Neverwinter Nights 2 or Dragon Age?
uh, just for the record, obsidian does NOT have any games to their credit, yet... somebody mentioned an xbox game which was probably meant to be inxile's bard's tale... not obsidian's. i agree they are a dark horse in this world, but their talent comes from a pool of well trained game designers. as well, they've been working hand in hand with bioware for many years (IE was bio's engine, remember) so the fact they've gotten the sequels is no surprise to me. also, btw, i disagree that sequels are always worse. so far, gothic 2 is better than gothic 1... destiny knight was much better than tales of the unknown (bard's tale 1 and 2. the 3rd, thief of fate, sucked, however)... i preferred baldur's gate 2 to 1 (though not all share that sentiment and even i have things i liked better in the 1st)... most reviews say beyond divinity is better than divine divinity... anyway, it is all opinion, BUT, the real benefit to a sequel is the "lessons learned" concept. the team of designers have honed their skills, they've listened to fans and made appropriate improvements. technology has likely improved (not much with the IE games, which spanned 5 years or so) increasing the quality of the engine/graphics/AI, etc. there are plenty of reasons to favor a sequel over the original, and, in the case of NWN2, you're talking about a sequel released almost 5 years after the original. we shall see taks

What Do You All Do For A Living?
even police need to make that distinction (their life or another life) though it is a bit easier to prove necessity in some cases if you carry a badge. taks

Ex-CIA officer alleges agency retaliated...
oh, btw, this agency that was supposedly so under bush's influence was appointed and or created for the most part by bill clinton's administration. funny how that works. taks

Ex-CIA officer alleges agency retaliated...
yeah, you must be right... saddam met all his obligations in reporting the destruction of his documented WMDs, never fired on us (not 17 times at least) and did not systematically violate nearly every condition of our withdrawl since 1991... nope, not at all. it was all about the WMDs that, while bumbling blix was on the prowl, saddam managed to ship out of the country or bury in the sand. yup, that was the only reason... try not to rewrite so much history mkreku. taks

it was not added as a word until recently, i believe. it did reside in the old unabridged dictionary i perused in grade school, but was listed as a slang. taks

White House Plugs 10 Commandments Displays
uh, the law is not absolute and is designed to be subject to interpretation. people by nature will use their "morality" to interpret the law. are you saying someone should throw out his belief system just because it offends little ole you? also, curiously, does that mean you advocate using the "morality" of atheism for the interpretation? isn't that forcing YOUR wishes on, coincidentally, the majority? you're discriminating against his wishes as well, isn't that bias too? oh boy, it is just soooo painful to have to view somebody else's belief system just sitting in your face, mocking you... sheesh, get over it. one word: whining. uh, he's not, nor did he say so... nobody is advocating such things, either. so how is this argument relevant? the damn ACLU is doing the crushing... taks

Awesome Giant Coaching Strikes Again!
same coach that seems to think eli manning is TEH FUCHAR! LOL! of course, martz was the last bonehead to drop warner... at least bulger is a decent enough QB (still tosses too many INTs, however). maybe the bad coaching thing is a curse tied around warner's neck? taks

i know what telemarking is but i'm not really interested at the moment. first of all, it's much more difficult than standard skiing and second of all, i'm not bored yet maybe in 20 years or so... hehe. taks

ok, after two more days on pretty decent snow, i can now handle blues relatively well. i'm still a bit freaked when i get going too fast, but all in all, things are definitely improving... of course, the speed thing is due to the fact that i'm not quite comfortable with my turns so the prospect of hitting a bump or ice causes some grief (20-30 mph and tipping the scales at 240 means a hard landing on ice). overall, if anybody is hesitating about skiing in colorado right now... don't. the snow is great. the mountains got pummeled this weekend, too (17 inches in breck last week, several feet down south). we had a blast (6 of us and 2 kids). there's just something unique about spending a weekend in a ski town the next trip will probably be to monarch. cheap. of course, the base is over 10,000 feet which makes it harder. perhaps i should do some exercising? taks

my new car
depending on the car, quite a lot in some cases... the diff with the g35 is over 1/2 second in the 1/4 mile... nearly as much 0-60, too. even magnetic lockout converters never truly "lock" the engine to the drive-train. of course, i'd imagine there's a little slip in the best clutch as well, but not nearly as much. of course, i just like shifting... oh, i'm posting from CA today san jose, actually. van nuys tomorrow night with a quick trip to san diego wednesday. taks

Genetically altered food... Corruption agian.. lol
yeah, logic according to, well, thousands of years of accepted scientific practices. sorry you've never been educated in such practices. you just don't get it, do you? you have yet to refute anything i've ever said. ever. you can't because your arguments are flawed as is your "evidence." sorry dude, hang it up. btw, not once have i called you stupid. i leave to proof that your argument is flawed, scientifically lacking and that your conclusions are as equally flawed. if a reader wants to infer more than that, it's up to his own judgement. taks

article on pistons and pacers fight...
yeah, but you used europe as an example to justify behavior here. not a very good practice to use bad behavior as justification for other bad behavior. in professional sports, i think sportsmanship actually is dead. hell, the country was shocked when the cardinals went out to shake hands with the astros after the NLCS... something i was taught to do after ANY competition (pro hockey, btw, still requires such displays). taks

yup, they have bump training... just because there's a very specific way to handle them that might take a while to figure out on your own, meanwhile your legs are shot from the abuse. ice and snowpiles are probably assumed in regular lessons. i don't know since i have been learning from friends or through my own disasters. taks

on things ski related
he was being facetious. newc is quite good at it. i doubt it is, as long as you have someone qualified to show you the ropes. i have one friend that can handle it (that i know of) so we'll see later in the season. not necessarily. there are both depending on the slope and the skill of those that have been skiing it. some tracks are cut purposely, others are cut buy skiers. either way, moguls aren't really for doing "tricks", they're just an obstacle used in freestyle skiing. very hard on the knees, particularly when you're 36 taks

on things ski related
yeah, once you can handle tough slopes, you can take a lesson on skiing in deep powder (not a rule, just a recommendation). you have to do that a little differently since you may be up to your waist in snow... also, bumps mean moguls. there's specific lessons to teach you how to handle slopes with "bumps." it's difficult. even experienced skiers i know don't like bumps. taks

on things ski related
like i said, comfortable on a black slope. that requires a fair amount of skill and typically means you can handle turns well as well as speed. once i get to that point, i'll take a powder lesson and maybe a bumps lesson. i learned how to surf even quicker than this, btw, and it's MUCH more difficult. taks

10 days and i'll be comfortable on a black slope... if you really think it takes 10 weeks, maybe you should work on the foot-eye coordination thing a bit more? (j/k) taks
