  1. Well, lets see here... My next upgrade will be the graphics card, the processor, motherboard, ram, monitor... Come to think of it, my next upgrade will probably be a new computer.
  2. Why would anyone want to run anything older than XP SP2? Anything before that is no longer supported by MS. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because some people have games that Windows XP does not like.
  3. Get rid of Cook? Cook left WotC a long time ago to focus on his own gaming company. Greenwood is still at WotC so I really don't know what the hell you are smoking but its not doing you any good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> From what I recall of his speech last year, Greenwood isn't doing much beyond writing the occasional book just to keep Wizards from assigning some other author to write the next Elminster book. Not sure how much of that is just exaggeration on his part though. I could ask him for you guys next time I see him (In about 6 weeks). "
  4. It isn't still alive? I thought the Starcraft community was still pretty active through Battlenet, but maybe they use other sources. On the Blizzard side of things, they did a pretty good job of taking that Battlenet concept and turning into a massive money making machine with 5 million users paying about $15 a month. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The starcraft community will likely stay with battlenet for a long time to come, however the last time I was on, it was so overrun by 13 year olds who thought that they were the "bestest starcraft player EVAR!!!11" with their maphacks that the only way to get a decent game going is at a lan were you can ignore battlenet and beat the tar out of anyone caught cheating. "
  5. Geez, no wonder you are never satisfied. Next you'll be asking for games that aren't swamped with bugs.
  6. I think I need to come up with some new tactics. I managed to conquer all of the Harkonnen territory except for one area that has had a coriolis storm on it for the past three turns. I tried taking the Harkonnen stronghold but ended up in a stalemate once I ran out of spice on my side of the map. I did manage to get into a position where I could destroy anything that moved within range of my plateau, however I wasn't strong enough to cross the desert sands to beat the tar out of the rest of the filthy Harkonnen scum. <_< Maybe something with those Ixian Projector tanks would work... I still hate you so much! Not as much since I was reminded of the Fedaykin thumpers, but still...
  7. Not if the portals are on the roof and the floor. Try to jump through and get nailed by the bullets. " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> for that I'd use either prox mines or rockets <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bullets would be like stealth though. Much harder to see than rockets or mines...

  9. I had that exact same feeling when playing through. Sure it was fun till I got about 3/4 of the way through, but after that it quickly came down and I cheated my way through the last campaign just to see the storyline play out. Once I hit the night elf campaign I started to notice all the things that I really didn't like about the game start to jump out at me. Can't speak for Calax, but I personally much prefer C&C to Warcraft and just slightly more than Starcraft.
  10. I have a new most annoying enemy. Those damn sandworms! I can take the Harkonnens but everytime I go off to attack them with my overwhelming forces, a sand worm pops up from underneath the sand taking out half my troops. Hates them so much. Need more raid... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think you need either distractors, thumber troops or worm riders. OF course you can always sacrifice a few cheapo units by sending to the desert first, Shai-Hulud will won't attack right away, so those guys can buy you time. That game has the awesomest soundtrack ever. Fits Herbert's world like a glove. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I used a cheapo sandbike to get rid of the worm that was already following my harvesters before I sent my Mongooses (Mongeese?) out to attack. I should have had a couple minutes to get them over to the other plateau, but within a minute of the first worm disappearing, Shai-Hulad himself pops straight up and swallows a dozen units including one of my harvesters.

  12. Emperor: Battle for Dune would be my current game of choice. I hate those damn Harkonnen buzzsaws. Ruining my spice fields.
  13. But it's still pretty damn cool though. "
  14. I just watched part of Robin Hood (Kevin Costner version) before a huge thunderstorm came up and forced me to watch that instead.
  15. It doesn't do anything at all even when for example using Windows Explorer to manually look at the cd? EDIT: Also, is it just DVD media that doesn't work or will CD's not work as well?
  16. I'm thinking it's too damn hot! It felt like 120 yesterday with the humidity and it's supposed to get up to the same today. I'm thinking that I hate our furnace for dying just before the hottest part of the summer. I'm thinking that tommorow with it's temperature drop can't come fast enough.
  17. Okay, they way you used double double doesn't sound like what I think of when I hear it. What are you refering to? Checkpoint: The leverytime I've been stuck with a needle I haven't seen any bruising on the surface of my arm, however it hurts for a few days afterwards and I have a little trouble moving it. <_< It's better than it used to be though. When I was five and got a booster shot I had a green bruise for a week and couldn't lift my arm more than 5 degrees or so.
  18. I just bought the special edition DVD. It comes with a neat metal case. " Watched Life of Brian earlier though.
  19. Mmm, Habanero peppers. Burn so good. "
  20. I thought that this thread was going to be about Stronghold. I'm disappointed. Haven't really been keeping up with all the NWN2 news but is there anything that describes the stronghold system in NWN2 yet?

Ottawa took that chance last year and lost big time. Not only did he not play, but he was a major distraction for the rest of the season. He's good, but with the exception of last year, he hasn't played a full season since '02. He's had two groin injuries in the past three years and I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up injured again this year. At least the Red Wings aren't losing too much on him as he's only going for 750k with playoff based performance bonuses apparently. EDIT: At least they didn't sign Belfour though.
  22. So you get to beat the tar out of them. Go in for the kill while they try to figure out how to control everything! "

I actually burst out laughing when I heard that. My uncle is a huge Red Wings fan and for some reason thought that they were going to do something stupid like sign Belfour. Instead they pick up Hasek.
  24. I'm thinking that a lot of people have thought that. I'm thinking of how lucky Lucius was. My driving instructor is a 50 year old indian guy with an accent that you would expect to hear from a help centre employee.
  25. I'm thinking how damn annoying my driving instructor is.
