  1. Just got one, gamer tag is Oerwinde of course.
  2. So Matthew Vaughn wants Kevin McKidd(Lucius Vorenus from Rome) to play Thor. Sounds good to me.
  3. I think the fan favorite is Ryan Reynolds. Which I happen to agree with.
  4. Listening to the recent Yellowcard album Paper Walls. Its better than Lights and Sounds because they smartened up and realized the only reason people liked them was because of the Violin, which they all but ditched in L&S, so they incresed the volume on that, but its still not as prominant as in Ocean Avenue, which is disappointing.
  5. Personally I'm extremely excited about this. The script is supposedly the best of any comic movie to date. Deals mostly with the origins and dealings of the norse gods, ending with Thor's fall to earth and imprisonment in a mortal body.
  6. Probably what I get from the all you can eat japanese place on Robson over here. Nice small portions so I can get everything. Teriyaki chicken, like 5 different kinds of sushi, gyoza, tempura, edamame, etc.
  7. I did the same thing with Warcraft 3, although I did manage to play through the human campaign before I started cheating. I thought the story was interesting, but the game play just didn't hook me. I wonder how widespread this was with WC3. I know that at least 2 people that I know in real life did the same thing. Same here. Put me down as another. I played through with cheats to see the story, then played through again without. I do that with a lot of Blizzard games. Makes me wish they would make an actual RPG.
  8. I go back and check for new NWN2 mods every once in a while, but I uninstalled NWN not too long after getting NWN2.
  9. I was lucky. I believed in Santa until an age where I wouldn't be upset that he wasn't real. Wasn't that I was gullible, it was that I just couldn't believe my parents would buy me that much loot.
  10. Well it is CG. Its done with the same process as the Polar Express. Its borderline uncanny valley. I personally think its cool. Once the technology gets to a certain point, we can bust out the fantasy casting using actors that would have fit the part 20 years ago and such, because we can just make them look young/fit/etc. even if they aren't anymore.
  11. http://www.ifilm.com/video/2880437 This looks like huge amounts of fun.
  12. Wow, considering how the badge pick up worked I'm surprised the line got that long.
  13. You had a 2 hour wait for your badges? Wow. I got in line, went up the escalator, got to the room, and they gave me my badge. Took maybe 10 minutes. This was at 10 AM thursday morning. Did you not pre-register?
  14. Kind of like this only animated. They'll be based on the Darwyn Cooke designs rather than the Bruce Timm designs.
  15. the designs are a tad different, but all in all its definitely bruce timm animated style. yeah, there was a real brief teaser on the 300 DVD. Don't get me wrong, I like the animated style they've been using for the last few years, but it wouldn't hurt to change it every once in a while. Their next one is very different. Justice League: New Frontier. The designs are all similar to the golden age versions.
  16. the designs are a tad different, but all in all its definitely bruce timm animated style.
  17. Yeah, the panels were good for the various movie stuff, but the movies they were showing were weak. Except Iron Man, which was pretty freaking wicked. I think the highlights of the con for me were the Sarah Silverman panel, the Warren Ellis panel (nearly died laughing), and the premieres of Superman Doomsday and Dr Strange. I'm also wondering when they showed the Mark 1 armor and the Dark Knight teaser, because the armor was in a crate for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and the teaser wasn't shown during the WB panel.
  18. Just got back. It was awesome and I would go back. I even got interviewed: http://www.publishersweekly.com/article/CA6463896.html I'm Kevin Davies.
  19. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070723/film_nm/reboot_dc I have a friend at Mainframe who had been bitching about how all he does is work on DTV Barbie movies. I asked him why they didn't redo ReBoot. Something about not having the rights anymore, well looks like they got them back. I like the idea of pitching 5 different ideas for the movies and having fans choose which one goes into production.

  21. I like how they point out that the watchmaker analogy is more supportive of a polytheistic pantheon rather than the single christian god. For ODIN!
  22. Anyone else going to Comic Con this year? It will be my first visit. Going this year for Warren Ellis, but it looks like hella fun.
  23. I read a report once that said that spirituality is influenced by our genes. In the study, they found that something like 90% of those who had this gene were religious, while like 85% of those who didn't were athiest. And the number of people without it are growing. I think the report said something about reaching the point where we're starting to evolve beyond the need for religion, so the gene is going dormant or something. I'll see if I can find it. EDIT: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/...-725072,00.html Haven't re-read it yet so I dunno how much of what I remembered is accurate. EDIT2: Ha, what I remembered seems to be completely inaccurate.
  24. Watched the Fifth Element for like the 50th time last night. I never get tired of it. Its not often that you see a vision of the future like that, its always either sterile utopian future, alien-esque used future, or cyberpunk. I like how its all crazy colorful with ****ed up hairstyles and such. The kind of future where you can imagine them looking back at us and saying "Dear god, look at those clothes and that hair, hilarious!" Entertaining flick too.
