  1. http://www.agdinteractive.com/ They're remaking Quest for Glory 2 into QG4 graphics with mouse control and such. They did a great job with Kings Quest one and two, so I'm really looking forward to this one. Anyway, I'd like to see all the infinity engine games remade. Combine the entire BG saga into one huge game with updated nifty keen graphics, actual party interaction in the BG1 section, more sidequests in BG1, and an explorable world map in the BG2 section. Also add a shwackload more roleplaying to the ToB part. PST with updated graphics would be cool too. I'd also like to see FF6 get a remake so people can stop saying FF7 was the best one just because they've never played anything before 7.
  2. Hehe, watch it be released and actually be worth the 10 years of development.
  3. I wanted one of those, but I don't have enough points.
  4. May have been on the losing side, still not convinced it was the wrong one.
  5. I like JRPGs. Most of the games I own for console are JRPGs. The Suikoden series is the best of the bunch though.
  6. A classmate of mine got a job working on the game and we were all like "Right on, Job security."
  7. The few notes about the main quest sounds awesome. I love the fact that you have to build your reputation as a hero before people will treat you as such, and the stronghold idea sounds wicked.
  8. http://www.bjorn-comic.com/dandv/strip50.jpg The rest is either pics of me, pics from my website, or pics from an old webpage one of the girls from the old black isle boards did where she posted pictures of various members. Dear god that picture of me is old. I look 12 without my beard.
  9. Yeah, the only hope of a sequel rests on DVD sales. But I wouldn't hold my breath.
  10. Serenity opened at #1 in the UK this weekend.
  11. Fixed. For some reason it wasn't letting me copy and paste so I had to try to remember the URL. Memory wasn't as good as I thought I spose.
  12. http://www.rpgamer.com/games/suiko/suik5/suik5.html Not much info, and only a couple screens, but there are some tidbits that should please some, such as the abandonment of the 4 character battle system from Suikoden 4 and returning to the 6 character system of the first 3. They're also bringing back the skill system from Suikoden 3. The textures look a LOT prettier than Suikoden 4. The graphical style looks kinda like a merging of Suikoden 3 and 4, with the more proportioned characters of 4, with the vibrant colors and designs of 3. The graphical style reminds me a bit of Kingdom Hearts, where they just used textures to simulate an animated look instead of using cel-shading. Which IMO looks a LOT better.
  13. I don't know much about Gauntlet, but if its anything like the previous ones, I'd cross it off too. But yeah, thats a much more accurate list. Off topic a little bit, has anyone else become annoyed when they go to RPGamer.com and check the upcoming RPGs list and 60% of them are MMORPGs and 35% are action games with RPG elements?
  14. Yea! No one dies! BTW, the international numbers won't save this movie (sequel). I hope I'm wrong. I'm all but sure I'm not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If we're lucky, though, the DVD sales just might. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> DVD sales is what got a Hulk sequel greenlit, as well as a Punisher sequel. I think Hulk lost something like 30 million, and Punisher lost something like 15 when it came to the Box Office, but DVD sales pushed it well into money making territory, so if we're lucky, the same will happen with Serenity. Especially since it looks like they're going for a double dip type thing. Joss Whedon doesn't seem like the kinda guy who would skimp on the DVD, but the one scheduled for release in December is pretty weak. So I'm expecting an unrated extended directors cut type thing next year.
  15. No matter what you do with the script, if you want it turned into anything other than a novel, you're going to have to release some control over it. A graphic novel is probably the way to go, but you'll have to lose some control over the visuals. You can describe what you want as much as you want but someone will always interpret it differently. If the story is whats important, just find an artist who's style you think would fit with the story and characters, and let them do the rest. They're not going to change the story, and you can attach examples of how you picture certain scenes to give them an idea of what you want, but chances are a good artist is going to know better ways to bring out the ideas visually and you'll have to accept that unless you want to learn how to draw and do it yourself. I think going the novel route is the only way you'll have the degree of control you seem to want though.
  16. The whole game me and my friend were like "WTF is Vancouver doing? Edmonton isn't even playing well and they're all over them." Then that shootout. Dear god Naslund. Right, he'll never expect the 5 hole, especially if you don't deke. Jesus.
  17. I'm getting a PS3 for two reasons: HD movies, and Japanese developer support. Most of the games I have for my Playstation and PS2 are from japanese developers, since most of the North American developers I like seem to either only release PC games, or they release them cross platform, so I just get the PC version. I might get both the PS3 and the 360 this gen though, because it looks like the 360 will have much more japanese dev support than the Xbox.
  18. Man, Vancouver played like crap tonight. And what was with Naslund's wimpy attempt in that shootout? Didn't look like he put any effort in at all.
  19. You kinda have to actually sell something you've written and have a "career" before you can start making 'conditions' on your sales If you're afraid of re-writing... writing may not be for you. As to the movie Serenity... it was... ok. (now that I've seen it) I'm guessing you have to watch the series to actually get the full effect? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah. The only characters with any depth at all in the movie are River, Mal, Zoe, and the Operative. If you've seen the show then the characters are a lot more developed and certain events in the film have a LOT more impact.
  20. Pretty much, the 360 launches in 2 months so it's stuck with DVD. It seems likely that if the 360 wants to keep pace once the PS3 is released and they start to use more than 10 GB per game, then your going to need multiple disks. Two disks dosnt seem too far fetched but if ever it gets to the point of someone actually filling a Blu Ray disk then your game box is going to be thicker than the old style game boxes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Once they really start pushing the HD capabilities of the games that will start to fill a lot of space. I think one japanese dev house already complained that standard DVDs don't have enough space if you have to display everything in HD. I mean some games for the PS2 are starting to come out on 2 discs, add the extra space for the new next gen graphics, as well as the extra space required for HD picture quality, and you're going to need some crazy compression to fit that on DVDs.
  21. I'm talking triple layer discs. They can fit 4 hours of HD res film on one 25 GB single layer Blu-Ray disc. If they can replicate the HD-DVD triple layer technology on Blu-Ray, that boosts it to 75 GB. The LotR extended editions were only split over 2 discs because they had 4 commentary tracks, as well as the standard audio tracks.
  22. Yeah, but you'll still need 3 discs for the LotR trilogy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, but you could fit each of the extended editions with all the extras on a single disc.
