Paddock fired. Murray back behind the bench.

That's part of the reason that Pierre McGuire didn't like the deal. Hossa isn't cheap and Malkin only has one more year on his entry level contract before he'll be looking for a big contract as well and then you've got a Tampa situation where you have a damn big chunk of cap space locked in in your top three forwards.

What a disappointing day. All Montreal did was give up Huet for a lousy second round pick in 2009!
-
Pittsburgh picked up Hossa?! Angelo Esposito, Colby Armstrong and Erik Christensen head to Atlanta. Pascal Dupuis also heads to Pittsburgh as part of the deal.

You get used to ducking fast. Trust me. I have a similar spot in my house.

Nice! Any pictures?

I tried the demo and I really liked it (especially when I put a song of my choosing). Is it worth it? Is it fun or does it get boring fast? Anyway, for some strange reason, I, lately, started installing old games and play them. I am playing Diablo 2, single player. I don't think it gets worse than that... I have 36 gigs of music on my computer. $10 is a ****in' steal. But yeah, it largely depends on the songs. For the uninitiated, the game takes your music and basically turns it into a rollercoaster dependent upon the dynamics of the music. Bands that alternate between Loud / soft or fast / slow like, say, The Mars Volta are generally the best, because they change the gameplay accordingly. But a band like Ministry that's all fast all the time is basically just an endless downward slope. Something minimalist like Brian Eno or the Knife are pretty boring. I'll probably upload some good Audiosurf music later on. That was pretty neat. Just tried the demo. My first song (Frank Klepacki - Rocktronic) was all downhill, the next (Meatloaf - Bat out of Hell) was mostly downhill with a few minor hills along the way and my last song (Slainte Mhath - Va) was really bumpy for the first 2/3rds, before it took a big trip down that was pretty fun actually. Definitely something I'll look into getting.

Pretty much sums them up for me, too. Used to go to the local one here all the time, but don't anymore. I usually go to BestBuy or Fry's (giant warehouse home/electronic/computer store). I don't buy off the internet unless it's the only way a game is sold. I'm in a very small minority. One of my local EB Games has recently increased the size of their PC games section. I buy all my PC games there in support of this movement. PC games now have more shelf space than the Wii and DS combined.

When it no longer does what you want it to do.

I buy all my PC games at EB Games. I need to support my local PC game section. Everything else is split between EB Games and Future Shop.

Yeah. The updated the story to mention that.

From the "Post your Spces" thread.

If it runs on my computer, it will run on yours. It chugs a little a huge maps and and big fights (80+ ships), but other than that it seems to run quite well.

There's a BG for XBox??? What was it called again, Dark Alliance I think. IIRC it really had nothing to do with the PC games beyond just the name. EDIT: Go me!

I caught that too and it was pretty cool. I even went so far as to set up my telescope in my living room but I couldnt see Saturn or its moon though. I don't even have a pair of binoculars let alone a telescope.

You heard right. The only singleplayer is a skirmish mode. A game on the smallest map type took me about 2:50:00 to complete although I probably could have shaved 30:00 to 40:00 minutes off that time. Before starting out huge map game, my friend and I played on a medium map and it took us nearly 6 hours to complete, with maybe the ability to shave 1:00:00 off that time if we really tried. It takes a fair bit of time to play.

I started a marathon game of Sins of a Solar Empire with a friend. Huge map with over 100 planets in 5 solar systems and eight computer opponents set up in teams of 2. My partner and I started in separate star systems unfortunately. I'm currently under attack by the three other people in my system. In the first hour of the game I managed to colonize 9 planets/asteroids. We stopped for the evening at the 1:20:00 mark. Since about 0:40:00 I've been fending off attacks on all corners of my empire. I've managed to beat back 4 attacks and killed two enemy capital ships (the only two destroyed so far) in the process. I managed to get three of my own capital ships out with groups of ten escorting frigates to patrol my empire. One more fleet and I'll take on the first enemy empire. I managed to sorta trap the one enemy empire in a corner. I stole one of his planets and fortified it before he could take it back. The only other way out of his corner goes through a couple jumps before he can reach a colonizable planet. He was the first one to attack me so he'll be the first to die.

I just came in from outside. There moon just went into a total lunar eclipse so it's all red and spooky right now.

He's back! Volourn: Both games had 5 unanswered goals in the second half. O.o Also, it apparently set a team record for biggest regular season comeback.

That was amazing. It wasn't televised here unfortunately. I kept track of the score on TSN till it was 5-1 when I gave up. Saw the highlights on The Score later. Saw them get 2 back, then three, then four and just the feeling of "OMG! Did they actually do it?!" was great. :D

I'm in the middle of a game of Sins of a Solar Empire right now. The fact that I'm posting while playing the game should give you an indication of how slow the game plays. :D
