To be honest, I expected as much. I mean it would probably be that much JUST for a Blu-Ray player. But one that can connect to the internet, and play games like the ones showcased... I'd almost gladly pay that much.

The combat system bugged the hell out of me in previous Civ games. What with Spearmen and such killing my tanks. I hope thats fixed with the new combat system. The whole adaptive/promotion system sounds neat, as does the religion system.

I miss detonating nuclear weapons and poisoning water supplies with my spies.

They're all using the in game engine, but not actual game footage. None of it is pre-rendered, its all real-time.

Hopefully the PS3 design will change by launch. Preferrably with a controller design more like the current Dual Shock 2 controllers.

Well, in terms of processing power, I think the PS3 is something like 20x more powerful than the PS2, and the Xbox 360 is about 5 times more powerful than the Xbox.

So apparently the whole Backwards Compatibility thing is even better. You can download NES, SNES, and N64 games onto the system. I'd buy it just for the SNES library. Especially if the rumors about them releasing those games for free, or at least close to free, are true.

I think the hacking is what gives it its appeal. The slashing is just something they tacked on and feels very underdeveloped.

At least its the prettiest of the 3 systems.

To the point about how easy it is to program for, the guys making Unreal Tournament 2k7 say its great. Actually all the devs who actually said anything about the ease of programming said it was quite easy.

I think I'd do it pretty much how it was done. Only I'd replace the Ewoks with some sort of crazy savage warrior tribe.

I might have read the stats wrong but I don't think they mention any internal memory. The hard drive is an accessory, so I doubt they would rely on that.

Jesus... I just watched the Killzone 2 trailer. I have never before been excited about a shooter. That changed today.

His/her real name is whatever you chose in the game. And where is everyone getting this "official" story stuff from? The Builders are the Rakata from K1, not the true sith.

K1 Pros -Awesome twist -first SW RPG(That I know of, Galaxies doesn't count) -Good characters -Fun K1 Cons -Crappy Ending -Worlds too small -Carth K2 Pros -No good twist, but overall better story -Far superior characters -Fun -Better upgrade system -Better animations K2 Cons -BUGS -No ending -Way too easy: unbalanced and too much level gaining All in all I say they're about equal. KotOR1's crappy ending beats out KotOR2's complete lack of one. KotOR2's story was better, while KotOR1's had a better twist (though MCA told us there was no big twist months before release). KotOR2 had far superior characters, but KotOR1 was balanced better.

I'm guessing it either has to do with the removable HDD mentioned in the specs, or one of the USB 2.0 ports on the back. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, but its sposed to be backwards compatible, and the PS1 games can't even save on PS2 memory cards. So there would have to be a port for PS1 memory cards.

Thats a CRPG? Looks like a 3rd person shooter to me. If it is a CRPG, I hope before they release it they think "Hey, these graphics were obsolete 2 years ago, we should fix them" And DAMN, the E3 coverage must be using up all gamespot's bandwidth, because that is slooooowwwwww.

Not where I work. Two completely different things testing for two completely different reasons. Oh, did you believe that you were QA testing Windows XP Professional x64 Edition when you downloaded the beta and the successive RC1 and RC2 editions? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Beta testing is part of the QA process. Beta testing = QA. Both achieve the same thing for the same reasons. Unless where you work has a different definition that the rest of the world doesn't know about.

Reload the autosave before the HK-50 fight. Thats how I fixed it.
