  1. hershey wins more chocolate tasting contests than any chocolate, supposedly. taks Cadbury chocolate owns The states gets totally shafted when it comes to Cadbury though. No caramilk, no Wunderbar, etc. Its a shame. And who says I need a boy to share the transformers love!? :D I have so many of the cartoons I watched as a kid on DVD, so the love will be shared.
  2. Girlfriend gave birth via c cection to a 7 lb 3 oz baby girl last night. So I won't be playing video games for another couple years.
  3. Kingdom Hearts Kingdom Hearts 2 GTA III GTA Vice City GTA IV Xenosaga II Xenosaga III Dead Rising The Witcher Deus Ex Septerra Core TMNT Suikoden V Star Ocean 3 Final Fantasy XII Theres more but I can't remember. For those of you who haven't finished Mass Effect... it has one of the most satisfying endings in recent history. Ends the game perfectly while leaving it wide open for the planned sequels.
  4. What the problem is, is the models aren't quite at "Real" yet. So they're still just animated characters, but the animators seem to think they look real enough so they use motion captured facial animation and such and throw the principles of animation out the window. So they have realistic animation, on a not-quite realistic character, which just looks wrong.
  5. So you're saying that the world wouldn't be a better place if say... the guy who stabbed a sleeping passenger on a bus in the neck repeatedly, cut off his head, and ate parts of his corpse... was dead? It still bothers me that 35 passengers saw the guy do it, the cops saw him do it, and they still refer to him as "The Accused" and that he "allegedly" did it in the press.

  7. I feel the game's biggest strength were its sales numbers. I didn't find much else very compelling.
  8. The sad thing is that it was still better than IV.
  9. no. I saw that post coming from a mile away, by the way. The only one that rivals it is Xenogears, but as you already said, the 2nd disc is pretty much garbage for that one, while Suikoden II was great all the way through. Tales of Phantasia was good, but didn't realize it was on the playstation as I played it on SNES.
  10. Suikoden II is the best RPG for the system.
  11. It's really people who don't do their research before they buy something. Because as N'Gai Croal has said many times, no one sets out to make a bad game, but the end product may be bad. The problem is if that product is subpar, people who buy it feed the machine so to speak. Although who am I to talk, I bought Asassin's Creed... Me and a guy at work were discussing how if they want to make a perfect Batman game, combine GTA and Assassin's Creed and give it a Batman theme.
  12. I blame an increasingly apathetic audience who keeps buying dumbed down games. Anyway, saw the trailer this weekend and it took whatever hope I had left of this game being good and swept it away.
  13. For a while there was Jason Todd. 2nd Robin, was thought killed by the Joker, came back for revenge, beat Joker nearly to death with a crowbar, took Joker's old identity as Red Hood in order to take control of the gangs and such so he can limit their activites. Harm reduction. He's willing to kill though, and does so often. Now he's Red Robin.
  14. Marriage is overrated anyway. Congrats on the kid, but better you than me. I do feel sorry for your girlfriend. If you labor problems are any indications on how the kid is going to be like you are in for a very long 18 years. So after 42 hours of labour.... the contractions stopped and we have to keep waiting.
  15. Just about anyone could outdo Jim Carrey as the Riddler. I think a deformed guy who commits bird themed crimes, carries around high tech umbrellas, and fancies himself an aristocrat and isn't crazy is a bit much for Nolan's world. But if Nolan can pull it off he can pull it off.
  16. I say Riddler. The only Batman villains that I think would fit Nolan's realistic take are Riddler, Hugo Strange, and Black Mask. Black Mask is too new to use and Hugo Strange I don't think could carry a film. Use riddler, make him a polic cryptoanalyst on the Batman case Who decides the best way to lure Batman out for revenge is to become a criminal himself.
  17. I went through a classical phase where I established a decent collection of CDs. I got Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Holst's the Planets, Beethoven's symphonies(4 disc set), and Wagner's Ring of the Nibelung (7 disc set).
  18. Congrats man. Was this planned or just an accident out of wedlock? Accident out of wedlock. Girl I met on facebook who was into all the same sci-fi and such I was so we hit it off really well. She's currently on her like 40something hour of labour, its to the point that the dr said its possible its false labour. Contractions are like 5 minutes apart and have been so since last night, but are now increasing in duration and intensity.
  19. Girlfriend went into labour at 12:30 last night. Apparently its still early labour so it can be another 12-24 hours more.
  20. I thought the Dawn of the Dead remake was pretty good. And I loved 300. Watchmen looks fantastic so far. The approach he took to it was that since the original comic was a satire of comics, this being a movie, would be a satire of comic movies. Hence Nite Owl having the crazy Batman outfit and such. My only beef so far was that Ozymandias was badly miscast.
  21. Dark Knight was sold out, checking it out tomorrow at 4. In the meantime, Watchmen trailer hit the web: http://www.empireonline.com/video/watchmen/ and it looks fantastic.
  22. Saw Hellboy 2. Better than the first one, and I quite liked the first one.
  23. Me and a guy at work were discussing this. There was an article in one of the free papers that talked about how kids don't watch TV and the average age for a Family Guy viewer is 29 and such. And we found that while some have families and such, most people we know in the 25-35 age group tend to have a very similar mindset to when we were teenagers. We figured it had a lot to do with the stuff we were exposed to when we were growing up. The huge amount of quality cartoons and franchises that we grew up with gave the generation that grew up in the 80s a lot more of their childhood to hold on to than say the 70s. And with the 80s revival constantly renewing more and more stuff from our childhood, its easier than ever to act like a kid when you're in your 30s. Also, there isn't as much pressure from society to "Act your age".
  24. explain "fundamentalist christian" please When I say "fundamentalist christian" I tend to think of the whackjob christians like the southern baptists who protest gay funerals and such. I know not all fundamentalist christians are like that, but the bible has some pretty awful crap in it that is ok if its looked at as something to be interpreted, but fundamentalists view it as absolute fact.
  25. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto.../National/home/ So basically, a woman in Manitoba had her kids taken away because her daughter drew a swastika on her arm at school and when people objected, she supported her daughter. Now I'm no supporter of white supremecism, but this seems to be a freedom of speech issue here. Sure she's teaching her children some bad things, but thats really not much different from fundamentalist christians teaching their kids that gays are bad, or muslims teaching that jews are bad, and you don't see people's kids taken away for that. Freedom of expression is something I feel strongly about, I'm very anti-censorship etc. and despite not sharing this womans views, I believe she has every right to express them and expose her children to such beliefs. If her children aren't morons, as they mature and grow up in a multicultural environment, they'll see the flaws in the teachings. This also brings up something else that has bothered me. If someone opened a business that only catered to Japanese, Korean, Mexican, Black, etc. this would be seen as something unique and interesting, where if someone opened a business that catered only to whites, it would be considered racist and wrong. Much like if you wanted to start say a club that only allowed a female membership this would largely be accepted, yet a men only club would be decried as sexist. Why does it seem like in todays society you can be proud of who you are as long as you aren't a white male?
