Girlfriend was angry that Parkman didn't just make all the soldiers see someone else in the hotel room instead of letting them capture him. She also pointed out that the mutant hunters probably aren't going to make the "Hrmm, his dad had abilities... his brother has abilities, his daughter has abilities.... maybe he has abilities too!" connection with Nathan. They'll see him use his abilities or something first, even though thats a much more logical way to find out.

What kind of future settings is Obsidian planning?
Oerwinde replied to Winterwolf's topic in Obsidian General
Hence the BPRD setting. Hunting monsters and such for the US government in modern times sounds good to me. Set it up so you can leave and go freelance so its not so restrictive, or try to snag the rights for Atomic Robo as well and cross them over, working with him fighting wierd science stuff as well. The WW2 ones had a better art team. -
In the special features on one of the Atlantis dvds one of the writers talks about how theres like 6 sci fi stories and everything just tries to do each of them in a new way. I think it was something like 1: Aliens, 2: Time Travel, 3: Nanotechnology, 4: Virus, 5: Alternate Dimension, 6: Robots. They've even combined a few. I think really the only plot they haven't done on Stargate is Alien nanomachine robots from an alternate dimension going back in time to infect us with some crazy virus.

Or the Hearts of Steel one, where they landed in the 1800s and took the form of steam engines and DaVinci esque flying machines. http://www.brassgoggles.co.uk/images/shockwave.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x112/ng...el_Megatron.jpg http://www.cyberfembot.com/CustomToys/FrontPage/RED_01.jpg http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/transfor...of_Steel_2b.jpg -
lol. Too true. By the time I clicked on the exit door it was too late. Once the "redo your pc?" screen came up there was no way to get out of it to save. Or at least I couldn't figure out a way. I guess I'll sit through Liam Neeson's cringe inducing dialogue once more. I hope I can remember which one is the exit door before I click on it. The autosave at that point saves before you leave the vault, so if you reload that then you're good.

I think it would be cool to see a BPRD RPG. Or even better, get the rights to BPRD and Atomic Robo and cross them over. -
Too bad that chick with the built in wireless adapter died.

I think everyone should just follow the comics publisher's examples and just self rate their crap. Keep the ESRB rating scale, but rate your own crap. Anyone see This Film is Not Yet Rated? Explores the MPAA's rating system and how there are no real rules to rating, and the appeal system is terrible as you can't cite precedent, leading to ratings that just don't make sense. I can't see the ESRB being much different.

am I the only one who thinks Caprica looks totally uninteresting?

A lot of people hate the flick but I liked it, except for the crap ending. I mean WTF, they had just finished discrediting the bad guy and trapping him, then bam, back to earth and he's lincoln? what? I'm all for twist endings, but at least have it make sense.

Saw Ben Hur for the first time. Great flick. Best part about it: For an old historical epic, they didn't just repeat the theme song over and over for the music. Most annoying thing about old movies.

I wish they had managed to get the Master of Magic license. Elemental looks terrible, but if they had gotten the license I'm thinking it would have been sweet.

I'm pretty sure the only reason Tracy and the whole triplets thing exists was everyone hated Nikki but they liked Ali Larter so they made some crap up to keep her around.

Peter's powers have changed. He's kind of a one shot Rogue now. He has the powers of anyone he touches. He touched Nathan and got his flight, he touched suresh and lost his flight but gained strength. He touched Tracy and lost his strength but got her cold power. Kinda disappointing, but makes Peter less invulnerable. Anyway, I really enjoyed the episode. hope they keep it up.

Not sure I like those picks, but Brad Pitt for Murdoch is pretty inspired casting. I never would have thought of him but playing wacky crazy characters is really the only thing he's good at. I like IGN's picks for Face and Murdoch, but Dwayne Johnson as BA? No. And while I like Gerry B, not as Hannibal. Then again I can't think of my own picks.

So has anyone else seen the furor over a CBC journalist referring to the call to ban fighting in hockey "pansification". The gays are all angry over it. When I found out I was like "Um, doesn't pansy mean sissy?" I didn't even realize pansy was a gay slur as the wussy definition is the only one I've ever experienced.

Apparently theres also a Ripper named "Jack"

Considering its a mexican flick with a budget of like 5 million, the effects are quite impressive. Devil's Backbone was the 2nd Del Toro flick I saw after Blade 2. I was impressed.

Well, if Transformers are valid options I guess my avatar requires this:

anybody have any good trailers for upcoming movies
Oerwinde replied to steelfiredragon's topic in Way Off-Topic
I don't like Dragonball and I'm insulted by what Hollywood did to the movie. I figured actual fans of the show would be outraged. -
In the words of one of the gay guys I know "Theres no bisexuals, you're either queer or you're not." He was one of those that wasn't attracted to women, which frustrated him before he realized he was gay. He wanted a girlfriend but couldn't find any girls he liked. Then he realized he didn't like girls and has been a much happier person ever since despite his family pretty much abandoning him.

An American Carol. Terrible. Though the little shot of the documentary about fanatic christian terrorists was humorous. I don't know if its just my views that makes it just seem dumb when the right lampoons the left, or if it really is that dumb.

The ads were a response to a religious ad campaign that basically said that if you didn't believe in god you were going to burn in hell for eternity.

I don't know who this is, but he was the #1 result when google image searching "awesome dude" so he must be.

how's colours of chaos? i got given the white order ages ago, and from all i've investigated from everything else in the series, it's really bloody confusing as to what book comes where chronilogically I liked Colours of Chaos more than The White Order, but its really just one story split in two, chronicling Cerryl's rise from peasant boy to high wizard of the white order and his unique view on order/chaos because of his love for a black mage. From what I've gathered from the wiki, Modesitt Jr just does what strikes his fancy, fleshing things out in the backstory or moving forward, but he insists the series is best read in publication order rather than chronologically. I've only read 4 of the books, Fall of Angels, The Chaos Balance, and the two about Cerryl, and it was neat seeing how things happen in FoA and CB, then seeing the exerpts in the Cerryl books detailing the history written by the white mages about how Nylan, the main character in FoA and CB, was this horrible evil person who destroyed a bastion of peace and harmony.
