  1. wasn't that st. elmo's fire? a different schumacher film, so your confusion is understandable. am not a schumacher fan. how do you screw up dicaprio and deniro performances? screw up dicaprio and deniro in the same film? we always kinda thought o' flatliners as schumacher's attempt at less campy horror following lost boys, though we kinda liked lost boys for what it was. didn't hate falling down. most horror films miss the mark with Gromnir. goal o' most such films seems to be to find interesting/bizarre new ways to kill pretty people. am not gonna try and convince folks o' the inhumanity o' killing pretty people onscreen, but am also clear not the target audience for such faire. will wait for the next shining. HA! Good Fun! You should watch The Babadook. It's right up there with Les Diaboliques, The Shining, Alien and Psycho. I hear Get Out is excellent as well, but I'm still waiting for a chance to see it.
  2. I just want to say that the after credits stinger in the new Spiderman is, objectively, the best segment of the sort, of all time, any future films included. Worth the price of admission, although, experiencing the whole movie is required.

In dialogues, for instance, you can see the character portraits before they move. Nothing that affects gameplay, so far.
  4. Yep. It is a card game, though, so it's a minor thing. The assets are high res, too, so there isn't any blurriness involved, either- I'll probably only be able to get a screenshot in a few hours.
  5. Yes, it does, even if it doesn't make much of a difference, given the game.
  6. Pathfinder Adventures is crashing on boot, right after the splash screen, without exception. I haven't played the game since the month of release, and I was trying to start it to connect the two versions. I have already used the report function to send Obsidian the system logs. I can't access my PFID, to help you find my account. My tablet is a Mipad, so it's a Tegra K1 with 2GB of RAM. I'm speculating that perhaps the problem has something to do with me not having played the game in so long. Maybe my player data is corrupt, somehow. I have cleared the cache and data, I have reinstalled the game, and I have cleared google play store's data as well. Edit: I managed to install it on my mobile phone. The screen is way too small and the phone is too slow, but it worked, at least enough for me to get my PFID, which is: 67700B3AEF2E8006
  7. All the movements of colonial independence would have happened differently and later. The Enlightenment would have lost a lot of its sheen, and the western world would be more religious today. Republicanism would be in the minority among western countries, today. The First World War would have been a vastly different event.
  8. "flatterance"?
  9. There's one gigantically positive thing, though, and I'm not talking about his manhood.
  10. Yeah, you kept firing up Skyrim's mod manager, all the time, the other day. Steam sure is a great stalking tool.
  11. Peaches are better than apples. So you believe there are only two species of fruit?
  12. I haven't been offensively tweeted at by president man-child, yet, so probably not.
  13. The difference between an arsehole and a genocidal maniac is more than just a difference of degree.
  14. $800 is terrible and all, but it isn't quite the millions of dollars Trump has been taking through his charities.
  15. Oblivion was furiously ugly sometimes, even when it was released. Some of the environments were outstanding and all, but technically it was terrible, from the implementation of HDR and bloom to the character models and the animations. But perhaps I misunderstand you and by magical you mean the PC's glowing, even blinding hands in dark environments.
  16. I'm not a big fan of the new portraits for the returning characters. Aloth is ok, but Eder and Pallegina are a downgrade by my estimation. The original portraits just had a lot more personality to them, I think. The paper dolls are a gigantic upgrade. They look vastly better.
  17. Pretty good CG. There just isn't much point in calling it BGE2. Online and a prequel? I don't think so.
  18. I read that as "throw up in your hands", at first.
  19. This might surprise you but the day has 24 hours.
  20. Are a religious person or is he just Satan to reason? As for the other paragraph, care elaborate how? I'm not sure I'm parsing your reply right but, if I am, he and his route to power and success is kind of anathema to reason. I did think a bit about whether to use the word "evil", and I probably shouldn't have used it. As for the last paragraph I thought it was plainly apparent. Trump has been quite evident in showing how much a sexist womanizer he is, how corrupt he is, how ignorant of the political process he is, and how dumb he is. His appearance and demeanor are of course plain for everyone to see.
  21. Well, yeah, no argument there. The election last year was humiliating for everyone involved, from the voters to candidates, to the press.
  22. That no one seems to be able to distinguish Trump from every sleazeball politician the US has ever had is something that continues to annoy me to no end. Trump is not like the Clintons, or the Bushes, or Obama, or Nixon, or Reagan or essentially any American politician you'd care to name. The "Trump is like every other politician schtick" is a ghastly normalization of an amoral, incompetent human trash fire, who is the evil embodiment of all the ways in which vast amounts of money tip the scales in life. I wouldn't have trusted him with being an assistant manager at a fake McDonald's, much less President of a major country, or owner of a multimillion dollar company, or host of a major TV show. Next to Trump Bill Clinton appears to be an ascetic monk, next to Trump Nixon seems like a dedicated public servant beyond reproach, next to Trump W. Bush seems a wise politician, next to Trump Dan Quayle is intelligent, next to Trump Hillary Clinton looks like a human.
  23. Trump needs no help with being disliked. He has done very well at that for the past 30 years.
  24. Trump being plainly and openly a hopeless idiot is a media tactic? Also, I don't see how Trump being directly under investigation is particularly relevant to the discussion given what was already known. Russian interference in the election is under investigation, there are Trump associates who were caught lying about meeting with Russians, including Sessions, and Kushner. Trump tried to have Comey drop the Russia Investigation, and he fired Comey specifically because of that investigation, which everyone knows to be a fact because Trump himself said so, effectively exposing a lie of his own administration. Basically, that Trump wasn't individually investigated by the FBI before the firing isn't all that important, given everything else already established, and after the manner in which Comey was fired, I'd be utterly amazed if Trump wasn't under investigation, now.
  25. Not really. At best Trump showed massively inappropriate judgement in his interactions with Comey. At worst, he tried to get Comey to drop the Flynn investigation. He also appears to be a massively incompetent buffoon, but that's nothing new. Of course the whole handling of things by the Clintons with the matter/investigation word change was bafflingly stupid as well. Basically, the defence on Trump's side is that Trump used the word "hope" when suggesting Comey drop the Flynn investigation. That's kind of akin to saying "I'll make you an offer you can't refuse" is fine because Vito Corleone used the word "offer". Of course, it's nothing impeachable, especially given the fact that the congress is Republican, but the whole thing is still atrocious. More atrocious than everything else? Not really.
