  1. lol. You're really looking forward to a game that isn't totally borked then? Are you also looking forward to his plans to release the proper tutorial as DLC? You must be SO excited at all this cool stuff. Considering I liked the original game and had alot of fun with the combat, yeah I am looking forward to a patch that improves on it and fixes up the one thing I didn't like. Yep, totally looking forward to DLC- FNV's dlc is the only dlc that I've felt actually justified the price and MOTB more than justified the rest of NWN2, and considering this is the same studio making the dlc I am pretty interested in what they make. YMMV massively on totally borked and quit shoving your opinion down everyones' throats (something I wish all the DS3 haters would listen to).
  2. If we were to get a traditional expansion to this game, i'd love to see that. I think someone else mentioned elsewhere that it would be cool to also have character specific quests that result in some kind of master gear. A max level quest would be neat. Yeah, companion quests resulting in sweet loot for the companion would be great- it'd give those interested in story a chance to find out more about the companion, and those who are just in it for the dungeons and loot a chance to get more sweet loot.
  3. can we please not derail every thread into an argument over MP? This was supposed to be a thread about the good news that a) The devs were listening to feedback and were honest about it and not in denial (something I see all too often from devs at launch) and b) They were working on fixing PC controls (:D). Enough with the constant rage about MP. MP reaction is mixed as C2B says, because Local Co-op works quite well (aside from camera issues) while Online Co-op is a mess. Also, just cause the internet hates it means nothing- internet forums and reviewers are a vocal minority- just look at CoD, hated by the net, loved by everyone else judging from sales.
  4. This was a Eurogamer interview that was done at the game's US launch, I'm not sure if anyone posted it, so I'll post it here (maybe this can be a thread for all dev interviews?). Nathaniel Chapman interview Anyway, the key point I noticed in that was that the devs plan on fixing up the PC controls in an upcoming patch. I was also pretty impressed by Nathaniel's honesty, he didn't really dress anything up in PR talk and beat around the bush compared to other dev interviews I've seen, especially considering DS3 had just launched. I'm really looking forward to this patch and seeing how PC controls get fixed up- this + camera tweaks will make the combat perfect imo. Also that answer to the last question has gotten me pretty excited- just what is this 2d game?
  5. For any dlc/expansion packs: Give companion influence more importance storywise- I'm not asking for romances or anything (god no, romance options are the worst) but I'd like to find out more about the companions through like companion backstory sidequests or something.
  6. They do have the rights to AP iirc. It's just that I doubt anyone will be publishing a sequel when the game was panned by reviewers and had mediocre sales, cult following or not.
  7. But it kinda does. I've played Borderlands at a friend's place and that's all it consisted of since I was new to the game. And in any MMO I've tried to get into (most recently this would be that f2p game Spiral Knights) it's always been a bunch of people running ahead, killing everyone and taking all the loot for themselves- half the time in Spiral knights I was finding the players grabbing all the loot for themselves more challenging than the enemies. Persistent/Competitive MP encourages the worst kinds of people to take part. @Cynic, yeah I guess the idea of having strict rules in place could work...give all power to the host to decide all the parameters and boot off anyone they don't like...still expects the host to be reasonable but hey if he/she's a jerk just join a different server I guess. Yeah I think I see your point now.
  8. That'd work. I think the problem is that the reason for the tethering and the lack of persistent MP and other limitations is to stop people from just running ahead and doing everything themselves and stealing all the loot (i.e. the way MP usually works and why I don't like it). Getting rid of tethering will lead to exactly this (loot won't be problem cause of character limitations but other players might find that the guy will just run ahead and kill everyone before they get a chance to fight)- even with the zoning it'd still lead to this. I guess with all the complaints about how MP is currently being setup to allow for a more friendly/casual atmosphere it's difficult to determine what people really want. Everyone here and generally on the net could just be a vocal minority and the majority could be pissed at the shift towards a more competitive MP. If anything, the tethering on Online MP should at least be extended in length for better movement within the map, the Camera could be improved, and players should not be tethered to a fallen companion for obvious reasons.
  9. I liked the Dapper Old Gent and heaps of others in StoneBridge like Baron Barrenbaron and the goblins in general. Stonebridge was the best level imo for both writing and level/encounter design.
  10. Jeez...I know VGchartz is pretty inaccurate but they've always been vaguely correct-like 20-30% give or take. And those sales for EMEAA look....pretty bad. Guess the sales will be around Alpha Protocol level (or even worse?) after all...
  11. imo I think instead of a dlc they should make an expansion pack (although I dunno if Square will think it's viable). I think in the expansion pack you should play as a new legion recruit (with a specified name for VA purposes I guess). You get to choose your class (Say, warrior, clockpunk mage or gunslinger- archon wouldn't work storywise and besides those three classes are badass enough). The level cap raises to 50 or even higher (just extend the length of the talent bars) and instead of being able to get all skills, instead you have a lot more skills but you can only pick 3 per stance (and an option to respec but it's fairly pricey). It's then possible to import this character into other people's MP games and you can retain your own loot and XP and stuff without bothering to mess with the story (in other people's games your character is just a generic legion recruit instead of an actual character). Local Couch co-op will just be the usual other player plays as the player's companion character (we'd still have companions right?). All of this should help quell the MP complaints (which I don't mind but I understand the complaints and can see why they'd want it changed). And lack of content can be made up for by releasing a mod kit allowing all sorts of levels and stuff for the fans to create and play for many months. And like everyone else, I'd love for the vanilla game to patch out the camera issues and WASD controls.
