  2. I like how they point out that the watchmaker analogy is more supportive of a polytheistic pantheon rather than the single christian god. For ODIN!
  3. Anyone else going to Comic Con this year? It will be my first visit. Going this year for Warren Ellis, but it looks like hella fun.
  4. I read a report once that said that spirituality is influenced by our genes. In the study, they found that something like 90% of those who had this gene were religious, while like 85% of those who didn't were athiest. And the number of people without it are growing. I think the report said something about reaching the point where we're starting to evolve beyond the need for religion, so the gene is going dormant or something. I'll see if I can find it. EDIT: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/...-725072,00.html Haven't re-read it yet so I dunno how much of what I remembered is accurate. EDIT2: Ha, what I remembered seems to be completely inaccurate.
  5. Watched the Fifth Element for like the 50th time last night. I never get tired of it. Its not often that you see a vision of the future like that, its always either sterile utopian future, alien-esque used future, or cyberpunk. I like how its all crazy colorful with ****ed up hairstyles and such. The kind of future where you can imagine them looking back at us and saying "Dear god, look at those clothes and that hair, hilarious!" Entertaining flick too.
  6. I'm surprised that no one mentioned this yet: Evolution is the theory explaining the development of life from its origins to today. Creationism is the theory explaining the origin of life. TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THINGS. The real debate is Abiogenesis vs Creationism.
  7. There is more evidence to support Evolution than there is to support Gravity. Do you think Gravity is wrong?
  8. Some sort of Steampunk RPG. Preferrably one with no magic.
  9. 400 BABIES! On that note...
  10. OH WHAT I LOOSE But I'm good at sports now.
  11. http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=hoxGFoI6rvA POWERTHIRST. Made with REAL LIGHTNING.
  12. Why do I have to choose? Comboburger baby.
  13. I just watched Steamboy. Makes me want more Steampunk stuff. Watched the dub, which was surprisingly good. Alfred Molina was excellent, and Patrick Stewart really tried to cover up that it was him and ended up with a really neat voice. Also, the score was fantastic. I just might have to buy it.
  14. I like that they're giving control options. I'm not going to use the new control mode, but its nice that they're doing it for those that want it.
  15. Apparently all the 7-11s have the Simpsons stuff like the Krusty-Os and the Buzz Cola, but the Kwik-E-Marts get so much more business that they're all sold out.
  16. I believe they're still the largest Convenience store chain in Canada, dunno about the US. Mac's is trying to catch up up here but they're more expensive.
  17. I'll go with Obsidian. They can do what they were trying to do with Van Buren, only with a more efficient engine so they don't have as many headaches.
  18. There's nothing wrong with the subtitles. He's also Devastator in the movie novelization. They changed his name at the last second (to Brawl from the sound of it). But they couldn't get that into the film. Either way, he is Devastator. They changed his name to brawl about 10 months ago. Or longer. When they announced what TFs were in the movie, his name was Brawl. When the movie opened in the UK and people asked the writers why he was Devastator, they said it was an editing problem and it would hopefully be fixed for the US release. It wasn't so it will likely be changed for the DVD. His toy is called Brawl as well. Early versions had the police car as brawl. I'm going to see if I can find anything to support what you're saying. http://boards.transformersmovie.com/showth...045&page=90 Read the posts by Roberto Orci. He was one of the writers, he talks about how the Brawl/Devastator thing was an error that just got missed in all the confusion before release.

  20. And they ****ed up the subtitles. Brawl is not supposed to be Devastator.
  21. Not religious to me.
  22. So in preparation for the upcoming Simpsons movie... behold!
  23. Well... bought my tickets yesterday, and got there a half hour early for there to be only front row corner seats left. So I got a refund and bought tickets for the 10:30 show tomorrow. Selling out two unadvertised shows is a good sign that this will make a lot of money though.
  24. I was never a big He-Man fan until the 2002 series came out. Sure the nostalgia got me interested at first, but the show was actually really good. There are lots of shows I used to watch in the 80s that I go back to now and can't stand. He-Man, Thundercats, Ninja Turtles. Gi joe and Transformers have managed to stand the test of time and survive past nostalgia. And others have been revived into something far superior to the old stuff, such as Ninja Turtles and He-Man. Heres hoping someone takes a chance and tries to revamp Thundercats in the same way TMNT and He-Man was done...
