  1. They're implementing a zoom function usable via the mouse wheel. Pretty cool if you ask me. I wish someone would give Fallout 1&2 that treatment so I might actually enjoy playing them instead of constantly reminding myself to ignore the ugly graphics and slow, uninteresting combat.
  2. They seem to be zooming in the graphics with open GL (keeping larger sprites on widescreen and other big resolutions) and post processing the original background art. Also, if time allows BG1 will have BG2's interface done in its original greyish palette. Additional difficulty settings might be included. New areas, new NPC and new quests. BG2 ToB behaviour for all classes and kits in BG1 and 2. (did I mention how much I hate twitter?)
  3. I've been reading on competitive TF2 a bit. Its so sad what high level competition does to a game. Half the classes in the game are only rarely used in favour of the more overpowered ones (like the scout, which for some reason was made to be able to go toe to toe with every class in the game). I wonder if its Valve's fault for designing the classes in an unbalanced way or the players are to blame for metagaming.
  4. I beat him on my first try. The game is quite easy in general and pretty well made. Don't whine, unskippable cutscenes are nothing new in games.
  5. I don't know about the WH40K rpg. If its story was planned for an MMO it already sucks in advance as a single player experience. On the other hand, maybe it all works out.
  6. TF2 I know I'm playing too much of it because I can often hit a Scout with Pyro's flare. Twice.
  7. Shame about layoffs hitting Relic. I really don't want them to fail.
  8. What was actually the point of that small location in ToB? I can't remember what it was called but it was on the map, it was tiny patch of desert or oasis or something where nothing at all happens.
  9. How many years now have we been listening to paranoia about hacking and cyber wars/terrorism. All I've seen in the last 15 years are sites taken down and some cases of credit card theft. Sure, it might happen, but they're blowing it out of proportion just like the millenium bug. The whole article sounds like a sales pitch for computer security companies,
  10. That's it I think. Grimrock looks good, I think I'll check it out. The node movement is a bit weird but I'm all for exploring a real amospheric dungeon after 10 years of linear tunnels and other generic crap (Oblivion, Dragon Age etc...). I hope they make it somewhat difficult too.
  11. And I was wondering where all the most rabid trekkies went.
  12. Dunno. Then there's the general eye strain issue that comes from ****ty brown and gunmetal grey environments (not limited to BF2142 of course, its not even the worst case of it). That's why I like TF2, all the flat colours and clean surfaces make it so easy on the eyes.
  13. I think there was one old school type dungeon romp released recently and I mixed them up. That one was more humorous in tone.
  14. I had it and I didn't like it. Too much grenade spam, and the weapons aren't very exciting to use. Played it for a few days before deciding that I've had enough of people camping two buildings away and slinging grenades into a choke point for hours on end.
  15. Has anyone played Legend of Grimrock?
  16. Exactly. That's basically it, a collection of good ideas mashed into a clunky game. I remember quitting when I got into some endless grindy jungle/maze with apes. At that point the combat was already broken, I was killing most enemies in one or two hits along endless screens of identical vegetation which completely soured the whole experience.
  17. Damn TF2 is good, I can't stop playing. Don't you just love it when they scream FIRE! FIRE!
  18. Team Fortress 2 for the first time. The game is made of pure win.
  19. Look at your post count before you open your mouth. Should we add those of your collective accounts together for a similarly accurate picture? I don't think I've broken 2500 altogether. Volo is still the undisputed spam king of this forum.
  20. This sort of thing either happens or doesn't. There isn't exactly time to sip tea and deliberate on the cleverness of it.
