  1. I don't think Bobby Alomar is getting enough credit now for just how good he was.
  2. They were up 8-5. It was glorious. ... There's been precedent for averaging a Triple Double over the course of a full season and coming in third in the MVP race (The Big O: 30.8/12.5/11.4) Hell, that same year, Wilt Chamberlain averaged 50.4 pts and 25.7 reb and came in second. My offficial non-binding votes: MVP 1. Harden 2. Kawhi 3. LeBron 4. Russy 5. Isaiah DPOY: 1. Draymond 2. Kawhi 3. Gobert
  3. Undefeated in The Tournament. In my lifetime.
  4. Yep. It's a combination of winning and the fact that the Warriors pay into the luxury tax, and that they are self-financing the arena. So of course, they pass off the expenses to chumps like me/us who are willingly cucked into accepting the price-gouging. I've gone to 50% less games this year from last. But I like being a season ticket holder. Makes me feel like I bought my way into privileged, genteel society. Pip pip, cheerio, old chap! Why yes, thank you for the wine and cheese pairing invitation. Going to A's games with the masses brings me back to my true riff-raff self, though.
  5. Trying to get to the bridge during rush hour is 4x the amount of masochism I would want to endure. Then having to try to find parking and pay for it?? No thanks. My left knee and clutch would revolt. If I were to drive, leaving from my office to AT&T Park (a couple blocks from the arena site) will take me about an hour to an hour and a half. The commute from the office to the Oakland Coliseum complex is about 30 minutes. When they move to SF, I'll be taking BART and then walk to the arena.
  6. Dave Kaval has been making the right moves as far as the fan base is concerned after being appointed team president: holding office hours open to the public; greater transparency; regular engagement with the media; promoting team history and former greats; actively embracing Oakland; upgrading food options and bringing in the excellent local food truck scene; and lowering beer prices. I'm actually optimistic about the future prospects of the A's. Now the Warriors are starting to go in the wrong direction. I dislike the move to San Francisco. The food and beverage prices right now are insane. A burger and drink is costing me more than $20. Parking is $40. Parking at the exact same lot for an A's game is $20. My season ticket prices have gone up by 50% the last few years. There's also been a remarkably different demographic change at the arena. Hardcore fans are definitely getting priced out. ...like a hypocrite, I just literally renewed for next season...
  7. Well played, Colorado. Well played.
  8. 5,000 to 1 on UC Davis. Irrational alumni pride will take me far.
  9. A Final Four missing UC Davis is categorically unacceptable.
  10. Holey Rusted Metal, Batman! https://theringer.com/samurai-jack-fifth-season-cartoon-network-adult-swim-8cda82b2017b#.udnflljlx Samurai Jack is back!?!
  11. The Heodan and Calisca triangle. Both were secretly madly in love with each other...until the Watcher came. The Watcher's strong soul sent both hearts aflutter causing them to re-evaluate their mutual infatuation and gender preferences. Nothing consummated. Heodan never got laid.
  12. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/torment-tides-of-numenera/posts/1823045?ref=backer_project_update Looks like I'll wait a few months to start my real play through.
  13. The Warriors. Indians. Falcons. Hillary. PSG.
  14. An NBA where the Lakers aren't relevant isn't right. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/18840779/the-story-los-angeles-lakers-owner-jeanie-buss-tough-decision Nice reporting by Ramona Shelbourne on the byzantine plots happening in Showtime land. Hate the Lakers but I'm pulling for them.
  15. 1) Who are illustrating the player, party, and NPC portraits -and how are they assigned and approved? 2) Will we see viable player clothing akin to Tudor, Medici, Habsburg aesthetics? e.g., Francis Drake, Ferdinand Magellan, Walsingham, the Borgias, etc.
  16. Keep your deformity-causing longbows. All I know is that Oda Nobunaga's massed volleys by matchlock-armed ashigaru during the Sengoku Jidai against traditionally armed samurai was a game changer in Japan.
  17. Bows were better than guns in the 16th century. Tercio Pike and Shot tactics would beg to differ.
  18. Korgrak is gonna tip over the sloop and eat all the piggies. Both are unacceptable. Plus, I don't know how effective flogging him will be. Can't maintain proper discipline if the threat of a good flogging is abated.
  19. Logan is the most wantonly violent movie I've seen this side of Tarantino or DePalma, since The Raid.
  20. http://www.seriouseats.com/2017/02/kenjis-favorite-hot-sauces-chili-pepper.html Written by Kenji Lopez-Alt. Taught me how to boil eggs and pasta. Serious credibility for me.
  21. Fact: cold pizza > reheated pizza.
  22. Well, I'll end with this. I hope Obsidian raises $4.98 million after the sixty days so they get the option to spend resources to properly implement many of the C-Level fixes and features (including a walk toggle) without having to commit to the resource black hole that is adding another companion.
  23. I'm not against its implementation, but as has been implied, there's a cost-benefit decision associated to its inclusion. Can Josh, Adam, or a producer assign resources for its implementation prior to release? Sure, absolutely. But at what cost? They have a tight schedule with limited resources to properly implement core gameplay elements. Walking isn't a core gameplay feature for this game. It's condiments on the side. Cufflinks with a shirt. Mushrooms in a bolognese. A red headband on an irate Cliff Robinson. It adds some flavor and style to the game, but that's it. Also consider MMOs and DAI. The primary exploration perspective is third person over-the-shoulder. It'd make more sense to include a walk option because "immersion" from a low angle personal view is more central to the game concept as you are exploring the game from the perspective of your character. Eternity takes a more abstract isometric perspective, relying more on player imagination to fuel the immersive aspects. The player has the "God" view from above. The focus isn't on the player character exploring the sights on a personal level. Instead, it's a wide angle panorama of the area where the player is able to move the camera to view the map independently from the party.
