Degradation via consolification
Unreal Warfare replied to metamag's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
Stop crying just because other people don't want to play with "your" ball. Games are not dumbed down because of control limitation, or even the widespread audience (because games in general target a specific audience like RPG fans or FPS fans). They are dumbed down because gamers in general, over all platforms, cry like little whiny b*****s when they don't have an easy win button! -
Possible MP camera solution
Unreal Warfare replied to Cyn!c's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
Well how about this, enable persistent characters who keep their loot. When joining a game you get notified of the host's level and vice versa. If you're level 10 joining a level 20 game, the monsters will most likely destroy you, very fast. Likewise, if someone joining your team is too OP'd or weak, you'd just deny them. MP is about fun and cooperation so if someone isn't playing nice, just boot them. I'm not a big multiplayer gamer, but it seems to me that the MP has a large number of people upset and I think there are some simple things that could be done to change this. Ultimately if they enable persistent characters then PvP will also be possible which I think would be unreal in this game considering the combat system it has. Might be totally unbalanced but would still be fun for a bit. Hmmm... Instead of any level joining any game, why not just allow the host to designate what level ranges can join their game before they even create the match, like most of the RPGs that support multiplayer do? Because unless you limit it to 2-3 levels it creates an unbalanced game. And if you do that you restrict a large amount of a playerbase. -

Possible MP camera solution

I like the idea, but to add on top of it. If one party member goes to a zone portal (we'll call it portals for sake of debate, where one zone is adjoined to another) then the party is only transported if a majority agree on the move to another zone. Press a button to ready up a move to that specific zone. Or all party members must be within a small distance of the portal to proceed. -
General Complaints
Unreal Warfare replied to WillzZz's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
Then you're extremely lucky you bought it post patch then. Pre-patch Daggerdale game was a technical nightmare, and still may be. You only need to reasd the list of fixes, and see that there was a ton more that wasn't mentioned to know just how awful it was on release from a technical standpoint. Dungeon Siege, despite its flaws, 3 is near perfect in comparison. -
Some updates re: feedback
Unreal Warfare replied to Nathaniel Chapman's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
Sacred 2? Nope multiplayer you shared a co-op screen. ie. not split screen. I know for offline multiplayer you shared one screen.. but online I am not sure about. The only time you share a screen is when you are playing two players from one console. Any other multiplayer each gamer gets their own screen, that is for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Too Human. Each player gets their own screen. I'm with MonkeyLungs on this one. I'm pretty sure Sacred 2 is seperate screen for online. Obviously local is going to be shared. Split screen on local games just wouldn't work. -

Why no regrets or appologies?
Unreal Warfare replied to FaceGoober's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
I want an apology because Obsidian hasn't made any lush DLC yet. Oh wait they're too busy fixing issues for all the crybabies? Sod it then, I want an apology from the crybabies instead for delaying my precious DLC that I'll get charged for... -
PC version is broken
Unreal Warfare replied to Eric1's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
PC gamers can, that's just the thing. They're just too stuck within their own ways to try it. To them it's not a PC game without specific things, and they'll refuse to play it more on principle than because they cannot play it. As for keybinding, why not just bind keys to your mouse? Most PC gamers nowadays have a half decent mouse with multiple bindable buttons on it, yes? (I know mine does, lol) -
Anti aliasing does nothing for me in game. There's also the graphical issue when you force it via the VECC which has been disabled by the new 11.6 drivers and CAP. I'm guessing the issues may be related. There's clearly a problem for AMD users. Also I noticed very little difference myself between other graphical settings. HD5770 x2

Bit pointless to beat a dead horse, right? You know it's going to be fixed, you know that the topic's been done to death, yet you decide to post for the hell of it anyway. Nice one! Now I totally agree with you, don't get me wrong, but it's just getting a bit stale isn't it?

Multiplayer Questions/Comments
Unreal Warfare replied to Bakercompany86's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
Ever played games like this before in co-op online with randoms? Sacred 2 and Borderlands, two more recent examples come to mind here. Where's the fun in some random joining your game, being over powered and one hitting monsters, giving you tons of high end items that you can't even use yet or have even been modded (messing up your save potentially), and taking the challenge away from it for you? Where's the fun in joining your friends game as a level 20, not being able to level up anymore, already having the best loot for your character? Killing everything for him and taking away the challenge of the game for him? I just dont see the fun in that. It's just pointless. I think the current mechanic is just fine. Just start from the beginning, with a friend who isn't an idiot, and keep that save seperate from your single player saves. Make that save just for your co-op game. Profit. -
Just play this on a console, if at all.
Unreal Warfare replied to fawker's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
You can use Xbox 360 controller on PC, lol. That's what it's optimised for. -
So PC, Xbox, or PS3?

This is pretty much what I was going to say. PC graphics on your HDTV are pretty damn nice! -
Obsidian under Dungeon Siege

Play how you want to. My post wasn't in reply to you initially anyway, it was in reply to the guy who said he'd rather play on console because he had to use a control pad. Lol. My PC is next to my TV and connected via HDMI. So I sit by my desk or on my couch, depending on how I feel at the time. Go me! :D
