  1. Apparently these are some of the launch titles: Metal Gear Solid 4 Tekken 6 Gran Turismo 5 Grand Theft Auto 4 Devil May Cry 4 Madden and various other EA sports games Killzone 2 Final Fantasy XIII As someone on another forum said, the only way to describe that launch lineup is Playstatiowned.
  2. Also disappointed in the lack of wired controller ports. I do not want to be forced to use wireless controllers.
  3. I hope thats not what it actually looks like. The controller sucks ass.
  4. Heres some mock ups PSM did of the PS3 based on all the info Sony has given out http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/davsin50/2ea1fa67.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/davsin50/05acb157.jpg I'm not sure I like the asthetic design, but the way the features are implemented is great.

  6. QA testing would not have resulted in a better ending. QA testing would not have caught the missing content. Better Beta testing would have caught these errors, but QA testing (whether internal or external) would not have. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You do realize that QA testing IS beta testing right?
  7. FFVIII and FFX were nothing like FFVI in terms of quality or tech level. FFVIII Was crazy high tech with force fields and spaceships and floating cities, while FFX was just plain wierd. FFVI was about right, with the steam/magic powered battle armor, the imperial capital, and the blimp-like airships. But I wan't something more Victorian.
  8. Am I the only one that finds this funny?
  9. As long as they have ports for wired controllers I don't mind them going wireless. I like my wired controllers, I don't want to have to buy batteries for my controllers.
  10. KotOR 2 is also a great game. And just because you had problems with their first game doesn't mean you will with their 2nd. They've learned from Lucasarts mistakes and have their own internal QA department now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Internal QA department != Better quality game It's up to the developers to actually fix what the QA department flags. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well the QA for KotOR2 was obviously not very good, since they missed a lot of blatantly obvious bugs. Having internal QA will allow them to be able to test and fix faster than sending a build off to Lucasarts or whatever to have tested. More efficient QA = less bugs/more complete game by release. In most cases at least.
  11. Total Annihilation and Impossible Creatures both had this function I believe. Only TA really caught on.
  12. It is? I checked it out on Gamespot as it and the 007 title were the only ones I wasn't familiar with/didn't really want anyway, and it got a 9.something IIRC. Is it another case of using the same review for all platforms? Anyhow, I figured even though I didn't want those two titles, if the system, games, and peripherals are in as good of condition as the seller said it was, it's worth at least $500 new, that's without the extra controller and memory card too. So even subtracting the price of those two games ($100), I still got away with robbery. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just know my friend absolutely loved the PS2 version so he went and bought it for his gamecube(played the PS2 version at a friend's house) and returned the GC version within hours of purchasing because it was so bad. Apparently the controls make it near unplayable. I don't have first hand info on that though, only the word of my friend.
  13. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/614/614280p1.html The PS3 ads are kinda neat.
  14. Sony said the PS3 would be backwards compatible months ago. It will be backwards compatible with both PS1 and PS2 games.
  15. There was too much magic and not enough crazy steampunkish tech. The world looked too normal so the magic, even though there really wasn't all that much of it, overshadowed the steampunk aspects. So I agree. Also, would Steampunk be a subgenre of Sci Fi or Fantasy? Or would it be a Fantasy/SciFi hybrid?
  16. Usually the Final Fantasy games decent endings. They usually have a good 5-10 minute cinematic once you beat the end boss. I find that usually leaves me satisfied.
  17. Apparently the GC version of Timesplitters 2 is garbage. But anyway, the only games I was interested in for GC were MGS: The Twin Snakes, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia Legends, and a couple others I can't remember. Hehe, either way thats 2 more games than the Xbox that I'm interested in
  18. Actually blaster bolts are slower that bullets even if it was meant for the audience being able to see then. Jedi dont dodge blaster, they use the lightsaber to deflect it (one could argue about Force Powers allowing then so but there is no movie evidence). Actually thinking about it I remenber in the EU the empire uses a varient of Stormtroopers for toxic/radioactive enviroments that are issued vibrobales because blasters sometimes cannot be used in such condictions. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was discussing something with a friend about just using projectile weapons against jedi, because if they tried to stop a bullet with their lightsaber it would just superheat it and still hit the Jedi. They can stop blaster bolts because they can reflect energy, but metal it just melts.
  19. Even if Lucasarts could make a KotOR MMORPG, why would they? Why would they bother making a 2nd star wars MMORPG?
  20. We just got bored watching the chick scream for an hour with nothing really happening. It got reeeeaaalllllyyyy boring. The remake was entertaining at least.
  21. It was better than the original. Dear god did the original suck.
  22. Yup, but Jade Empire is a different take on the fantasy genre. Its not stereotypical swords and sorcery with dragons and elves and whatnot. I would like something that isn't swords and sorcery. I would absolutely love a good Steampunk game. A lot more over the top than Arcanum though. Something more like Chris Bachalo and Joe Kelly's SteamPunk comic series, with the emphasis on crazy technology instead of the battle of magic and technology
  23. The only moral issue when it comes to Gay rights is whether or not we persecute people based on a genetic trait. Personally I see no difference between allowing Jews or Blacks to marry and allowing gays to marry. When it comes to science, the whole moral thing is based on if there is a god. If it goes against "god's will" then its immoral, which is crap. God never said we couldn't genetically engineer things, or clone things, etc. anyway. Morality has already crippled psychological research because they have to inform you exactly what they'll be doing now, which spoils any of the data aquired.
  24. I've found that its not nearly as common after the patch, but it does happen. pre-patch it was every other conversation. Now its only 1 in 10
