When dealing with eye and groin shots, you have to recall that not only are we dealing with firearms, but there is also melee combat to think about. Shooting someone in the groin may not be any more effective than shooting them in the stomach, but as someone suggesting, hit someone in the stomach with a hammer and they'll likely have the wind knocked out of them. Hit them in the groin and they'll be done for a lot longer. It's a disabling shot. If you can't kill someone outright, the next best thing is to disable them until you can deal with them properly. My unarmed FO2 character used groin/head shots a lot in the early game to disable characters. Melee characters are much more dependent on AP. An enemy lying on the ground in pain couldn't run away from you.

I just finished clearing out the six bases near Elysion in Last Remnant. Out of the six boss fights, only two of them really gave me any trouble. The 5th boss managed to defeat me, but I came back and beat him the second time after I changed my tactics to eliminate the most dangerous enemy unions on the first turn. Having and enemy that is capable of healing itself is a huge pain in the ass. I've got 1/4th of your HP and now you can do everything I can do? Screw you! The 6th boss was even worse. Iron Will is seriously overpowered. I only beat him through sheer luck. Ran out of revive herbs before the end of that fight so I had to do the next one without the ability to cheaply and easily revive. I had one character that had Kiss of Life, but that takes 3-4 turns to gather up enough AP in order to use it. That combined with really painful AoE attacks made for one tense battle. Note to self: Don't try to do 6 boss fights in a row without returning to town to replenish stock of revive herbs.

I'm back at Last Remnant. I just took out the first of six bases and I'm wandering around doing a couple quests. 3 unions of 4, 2 of 3 right now with only one non-general character.

You could just edit you previous posts. You were still under the time limit. Also, I thought it was the fact that you had no legitimate offensive threat that was going to cost you the series? Lundqvist can't do it all for you guys although he's certainly coming pretty damn close to doing it. What has the coach done now that's got you in such an uproar?

I finally ran out of excuses to not play versus tonight after 30 seconds into a game I got that stupid outbreak achievement. Damn you Hells_Hitman! First game went horribly. We got beaten something like 3000 to 500, but the second game went much better and we managed 2500 to 700 for us instead of against us. Playing on Death Toll, no one managed to get to the safe house until the 4th level when we managed to get two in, but we shut out the other team at the panic event. Our finale went about as well as could be expected. We did use almost all the medkits, but all four of us managed to survive to get on the boat. Then we slaughtered the other team as infected, they were all in the yellow if not red by the time the got to the house and they didn't get to trigger the finale because they were too busy fighting off boomer hordes from our boomer that managed to get them three times in a row without dying.

I just ran into that problem. One of my group was dead and the other two were pinned by hunters behind the plane while I was at the front. One zombie got close enough to whack me so I turn to shoot him and when I do that another zombie gets close enough to whack me. I couldn't shoot them fast enough to be able to move farther than half the length of the plane before the the other two guys were finished off by the hunters and pounced me. The slow effect is way to damn much.

Current record is 5:38 or so being a cheap little bastard and hiding in a corner. That is one shoddily built lighthouse. I don't think there is a wall in that place that doesn't fall apart.

i wonder how many of those shots were in his chest... sigh. it wasn't on here, btw. at least they made it back after a 4 year drought. some things never change, however. the cards look good. maybe carpenter will heal, again, and they'll make it deep into the playoffs again. taks Probably about a quarter were straight into his chest. He had a couple great glove saves. A lot of the shots were actually along the ice. They were outshooting Vancouver 10-1 at one point in the overtime period. A couple really good defensive plays by the other players prevented tap-ins for the Blues. It was a really close game. Could have gone either way. Not that it helps much now, but CBC was streaming it live over the internet. I dunno if you could have gotten the stream where you are, but that's how I watched the game.

Vancouver just pulled off the series sweep of St. Louis with a 3-2 win in overtime. 19 seconds left in the period and Alex Burrows came in down the wing and fired a shot past Chris Mason. Luongo made 18 saves in that overtime period to get to this point. The Blues played a great game. I didn't tune in until just before Vancouver scored their second goal, but the Blues were pretty dangerous through most of the third and the overtime period, especially during those power plays in OT. Carolina pulled even with New Jersey in their series tonight. Scored the winning goal with 0.2 seconds left in the third period. How awesome/totally not awesome, depending on your team, is that?

IIRC that section in question was a gang headquarters. The city goes hostile because those aren't normal citizens, those are gang members that are attempting to eliminate a nuisance to the gang.

Considering the number of high level characters in an MMO that should have access to raise dead, what is this death thing you speak of? It's kind of like sleeping right? Just a temporary affliction until the end of combat?

You've mentioned the good things about the technology, but for me personally, those pluses were outweighed by the huge crippling negatives of graphical errors and near constant CTD's. I've honestly never had a game crash on me more often than Fallour 3 did and that more than anything else ruined the game for me. It would have been a bland and forgettable game were in not for those issues. I'll be interested to see what Obsidian can do. Hopefully I'll be able to play for more than 20 minutes at a time.

Agreed. It wasn't even slightly justifiable. There was like three seconds left on the clock and he jams his stick under the other guy's skate. Totally uncalled for.

Better night tonight for me. 2-1, but Philadelphia needs to step it up a tad.

We're in the process of cleaning up all the dog poop that accumulated on our lawn over the winter. There are always more branches that need to be trimmed and more grass to be grown. Hopefully we can fix up what's left of the bare patches this year. We also have to decide what to do with the area right in front of our new backyard fence. There's about 2 feet of bare dirt that had been overgrown with blueberry bushes (that our neighbour kept picking clean despite them being on our side of the line) and various other prickly things.

*grumble grumble* Boston beat Montreal 4-2 tonight. Chara broke a 2-2 tie about 12 minutes into the third on a power play goal. Kessel scored an empty netter from Lucic with 13 seconds left. Boston had control for much of the first period, but Montreal fought back and it was pretty even through much of the second and third.

New Jersey vs Carolina Carolina in 5 Brodeur has been a little off his game lately and Carolina has been red hot. Brodeur will wake up to steal a game, but it'll be too late. Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia Philadelphia in 6 Not too sure about this one. Really just came down to a coin toss. Western Conference San Jose vs Anaheim San Jose in 5 It's too early in the playoffs for San Jose to choke yet. Detroit vs Columbus Columbus in 6 This is my big upset in the first round. Mason will stand on his head to keep the Jackets in this. Vancouver vs St Louis Vancouver in 5 Two hot teams will provide for some close games, but Luongo will get the better of the Blues in the end. Chicago vs Calgary Calgary in 7 Calgary likes to play seven games for some reason. They'll go back and forth, but the experience of the Flames will win out.
