I wonder how many frames per second that actually was, I personally don't think a first person view game runs well if it runs under 60fps. Doesn't majorety of console games run like 30fps? I remember GTA IV ran like crap on my 360 at least. Anything over 24 fps is barely noticible to the human eye. Under that and people start noticing choppiness. By "run" it probably meant playable, which would have to be over 24 fps

A few years back when running Crysis on full specs was the mark of a great machine, didn't some guy build a rig for 4-500$ that ran it on full? If a guy paying retail can do that, Valve certainly can.

Kick Ass 2. Not as good as the first, but I enjoyed it. I know Mark Millar is hoping a 3rd gets made based on his 3rd series to cap off a trilogy. They are cheap movies to make so maybe...

No way. A custom built gaming PC is still going to cost you 800-1000 usd. It wouldn't be custom built, I would assume it would he standardized hardware out of the box, that could be customized if you felt like buying extra parts. The Steambox I would think would he competing with consoles, and as PS3 proved, I the console business, you can't compete by being way more expensive than your competitors.

Now if one of the other 2 announcements is a $300 gaming PC preinstalled with SteamOS, screw PS4, I know where my money is goig.

So thia, and the Taliban suicide bombing a church in Pakistan killing 70+ people really makes it hard to see the whole religion of peace thing. Almost wish there was some way to mix fire and pork so we could bacon napalm them ensuring when they burn, they go to the right place.

Thank you very much and done.Guess really no-one wants Poker Night? It has Max! And TF2 items! Anyone who might have wanted it probably got it in the Telltale bundle

That was Damien Folletto. After BIS, he was involved in a post-apocalyptic game called The Fall: Last Days of Gaia. Not sure where he is now. LinkedIn profile has him as a Lead Designer at Microsoft. So he's moved up in the world, good for him. He was one of the more prolific posters and I believe the one who let everyone know BIS got shut down. Good to see he had some success (even if it was mostly on MMOs)

After the Breivik-massacre the mantra in the country, including the people who lost their friends and family was "more humanity, more democracy, more love" etc, rather than "off with his head". So it's definitely possible to be anti-death penalty even if you've lost loved ones. Appointing a Muslin m as minister of culture was a pretty big middle finger to that guy. If he had been executed he never would have seen it happen.

I joined the Interplay/BIS boards in 98 or 99 I think, because of Fallout. Migrated here after Feargus and co announced the new company. Does anyone know where Puuk(I think thats what he called himself, Hulk avatar) ended up after he got laid off at BIS?

I'll take DSIII. Id Oerwinde. I have codes for Bastion, Fez, and Limbo, and a gift copy of Crusader Kings 2 I can give out.

Well its kind of unclear how far away the other cop actually was. But the other cop The role of Sheriff I'm a little unclear on too. From what I understand they are either an officer of the courts, or the chief of police, while here he was like a beat cop with an office.I think they're treating him like an "old west" sheriff, who was actively involved in the policing of the town. In reality I think the Westchester County Public Safety Department is led by a Sherrif but Sleepy Hollow itself has a Chief of Police as its public safety head. I'm a bit unclear over the delegation of power too - Orlando Jones is playing a police captain, but he seems to have authority over the Sheriff, so I'm thinking that Jones is the Captain of the Westchester County Police (seat in White Plains, not far from Sleepy Hollow about 15 minutes) and that the Sheriff is specific to the town of Sleepy Hollow and falls, at some level, under the direction of Westchester County public safety (thus giving Jones the ability to pull rank on Beharie). I think it might be the other way around, Sheriffs are the heads of county police, while municipal police can be separate. Either way its a great big mess, but really only affects the pilot so it shouldn't be much of an issue in laer episides.

Sleepy Hollow was enjoyable, but what made me super angry was: "Officer down officer down!" *cop on other side of town* "oh crap, it must be this random disheveled guy in front of my car right now" *everyone takes him seriously*

Finished Wild Cards, out of all the characters they showcased, Yeoman was my favorite. On to book 2 of the Neverwinter trilogy.

Thr whole intro was dumb. Why didn't they just beam the device above the volcano and drop it. don't tell me their computers can't accurately calculate how much time it would take to fall and therefore how high up they needed to beam it.

It bugs me how incompetent the sheriff is on Under the Dome.

Finished Wonderful Wizard of Oz with the munchkin. They cut out quite a bit in the movie. Started on The Marvelous Land of Oz now. This is making me wonder why, with everyone wanting a franchise like Harry Potter and such, no one has tried starting the Oz books over and adapting the later ones too.

Any idea on how it did on DVD sales? I saw one years figures that came in around 50,000 units (plus or minus) and slightly over 1 million $ but can't find any cumulative sales figures. There was a comment attributed to Whedon that said that the dvd sales figures weren't installing confidence that a sequel would fly commercially. Serenity sold very well on DVD I believe. I know the special edition was in Amazon's top 10 for several weeks. There was talk of a direct to video sequel because the box office couldn't justify a theatrical one, but it didn't go anywhere.

I think Joss Whedon retained the rights, so thankfully if it comes back, he'll be the one to do it. The cast was one of the major reasons it was so good though, so I doubt we'll see any sort of revival, and I'm ok with that. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think Whedon owns any of the broadcast rights. I think the rights to the franchise break down as follows: 20th Century Fox owns all the TV rights to anything Firefly/Serenity related and released the original 14 episodes of Firefly that aired in 2002 on DVD. IIRC, there was a proposed MMO video game that was to be developed by the Multiverse Network based on a license that they bought from 20th century fox in 2006. Universal Studios owns the movie rights to anything Firefly/Serenity related and released the movie "serenity" in theaters and, on DVD and VHS. Sci-Fi purchased the re-run rights from 20th Century Fox. I think Whedon might retain publishing rights related to novelizations and comics. I know that Dark Horse comics released a three comic mini series that bridged the gap between the film and the series. The lack of publicity was part of a factor in Firefly not garnering a better reception. The network also aired several episodes out of order which didn't help the continuity at all. The DVD set has them in the right sequence and the show flows a LOT better. I never understood the fascination with the series. I thought it was moderately interesting but severely overhyped. Oh I hated the intro theme music - it is the most grating piece of crap I've ever heard. I hit the mute button every time It played. I believe Whedon intended for that to be the pilot episode for the series but the network objected and made the train heist the first aired episode. In the Browncoat documentary Joss Whedon said after getting the news that it was cancelled and he tried talking the execs out of it, he asked if he could have the showand they gave it to him. The head of Universal at the time was a fan of the series (Held viewing parties and everything) which was why they gave him a chance with the movie.

So seems now the moderate rebels are fighting the extremist ones now, more good news for Assad.

It doesn't help that they didn't air the pilot episode so many were a little put off by not having been introduced to the characters.

Wait, what do you mean the C&C was pretty damned good? I found that no matter my choices, everything turned out mostly the same. don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game, but the C&C was not one of the high points.