  12. I don't think anyone's trying to shoot down your posts, it just gets tiring to see yet another thread about the usual complaining and moaning and it's hard to tell that apart from actual feedback. If you have actual requests go post it in the community request thread and hopefully the devs will hear you (be nice about it though because that's one of the few threads that isn't plagued by random moaning and complaining). That other bit about how the benefits don't outweigh the flaws is just your opinion though and it's a little hypocritical that you claim that fanboys shoot down everyone's complaints and then you proceed to force your own views down everyones' throats.
  13. Are you serious? You honestly don't see what's wrong with randomly attacking people and making personal attacks at them just because they like a game that you don't? If you think they are praising it too much then actually debate the mechanics with them, you know civilly and properly. Instead you make gross accusations and then claim that it's just your opinion man (DO YOU NOT SEE YOUR OWN HYPOCRISY?!). Seriously dude, this is too much, just stop, don't pretend you've done nothing wrong cause you have. If you can't learn to be civil just move on.
  14. Wasn't NWN2 patched in a better camera + controls? It's not completely out of scope so hopefully unlike Sega, Square will allow them to properly support the game with patches and dlc.
  15. Was anyone able to find out if he had any relation to Reinhart? I mean the guy looks exactly like Reinhart but older, except his name is Achambaud Du Payen instead of Gerhart Manx. It really bugs me that I couldn't find any secret dialogue as Reinhart to find out why they looked so similar.
  16. Monkey Lungs enough with the antagonism over everyone who enjoys this game. You make ridiculous accusations like people being intellectually dishonest and having guns to their heads and have you thought....just maybe thought...people might actually like this game? OH THE HORROR. I mean, I hate Bethesda games- but I don't go crying about it all the time and declaring all TES fans as intellectually dishonest fantards. We get it. You hate the game, now you can either offer some constructive criticism about it or maybe have a proper debate about some mechanics and storylines (read: no freaking ad hominem) or...you can just move on. @WulfenMortys: Interesting points...I'm sad Troika's gone too Isn't Tim Cain working on an MMO with NCsoft though? Hopefully that can lead on to more SP RPGs by him as well.
  17. Because? There was a demo and reviews, no one told you to get the game before researching whether it suited your tastes or not. thats a pat bs response if i ever read one..some ppl dont spend a lot of time on the internet researching every thing about a game..you ppl act like its the consumers fault that developers put out bad games..this forum is just as bad as the fallout nv forum was/is..cant complain about your favorite little developer its not their fault they put out faulty products its everyone elses fault..blah bla blah....pitiful.. Except that it's not, the game is fine it has a solid actiony hack and slash combat. It's just not the type of game the OP wanted. Said OP could've known this if they'd just played the demo, the demo was there specifically for this reason. Also Fallout New Vegas is awesome (faulty products? what) and if you went to that forum just to complain (complain not criticise- and that's all most people here have been doing) then you should expect people to defend such a game when you're on the goddam fan community site for it.
  18. What have you seen of Skyrim to make you think that way? I've only seen a few screens though haven't looked around too much. It surely can't possibly be any more dumbed down than Oblivion? You'd have to have a game that literally plays itself to achieve that. The game no longer has attributes, no intelligence nothing. You just have health, stamina and mana. The skills have been cut down to 18 skills. The game suffers from jack of all trades syndrome in that you could easily master a lot of the main skills in a single playthrough (Todd Howard once mentioned how this one player ran a warrior in a oblivion but then found he was better at magic and Todd felt that the guy should've been allowed to become a better mage in that warrior build). The Dragons are not scripted but completely randomly generated meaning they run off that horrible Radiant AI and therefore are incredibly dumb (and the dragon battle in E3 showed just how dumb they were- such a massive let down). Armour is being "streamlined" downed to an armour set, boots and a helmet. Weapons seem to just have a damage stat and that's more or less it judging from some inventory screens. The majority of wildlife no longer attacks you unless you attack first, making exploration even easier than before. And finally level scaling is set up more or less so that nothing is difficult at all (any region you visit scales to your level, but after you visit that place that region will be stuck on the level it was when you explored it- so there's basically no difficulty when everything is scaled down). But we're going off topic so I think we should stop here and take it to the skyrim thread.
  19. Does everyone really need a thread to complain for themselves? Can't we just all post in a single feedback thread?
  20. Well Troika's insistence on sticking to the old school games kinda killed them...Obsidian probably doesn't want to go the same way. And to be fair compared to other rpg developers they've still retained a lot of depth and choice and consequences. Even DS3 for all its consolisation has far deeper mechanics and branching storyline than the stuff Bioware and Bethesda have been making recently (Skyrim in particular looks like the most dumbed down game I've ever seen).
  21. Sonic still has a bigger fanbase and I assume better sales than AP even with the generally bad rep. Also Sega suck.
  22. Huh, well it's pretty cool nonetheless.
  23. That was pretty interesting...but where do you find all this stuff funcroc?
  24. Matt C I think you are checking the in game times which ignore a lot of things (dialogue, lore, inventory etc). There's no way you gathered all lore and achievements and quests etc and still only finished it in 10 hours. Use the steam time instead.
  25. Oh yeah I remember that dialogue wheel, the three different that was basically saying yes to the railroaded plot developments but in 3 different tones? That consequence that only seems to have an effect in terms of vaguely steering Hawke's character like he's a more developed and interactive companion? That stupid mechanic? No but seriously, screw the DA2 dialogue wheel. At least DS3 had actual choices. Also fantastic dialogues? "I want to be a dragon!"
