  1. Well they do wipe out an airforce base in the middle east...
  2. Its a classic Optimus Prime quote. Its the line that won the "Prime Speaks" contest after they disqualified "DO A BARREL ROLL" and "These pretzels are too salty"
  3. If you watch the trailer on the official site www.transformersmovie.com, then they added a bit to the end of the trailer. Peter Cullen saying "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings". It made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
  4. I'm a big fan of the His Dark Materials trilogy. They were pretty dark considering they're apparently sposed to be kids books. I liked the whole religion is the villain angle too. I'm currently re-reading the wheel of time books now that Knife of Dreams is out in paperback. Its been 2 years since I read Crossroads of Twilight so now the only thing I really remember is how I felt about each book. 1:Good, 2: Really good, 3: Good, 4:Pretty good, 5: Pretty good, 6: OK, 7: OK, 8: OK, 9:Half Decent, 10: 800 pages of nothing. Apparently the new one makes up for book 10 though.
  5. I doesn't really count as a movie, but I just watched all of the Lost Room miniseries from Sci Fi. Awesome.
  6. They keep referring to this as a teaser, so chances are we'll get a full on trailer around march with voices and such. Most of the voices haven't even been cast yet. Which is retarded because by then they'll have to dub the voices in, which is the wrong way to do voice acting.
  7. The backwards compatibility is one of the selling points for me for the Wii and 360 because I was never interested in buying those consoles, but with the 360, there are some games coming I want to play, plus I can play the 2 or 3 Xbox games I missed out on by not having the system. With the Wii theres the same thing, plus the ability to play old school SNES games that just aren't as good with an emulator. With the PS3, as I already have a PS2, its more for convenience. Also, my PS2 has lasted longer than anyone elses judging by the whining about how badly built the system is, so it should give out at any time. (I got it in 2001)
  8. Interesting concept, non-living entities being given the same rights as living organisms. Does an sufficiently advanced AI equal "living"? Does "decision making" equal "living"? Why wouldnt animals be given these same rights, because they cannot speak in a language we understand? Your thoughts? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If they become self aware and have feelings enough that they demand rights, I'd consider them living.
  9. http://uk.promotions.yahoo.com/transformers/ Teaser trailer.
  10. I still play Suikoden, Suikoden II, Xenogears, and Final Fantasy Tactics. Suikoden II is still the best console RPG I've played.
  11. I saw A History of Violence. I thought it was really good until it ended. The ending was not satisfying at all. It just made the movie seem really short. I also saw Nacho Libre, which was ok. Beowulf, starring Christopher Lambert, which was actually very entertaining, I recommend it. Day of Wrath, starring Christopher Lambert (he's the best bad actor ever) which wasn't bad, but when the whole jewish conspiracy thing started to be revealed it turned out better. Though the ending baffled me.
  12. Did you use the true name scroll on the shadow reaver? Otherwise you can't kill it.
  13. http://listserv.plaync.com/t/2300358/1696248/354/0/ This was the link they sent me. Dunno if there are any left of the original 5000. Its like an open beta type thing right now I think.
  14. I'm a horrible person because I found that amusing.
  15. I don't believe so. He's just part of the humor of the game. People in game were talking about the items they were finding, they were pretty funny. And I just got a Stacked Wondrous Decoder Ring of the Butterfly.
  16. You can pay 5 bucks a month for some bonuses like queue jumping, potion stacking, more inventory, and the high level equipment. But as far as I know its not necessary.
  17. So I just got an email from NCsoft due to my previous membership in City of Heroes and they were talking about Dungeon Runners, a free MMO from NCsoft. Its currently in an invite only type thing with 5000 keys available. I got one and will let you guys know what its like after I play a bit. Ok, after playing some, its like a mix between WoW and Diablo. It has the clicky clicky action of Diablo, with the visual style and UI of WoW. But it doesn't take itself very seriously, as my equipment can attest. I am currently wielding a Cardboard Shamshir and wearing Baby Sealskin Brigandine. All in all, I think this could be fun... for a while at least. I mean the price is right. Free to download and free to play.
  18. Gibraltar ain't Spain, buddy. But it isn't the UK, so I guess it would qualify. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Anybody else notice how he sidestepped the issue of the beer quality? " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They need to at least chill the stuff. Warm beer. WTF.
  19. Doesn't have to, its ending at issue 12. Warren Ellis wanted to do another 12 issues, but he would only do it with the current artist. That artist had contractual obligations to do other stuff I believe, so they just ended it. Apparently the editors at Marvel apparently loved it, and in Warren's words "... begged me to do another series that won't sell" I loved Aaron Stack as an insurance claims adjustor. "also at least one of the medications 'skyfish testes' is evidently entirely fictional"
  20. I see the PS3 being the console of choice for JRPGs, unless the sales die off, then my bet is the 360. JRPGs tend to be all about eye candy and engaging stories, which is more suited to the powerful consoles. The Wii will dominate party gaming though.
  21. I said 8. PS:T and Fallout would be 10, Fallout 2 and BG2 would be 9, Bloodlines would be 8, IWD, IWD2, Baldur's Gate would be 7, NWN OC would be 6, Morrowind/Oblivion would be 5. I would have rated Bloodlines higher if all the furniture in my haven didn't turn into lamps.
  22. I believe he put the THX remastered ones on DVD. The ones he released on VHS in the 90s. And thats all he did. Directly from VHS to DVD with no cleanup or anything.
  23. Well, even though Canada is disqualified, I noticed when I was in the US last that it seemed like pretty much every job posting I read required a college degree, while in Canada, they don't give a crap if you have a degree, as long as you can do the job.
  24. Does a verbal contract count? He has multiple people on tape telling him the rate is .002 cents.
  25. That was the impression that I got when playing the game. He was basically a really powerful magic golem who's only purpose was to protect the Illefarn. The extent of his "thoughts" were "Are you an enemy of the Illefarn. If yes, then attack, else ignore." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Needed to pay more attention during the rites of purification then. The reason they used a living person was so they could have a sentient mind behind the guardian. They wanted it to think for itself. That was how everything went wrong. If it didn't think for itself it never would have turned to the shadow weave and this all wouldn't have happened.
