I can't believe they're randomly generating everything instead of actually putting in the effort to actually design good encounters and they claim this is a feature rather than a lazy half assed job. First todd says the dragons aren't scripted i.e. they're random and therefore run on the incredibly thick, stupid 'Radiant' AI. The best bosses I found in games are ones with an actual set pattern (albeit complicated) that you have to strategise against and defeat. The 'Radiant' Dragons are just dumb AI that happen to fly and breath fire. Not only are we putting up with encounters and enemies being randomly generated but now the story is random as well- again it's called a feature and not a cop out for some reason. Seriously, randomly generating everything in the game is just going to produce a bland generic feeling. Especially when the AI and Beth's writing are both terrible.
  2. Really like the atmosphere, but I can't help but worry that it's just going to be more cover based, regen health, corridor shooting blandyness. Plus the autoaiming several opponents with the shoulder guns iron man style just reeks of awesome button.
  3. Square Enix expects 1 mill sales (don't have the source on me but it was posted on the forums here a while back). It's not too high so hopefully that threshold is reached, given that Squeenix appears to be one of the few publishers that hasn't treated Obsidian like crap I'd like for that to actually pay off.
  4. Just wondering for people who've played, how far away can a player run back? I mean as Reinhart I'd probably want to hang back and assist the other players so just how far back can I go before the game pulls me in.
  5. Wasn't Dungeon Siege 1 just this kinda bland Diablo clone that just kind of played itself? I remember people calling it an interactive screensaver....where is all this diehard DS1 love coming from?
  6. The demo actually comes with online MP? Are you sure they aren't mixing it up with local co-op? I hope the camera thing is just cause it's an early build though. Can any something awful users check if this is clarified by Sawyer or Chapman on the DS3 thread?

  8. Loading times are long? The previews I saw seemed to suggest there weren't any loading screens between maps/they were really minimal
