  1. Well not too long ago they discovered a new species of man they dubbed Homo Floresiensis. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/20...ary/hobbit3.jpg Maybe you could call them Floresiens?
  2. Its a shame that you have to use the BG2 art, because the BG armor and such is so much better.
  3. Ahh, that makes more sense. Living in Vancouver I can usually understand broken chinese english since half the population here is chinese, but seeing it typed is a whole different animal.
  4. just finished playing a game of civ3 and I'm really looking forward to the changes in Civ4. Pollution bugged the hell out of me, especially when I was going in and conquering some dutch cities. They were like population 20 or so and after occupying them it took a long while before they were out of resistance, and during that time, due to there being no mass transit or recycling plants, all these cities were just spewing out pollution, and I couldn't ship any workers over because they had submarines taking out my transports. I also couldn't build anything there due to corruption and resistance. So I don't have mixed feelings about removing corruption and pollution anymore, I'm all for them being cut.
  5. They're all using the in game engine, but not actual game footage. None of it is pre-rendered, its all real-time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Apparently incorrect. According to Epic Megagames' Mark Rein: In addition to the Sony demos being shown by Phil Harrison, the Epic and EA presentations were the only third party portions actually running on the PS3 in real-time. But most of those movies, which I probably watched 3 or 4 during rehearsals for the event, look very achievable and some were probably rendered on the actual box but in non-real-time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I read that sometime after I posted. Apparently the footage for Killing Day was also in game. It looks pretty impressive too.
  6. Whenever someone mentions they're vegan the only thing I can think of is the first vegan I met. "DON'T TAKE MY PICTURE!!! THEY KILL HORSES FOR THAT!" After that I could never take a vegan seriously.
  7. It supports 7 wireless controllers, I just want 2 wired ports to be able to use my Dual Shock controllers.
  8. I think they'll accomplish this with the new culture, trade, religion, and tech tree systems. The new culture system will make it harder to hold on to conquered areas, or even areas that you have just neglected culturally, the religion system will allow smaller, but religiously expanding empires to have a huge influence on the larger ones, the new tech tree system will allow smaller nations to catch up to larger ones militarily by sacrificing civil technology, and if you have a small nation with lots of resources it could make you extremely valuable to the nations with more passive AI. Speaking of the AI... its nice that they're going to have multiple leaders for some nations, with different AI and such. The fact that pretty much everyone had the same AI in Civ3 bothered me. God damn warmongering Ghandi.
  9. I'm kinda glad they're getting rid of corruption, it was a real pain and I didn't like how it limited your empire size so much. Fun before realism I spose. Pollution wasn't as much of a pain. By the time you actually had to worry about it, you had a railroad system connecting all your cities and a whole whack of workers, so it wasn't a problem, just a necessary evil. The promotion system needs a more in depth explaination. Does it replace the old simple experience system? Or is it on top of it? From all the various screenshots, it looks like you can rotate the map to various views. Which is neat.
  10. The thing is: I don't know. It was all done by email and checks. Still, it's not the sponsor who made that site and those claims. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok, well theres nothing official if its done through email then I believe. So yeah, threaten legal action. Make your own website, etc.
  11. The PS3 is using Bluetooth v2.0 (I think it was) and with that technology, you don't even have to be in the same room to play. It goes through walls. Not sure what the Xbox 360 uses though. Also, with the Bluetooth you'll have something like 24 hours battery time in the controllers, because Bluetooth is extremely battery friendly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> WHAT? I have to CHARGE THEM? That sucks! Jeez, what's wrong with a bloody wire? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My thoughts exactly. The Revolution has controller ports for Gamecube controllers, why can't the PS3 have ports for PS2 controllers.
  12. So did he sign anything to get that 500 bucks?
  13. Limited Backwards Compatibility means the Xbox games won't work with the Xbox 360, they need to recompile the Xbox games to be compatible with the 360, so you will either have to trade your games in for 360 compatible ones, or just buy new ones. Only the most popular games will be recompiled such as the Halo games, Jade Empire, the KOTORs etc. EDIT: Ok now its just confusing. First they say the games need to be recompiled, now they say they'll work... WTF http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=8996
  14. http://pc.ign.com/articles/616/616871p1.html More info. The religion system and the new culture system sounds awesome, but I have mixed feelings about the removal of corruption and pollution. While they were a pain in the previous games, they kinda made sense.
  15. So far from the rumored launch titles and the features offered by each, I'm going with the PS3, but the 360 looks a LOT more appealing than the old Xbox did, so I might grab one of those later on in the generation.
  16. You know, I don't think I can come up with anything that beats this one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I came up with it one time by mixing up some tuna and miracle whip, then finding out we had no bread left. So I toasted up some eggos and put the tuna in that. Turned out to be really good, and I ended up using eggos from then on.
  17. It has just as much chance of being good as it does of being useless.
  18. Nintendo is the only one that got it right, including controller ports for Gamecube controllers with the Revolution.
  19. Oh I don't deny that its likely the 360 is easier to program for, but that doesn't mean the PS3 is hard to program for, which is what all those xbox fanboys and "experts" seem to be saying, even though it contradicts what developers who are actually working on it say.
