  1. Will Aliens: The RPG be as visceral, fun, and adrenaline pumping as this game? Cuz that'd be tyte.
  2. *In awe* Man, do you have everything written by/about any OE dev cross-referenced, catalogued, and organized into some master database, and easily recalled at your instant beckoning?
  3. You're referring the 80's Bourne Identity mini-series starring Richard Chamberlain and Jaqueline Smith right?
  4. I would guess by the xenomorph hugging his avatar's ummm...face, that it would be Aliens.
  5. Well, I remember that Avellone was the Creative Lead for Aliens before he bailed to be Lead Designer for P. Georgia. This wasn't too long ago was it? Maybe he was working on both titles concurrently before concentrating fully on Alpha. Still, my understanding is that being Lead Designer is a full time job, as is being a Creative Lead. Or was there some serious project personnel shuffling going ons behind the closed doors of OE? For that matter, is Alpha Protocol scheduled to be released before Aliens?
  6. Having read the GI article, I came away with a few impressions: 1) The dialogue system is in some ways similiar to Mass Effect but different. What your PC says is not written on screen but is chosen based on three archetypal personas. -A. What James Bond would say. -B. What Jason Bourne would say. -C. What Jack Bauer would say. However, I'm a little confused as to whether it is explicitly stated just what each choice will do/say? And will we have more than three options? 2) I certainly like the premise for romance in this game. There is none! It's just gonna be a shag fest James Bond style. No cringe-inducing courtship rituals ala Bioware. 3) If this game will be released roughly one year from now, will Obsidian have enough time for polish? They can't have been working on it for too long. Plus, if they actually will have time for polish, will this be a surperlatively short game? How much content can they produce for a game that uses the Unreal Engine 3 with such a relatively short development period? It took Bioware many years to produce ME.
  7. Just to be clear, is this the one with MCA as Lead Designer and B. Mitsoda as Creative Lead?
  8. Avellone and Mitsoda on the same project? Wow, this should be amazingly well-written. Which is btw, not to imply that the other designers aren't good writers too, but it's just that their writing is well documented in these circles.
  9. Try AVA Direct or Velocity Micro. http://avadirect.com/ http://velocitymicro.com/ Both get great reviews with fantastic customer service. Their build quality are superb. Each using premium parts (from which you select).
  10. http://www.star-telegram.com/sports/column...ory/512051.html This is a cool story. And I don't think Texas will have that many cool stories this year. They continually refer to him as a "kid". The guy is turning 27 in a few weeks. He's supposed to be in the prime of his career. They're comparing him to 19 year old versions of Juan Gonzalez, Ivan Rodriguez, and even Ruben Sierra. You can't! Of course you can't compare him (in his current form) to those guys at 19! He's not some raw kid who hasn't fully grown into his body yet. He's a polished baseball player who's benefited from several years of top level instruction, weight lifting, with some substance abuse here and there. It's great that Josh Hamilton is finally becoming the baseball player that he was supposed to be when he was first drafted 8 or 9 years ago. But jeeze, the guy can't be called a prospect. Call him a long time minor leaguer/high pick bust, who cleaned up his life and is supposed to play at the proper level he was originally envisioned to play. Randy Galloway? I'll add him to my list of douchebag baseball writers/commentators. Joining the likes of Richard Griffin, Bruce Jenkins, Joe Morgan, and Tim McCarver.
  11. Barry Bonds pre-2000 was the most talented baseball player since Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle. Barry Bonds post 2000 is the single most devastating hitter in the history of the game. This iteration of Bonds is my favorite.
  12. Lucasarts began in-house preproduction work for K3 but scrapped it soon after K2 was released. This was probably part of that.
  13. The Giants are in pretty crappy state. Without Bonds, their hitting could quite possibly be the worst offense since...well, ever. 1) Roberts 2) Visquel 3) Winn 4) Molina 5) Rowand 6) Durham 7) Aurilia Frandsen Things don't look too good on the other side of the bay in Oakland. But atleast the A's have a legitimate framework for rebuilding.
  14. Maybe this will help? http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=48748 Seems to be Vista specific.
  15. Das Keyboard. Personally, I prefer to mate my 45 wpm to the IBM Model M.
  16. Non Spoiler mini review. Time of Final Save: 46hrs 26 min. Good: Fun, involving story. A few mutually exclusive big game choices to make. Some of the
  17. Mass Effect sells 1 million units in three weeks. Great for Bioware. Good news for EA and Microsoft.
  18. NHLPA Hockey 93 for the Sega Genesis was the first video game I was ever obsessed with, though it is far from perfect. If EA somehow was able to combine the action, speed, and SFX from 93, with the gameplay refinements of NHL 94, with the feature set of NHL 95...then you'd have the most perfect video game EVAR.
  19. The 360 controller is really well designed. Very ergonomic and intuitive.
  20. Mechwarrior 5 would be neat!
  21. Go go Electronic Arts! It's always cool to root for the second place underdogs.
  22. Alien sex, naughty language, debate over atheism/religion, murder-death-kill, executions, rrrracism!, choices with consequences, and tentacle rape. I'm only about a third of the way in.
  23. Have you played KotOR? Long story short: The voice of Kaiden Alenko is the same as one the party NPC's from Kotor, Carth Onassi. He was the romanceable character for female player characters. However, to many male player characters, he came across as, "whiny". This was talked over constantly in the Bio boards. Dave Gaider was Carth's writer. He's also a very active forum poster.
