23. Well, east coast would be a logical setting change. They can bring new stuff into the game withoout breaking canon so much. I am personally no more or less skeptical about FO3than I am about any other game in development.
  24. I have a new CD player and a new TV. Both have the component connections but when I hook up all three jacks, what I get is a mostly red picture. Am I doing something wrong? Is my cd player broken? Do I need a HD cd or something to get a full picture. I don't know too much about this stuff. But maybe nobody else does either. Help me obi wan kenobi; you're my only hope.
