The whole backdrop of Arrow was he was fighting greedy billionaires who want to **** all over the poor, so it does have a bit of the leftist bend to it.

I don't get why a clone raised amongst Remans that rose up to lead Romulan society, would name his flagship after a middle eastern earth weapon.

Season 2 of Arrow is better so far. With The Undertaking happening and Ollie's list being moot, he's starting to take a more traditional Protect the innocent role. Plus all the DC name drops and cameo characters.

The main actor is the worst part of Arrow. He has no charisma. Luckily almost every other character in the show makes up for him.

I find a lot of shows are better if you watch from the beginning rather than jumping in randomly. I tried watching a couple eps of Stargate around season 3 or 4 and didn't like it. Caught the first 4 in a marathon and was hooked.

didn't he build that super tranq gun Coulson uses? Don't remember. But how often since that have they needed him to invent something on the fly? They've even had Simmons running the tech stuff at times. She usually handles tech stuff when its something like the centipede bracelet or the ocular implant, stuff that requires a knowledge of biology as well. Either way I doubt anyone will die in the first season. Not Whedon's style. He has to make you love them before killing them.

Fitz is an engineer, Simmons is a biologist. Fitz's role is dealing with the experimental tech and such they encounter, Skye couldn't fill that role. I did think it was funny having that other hacker dude using SHIELD's crazy no-one-else-on-earth-has-this operating system and being able to hack into electronic locks and such within seconds. Sure Skye could - in episodes already aired - Simmons has filled in for Fitz on their technology and Skye's been shown to have more technological savvy than Simmons. Skye is a hacker with no formal education, she can do computers, but I doubt she could design and build prototype weaponry.

I wish Matthew Vaughn was still doing this. Also, reportedly, Ben Kingsley is reprising his role from Iron Man 3 in a Marvel One Shot (short film) that's supposedly has the real Mandarin confront him about his name and image being stolen.

If it's not Japanese would it still be called anime? You could argue anime is a style rather than just a regional term. Most anime has common features. Most are serialised, with a planned arc where the show ends. Most have a very similar art style that is instantly recognizably "anime" Western animation is usually episodic, with no planned ending so it can keep going if popular, snd has a wide variety of art styles.

But the Batman gave us Rastafarian Joker, you can't beat that or the Dracula episode; It's like the "Batman and Robin" of animation. I didn't like Jokers hair until I saw a model sheet with notes showing it was designed to look like a jokers cap. Also, Greg Weisman's involvement with the show made me stick with it. Season 1 was the weakest, but it kept getting better.

The idea a show like Brave and the Bold would be cancelled in favor of crap like Yu-Gi-Oh pisses me off. Kids WB cancelled most of their original programming 5 or 6 years ago in favor of switching the programming to 4kids, which was pretty much all Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and crap like that. Kids WB programming at the time included The Batman, just as it started intoducing other DC heroes and leading towards Batman joining the Justice League.

The first thing I do after watching a michael moore film is look up where he fudged stuff. At the time I watched Capitalism: A Love Story, no one had refuted anything yet.

Joined the Disney Movie Club, Gargoyles Season 2 Part 2 is an exclusive, so I bought it. Anyone watch Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and catch the Star Wars reference? Red Queen and Jafar were discussing what monster they could subject Alice to and Red Queen suggested the Sarlacc, which would digest her for a thousand years.

I haven't watched much anime since the early 2000s. Was a fan in the late 90s, went to animation school, and suddenly all I could see were the flaws. One of my teachers said it happened to him too. Got into animation because of anime, learned how it was done, and hated anime. Plus all the horrible dubbed/edited garbage was all over TV at the time too, forcing good shows like The Batman out in favor of stuff like Yu-Gi-Oh, so that added to my resentment. Now pretty much the only anime I'm into is the Studio Ghibli stuff, because since Disney abandoned classical animation they're the only studio that produces high quality classical animation anymore.

Americans who complain about the filthy hispanics make me laugh. Spain at one point controlled most of the southern US, of course Spanish is going to be a major US language. Its like Canadians who complain about the french. -

You mean things like honesty, hard work and all that jazz? Once again, you're assuming immigrants don't have that. I mean more like don't murder your daughter because she's dating a mexican.(this happened in Vancouver, dude didn't even think he did anything wrong) -

When I say integrate, I mean have an understanding and acceptance of local values as well as a good enough grasp of the predominant language that they can be understood when speaking it and understand when being spoken to. By acceptanceof local values I mean for example, while an immigrant doesn't have to celebrate christmas, they can't complain that the locals celebrating christmas while they're around Is some sort of insult to them. -

What has stared happenig in Vancouver, I can't speak for elsewhere, is that with the rate of immigration, there are larger and larger immigrant communities that are insular, and its becoming easier and easier for immigrants to get by without integrating. Businesses start seeing that there are large communities that only speak tagalog or mandarin, or punjab, so they start offering services in those languages in order to attract the business, further hindering integration. This causes a lot of issues with police, because largely the police only speak english. Its one thing to have an intermixing of cultures, but its just become so easy not to intermix. -
Yeah, Del Toro did it because he loves giant monster movies and was in a position to get one made to his specs. I liked that his giant monster movie was fun, unlike a certain Lord of the Rings director.

The clerics who radicalize them are the ones who need to go.
