Strange considering the Wolves rare use of signs in the books and games. Think i'll stick with Ursine and axes. Edit: Yes the quick potion pots and loops on the armour were a nice touch.

I envy you your lack of light pollution, at this time of year it's quite difficult to get a good view in England.

I'm really not sure, I have noticed some dynamic changes in fauna, for instance when you kill wolves you'll see a rise in the deer population but i've not seen much beyond that.

Why did Obsidian despise light-side Revan?
Nonek replied to Harrold Andraste's topic in Computer and Console
Wasn't it Obsidian whom expanded on Revan's strategy, in that his war on the Republic was only targeting non essential structural assets, so that once he had conquered them he could quickly turn the Republic into a war ready state to be used against the true Sith? It was I believe Malak whom, because he was a brainless cackling big bad (the usual Bioware antagonist) disrupted this plan, damaging and alienating useful planets and assets for no real reason. Kreia also refers to her one time pupil as the burning heart of the force, or some such flattery if I recall correctly. It certainly does not seem that, dark or light side of the force, Revan was treated with anything but respect. -

NON-Obsidian South Park RPG Sequel Announced!

Unless Obsidian have been bought out by Ubisoft as part of their San Francisco studio? If so will they all have to dye their hair and crawl up their own rectums? -

Oh, I always thought that the gentleman was imitating a pirate, ala Long John Silver. Apologies. I don't remember how the Half Orc in Saradush spoke, it's been a long time since last played and I didn't particularly reckon much to the expansion. -
The news that South Park has gone to another studio for the sequel is rather harsh, I massively enjoyed the Stick of Truth and thought it really was one of the best translations of one media type into another. Obsidian hit it out of the park, as a reward they get cast aside, very harsh. Still I suppose they're used to the knocks.

Poor old Djikstra, the man just can't catch a break. Edit: I assume the Wolf school gear will be in four parts, normal, enhanced, superior and mastercrafted like the Cat, Griffin and Bear schools gear.
-
I'm never going to finish this blasted game. I wouldn't mind playing as Djikstra however, if there was a non Witcher focused sequel.

There is footage of the character using the Pip-boy to equip various layers of armor and browsing through his weapon list. Pity, ah well least said, soonest mended.

This is the problem in my opinion, the game being designed too much around what the developer expects the protagonist will see and use, rather than what is authentic to the setting, the situation and the character. It also aids the undervalued internal consistency of a setting to have a world where logical constraints are placed upon what may occur, and aids that setting when the fantastic arises to enhance and affirm the verisimilitude of the mundane and the otherworldliness of the supernatural. It is quite easy to spot when divergent paths are found through options taken or not taken, as we will invariably talk about the game, and our unique playthroughs will prompt discussion and possibly replays. I'd prefer multiple playthroughs to unlock all content, areas and plots barred to me because of my choices in dialogue or character creation etcetera. The world feels more authentic and reactive, the work that the designers have undertaken appears more personal, and i'm left thinking that the choices I make are acknowledged and reacted upon logically.

I guess you didn't watch the footage... Must have missed that portion. Edit: Still can't find any confirmation of whether they'll be using the pipboy to hold your inventory etc, rather than serving as a mapping, status and organisation tool like in the first two games.
-
Meh, nothing really blowing my skirts up, so to speak. Hope that the inventory and everything else is not controlled through the pipboy again, most idiotic, illogical and unintuitive control scheme i've ever seen. Might purchase after a few years with all the dlc, and when mods have rendered the PC version playable.

Male, female, personally i'd be happy for a simple well made protagonist. Let's face it usually the protagonist isn't of either gender, they're a cardboard cutout supermodel with generic lines, a few customisable barbie doll options and not one hint of any kind of personality, stance or individuality. Indeed many games prioritise playing using your imagination rather than having a personality (which one doesn't really need the game for,) as it usually barely reacts to the player except for a few token barks. Let's face it the state of protagonists is, irrespective of supposed virtual gender, abysmal. You are lucky if you get the usual Bioware idiot, spouting sub par Joss Whedon squeeing humour, with any dialogue option you decide on leading to exactly the same outcome except for a little flavour text. While blindly trudging on through a cliche, nonsensical plot without complaint, choice or any real control whatsoever.

The "rape culture" moral panic on US college campuses
Nonek replied to Ineth's topic in Way Off-Topic
In my eyes it does not really matter whom is guilty, merely that the approach to determine that guilt has been from all accounts faulty, unprofessional and lackadaisacal. If the young man is guilty of rape then of course he should be serving jail time, and if not then his accuser should be serving a spell behind bars. Rape is a serious accusation and should be treated seriously, with the rule of law in mind and evidence prioritised, not a trumped up court without any real legal recognition. It demeans a process that the civilised world should ideally cherish and hold to the highest standards, and not allow to be degraded, our ancestors fought and died for these rights. -

Life is indeed not fair, which is why any judicial system should be, it's a shame such a travesty occurs on the anniversary of the Magna Cartas signing however. However if proven innocent one hopes that the young gentleman will be adequately recompensed, and have the opportunity to bring civil suits against those whom falsely accused him and conspired to try and redirect (if not ruin) his life. This would hopefully make an example of the liars, dissuade anyone else thinking of doing the same, and encourage only real rapes to be reported thus boosting their legitimacy, and not sullying the waters for real victims. -
Apparently the Philae Lander from the Rosetta mission to examine a comet has "woken up" and started transmitting again, probably due to the warmth of the chemical reactions that are occurring as 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko moves towards Sol, and the increased radiance. Dr Matt Taylor and his team are extremely excited and this could herald even more discoveries on the nature of these heavenly bodies. Another important step for mankind reaching out amongst the stars, and let's hope this time small minded cretins on Twitter do not dictate how these pioneers have to dress.

It's a worry, and having children whom will soon enough be attending university i'm sympathetic to your wariness Kaine, but for the life of me I can't see how one could avoid such a situation without inhibiting ones enjoyment of those years. Of course you could see those years as simply work experience, study, work and not really have the time to party, but I wouldn't want to see any young person lead such a joyless existence. All the advice I can offer is, find good friends whom would not perform such base actions. It's certainly a messed up situation however.
