I've got the game and it runs with only a few slight hiccups every 10 minutes or so on highest detail settings and I've only got a 1.7GHz P4 and a 9600 Pro.

Heh, oops. Missed that... *goes off the check again* If those timings are really important than that's probably the best deal you are going to get for CAS 2 ram. At least of the ones that I've seen. If you don't mind loosening those up a bit you can go up to PC4000 ram and pick up this for example for nearly $100 cheaper and should be better for overclocking. I'd look into it more, but my lunch break is almost over and I need to get back to school. I can find more ideas for you if you still want them once I get back.

I would advise against the Corsair XMS. Yes it is good ram, but it is highly overpriced. If you are not planning on overclocking I would suggest something like this. Much cheaper, but not quite as fast, although that doesn't matter nearly as much if you are not overclocking.

One simple question first. Are you planning on overclocking your system much if at all?

Yes I own it, but it no longer runs on my system, it's probably my fav RTS of all time, multiplayer anyways. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Works on my XP system... Make the setup.exe run in compatability mode and then the game exe the same.

I own it. Fun game. I started playing it again recently. A number of the missions were really hard and would take several tries to gather information before you could make a serious attempt to beat it.

In the United States, I think the Xbox360 is selling for $400, with a strong possibility of it dropping in price right before the ps3 comes out. The difference in price could be as much as $300, which is a significant drop in price in my book. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The problem is that the rest of the world isn't in the states. That price drop is quite steep and I'm sure it could very well turn the tide in favor of M$. However, if it blows up in my face it's still 300$(500$CAN?) down the toilet. I'd still rather put XBox360 savings on a good PC upgrade. I can't save 600$ for PS3. I have a car and appartment. Saving 250$ however is quite reasonable. And the Wii is fully BC. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The canadian dolloar isn't that bad. It's actually pretty strong compared to the last twenty years... To be honest, after first hearing thoat Roloson would be out for the rest of the season, I figured that the series was lost. However after thinking about it some more, Game 2 will be the one that determines a winner I think. If Edmonton comes out and plays like they did in the first half of game one then I think they still have a shot. If they come out flat then it's all over. With that said though, Let's go Oilers!

Monday is a busy day... I have to finish my power point presentation, preferably in the next two hours before my dad wakes up to catch his ride to the airport at 5am. I have to present said presentation at noon today. I have a driving lesson right after school. I have a martial arts lesson right after my driving lesson. The Oilers game will have been going for half an hour by the time I get back from that. I have to accomplish all of this on the four hours of sleep that I managed to get last night and no sleep tonight till I finish my presentation. I might have to skip my final class in order to get some sleep before my driving lesson... So very tired, but I still can't wait for that oilers game to start!

That's why we have PC's.
