  1. So I take it you would also like combat to be resolved with a single die roll? After all, there's an extraordinary amount of player skill required to resolved the combat mini-game in RPGs. I tend to cheat a lot in my games so I don't even have to worry about combat, as its usually the least enjoyable part of the game for me. Having the option to skip the whole process would be nice. I actually really liked Tactics. I thought the additions made to the combat like cover and positions as well as the phase based option was really nice. Other than the improved graphics, improved combat, and more focus on combat, I found it to definitely have the fallout feel.
  2. http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9226 New show doesn't sound too bad anymore.
  3. just finished The Maltese Falcon. It was ok. Good ending though.
  4. The theatre is going to be packed with kids tomorrow. I'm staying as far away as possible. I spent my Canada day watching TSN looking for NHL updates. Most people think its starting on the 3rd. I didn't even know it was starting tomorrow until today. Anyway, tickets are bought.
  5. Van. Burnaby to be exact.
  6. I'm using my day off tomorrow to see Transformers. Thank you Canada.
  7. Canada is the butt of many jokes. And we tend to just laugh at all of them. We're just happy to be on TV
  8. 140, thats it, guys at work were trying to figure out how old Canada was. We had settled on 137, so we were close. Eh.
  9. Same here. I know 90% of movie games are utter trash, but don't care either - it's Transformers. You realise that you are keeping those moronic suits in marketing in a job, managing the overall content of games, simply because you reflexively purchase anything with a brand you like, don't you? Yeah Oerwinde! You realize this don't you? I mean, at least I read the Gamespot review apropos of my purchasing duty. Yeah, I read that and the IGN review. Downloaded it instead to see if it was worth a purchase. Wasn't worth the download. Uninstalling now. Holy crap that was a bad game. 2nd mission in the decepticon campaign is to destroy 5 communications trucks with Skorponok within 2 minutes. Each of the trucks are about 45 seconds away from each other, and take about another 45 seconds to kill. You gain 30 seconds to your limit whenever you take one out. Math does not compute. Also, the controls are some of the worst in any game I've ever played.
  10. I'm ancient. Some of the post counts on there are silly. One of the moderators has like 40k posts.
  11. The Canadian system is not perfect, but I'd take it over the American system any day. In BC we pay premiums for our health care based on Income, I currently pay $0 because my income isn't high enough, but I got a new job and should soon be paying around $15/month for my health care. No deductable. My ex, who is american, went to see a doctor because her left side of her body went numb, they told her it was an anxiety attack (numbness is not a symptom of axiety) and prescribed some Xanex and charged her 150 bucks for the visit. The Xanex obviously did nothing so she went to a different doctor, they determined it was MS and charged her 150 for the visit then referred her to a Neurologist. No Neurologist would see her without insurance so she went almost 6 months without a confirmed diagnosis before getting a job with insurance that would cover her Neurologist visit. In the meantime she was sued by the first doctor for not paying the bill for her misdiagnosis. Wait times are different depending on severity up here. You won't have to wait 6 months for an operation if you'd likely die in that time. But then again, going to the emergency room with a Bladder Infection could net you a 1 hour wait before you even see a doctor.
  12. Grabbing the Transformers movie game tomorrow. Will be the first movie game to grace my collection. Likely the last until Transformers 2. I don't care if it sucks or not, its Transformers.
  13. That shot is better than the licensing ad, but not by much. EDIT: Emphasis mine.
  14. Come on man, guy with a flaming skull whipping flaming chains around. How is that not cool? Agree with the plot, acting, script, etc though. Just saw Fantastic Four 2. It was not bad. A fun watch. Doom needed more green in his costume and more ruling of Latveria. Also, Galactus as a storm cloud, not cool.
  15. Orange Juice. Tropicana, extra pulp.
  16. Just finished season 5 of Stargate. Daniel Jackson is awesome. Too bad he's "dead" for a season.
  17. It was too predictable, though didn't deliver on the Peter/Sylar rivalry. Basically leaving out the only thing that would have made it good. I guess Bad isn't accurate. Disappointing would be more accurate. The lower the expectations going in however, the better it will be.
  18. The finale isn't very good.
  19. http://www.myspace.com/116446489 Stan ****ing Bush. Has a new Transformers themed song that he submitted for the soundtrack for the new movie.
  20. Well, they're already producing direct to video movies for it, so maybe its not really ending until those are done.
  21. Finally a game I might actually buy for my DS.
  22. The site has the wrong pic for Bonecrusher. They have Blackout. Bonecrusher is the minelayer, the guy who tackles prime on the highway in the trailers.
  23. Clone Wars was cool. Fair enough, but the Samurai Jack/Clone Wars animation style is pure ass, and hardly befitting for something like Transformers. No sense of proportion whatsoever. It's less visceral than Chung-esque animation but in an ugly sort of way, and far less streamlined than the non-chibi anime style. Heck, it's even more blocky than the original Sunbow designs. This isn't a redesign, it's mutilation: Prime doesn't even look bad-ass, just pathetic. Can any sane individual watch a Transformers show that looks like that and take it seriously? Listen to Walsy, he's *KNOWS* about the moronic execs, man. He *KNOWS*. I know it doesn't fit TF, I thought it did fit Star Wars though. TF needs a more realistic style. I don't mind slightly stylized, but not the superstylized that is the trend in cartoons right now. The whole Dexters Lab, Fairly Odd Parents, Samurai Jack, etc. style is only good for so long. Needs more of an X-Men Evolution style. Also, on another board someone asked how we would do a transformers series if we were in charge. This was my response:
  24. The only episodes of Enterprise that I enjoyed. I actually enjoyed pretty much the entire 3rd and 4th season, discounting the episodes dealing with the aliens helping the nazis in WW2.
  25. Clone Wars was cool. But there really wasn't much precedent for animated Star Wars. The CG version looks like ass though. They need to get the guys who were behind the recent He-Man remake. That was awesome.
