You could also look for jobs while working there. It shouldn't be a problem, right? Work there, but if something better pops up, apply for that position instead. Having a blank resume was a big pita for years for me.

Nostalgia is the biggest reason. But at the same time, the games weren't bad at the time of not being developed anymore. There were just other platforms and genres that seemed more interesting for publishers. Now that crowd funding is a thing, it was actaully possible for some developers to gauge interest in the genre via different campaigns. I've replayed the IE games, Arcanum and some more of the classics over the past three years and the games are still some of the best, even when looking for issues within said games. Therefore, to me, it is not only nostalgia.

I haven't done it yet, but I am looking forward to the Champion's League final. I kind of want Juventus to win, but at the same time, I want to see Leo do amazing things with the ball. As long as we get a great game, I will be happy.

I completed the game yesterday. I tried to think about the game in a positive way, but in the end, it is a mediocre experience. I am saying that despite the clock showing 107 hours of playtime. Not all of it was bad. Dragon fights were decent. Some characters and quests were decent. I liked the soundtrack and some decent voice acting was there. The astrariums were a fun distraction. Graphically, it looked really nice at times, so that exploration kind of fun, and there were some nice spell effects. But as a whole, I would rate even DA2 higher than this game. The combat didn't feel very tactical and I wasn't happy about the lack of commands you could set up for your party members. The game felt like an action rpg, but not with particularly great combat. I basically just controlled my own melee fighter and let the others do their thing. On rare occasions, I would manually set up a barrier or something, but that's it. I also didn't care for their "Assassin's Creed" formula with some of the side stuff: shards, mosaic pieces and so on. To me, it felt like the game didn't have an identity of its own. It feels like it didn't know what it wanted to be. Skyrim competitor? Sequel to Dragon Age? Hack 'n slash game? I'm done with BioWare for the time being. Last game I bought from them was Dragon Age: Origins and I actually enjoyed the game despite some flaws. I wanted to give Inquisition a shot, but this won't be the case for their next game.

The only Sci-Fi rpg I want from Obsidian is one that is isometric, party based and turn-based combat.

My boss called me in and asked me if i am interested in staying. Last week she told me that I was free to search for a new job. I told her that I have some job offers to think about and I couldn't give her an answer until next week. I kept the conversation very brief and left her office. I've been working double hours for the past week now. I'd like to think that me helping out like this is the reason for her calling me to her office, but it has nothing to do with that. I do have to say that the offer she gave me was tempting, but I am in no hurry to accept her offer.

As long as combat is fun, I am in. Don't care about why crap happens.

And at most 2 hours played. Sounds good to me. Now the real test will be how their customer support handles this. I have heard things.

It was a bummer to hear that Kirill has passed away. Seemed so cool and energetic. RIP, sweet prince of madness.

But ...but...you guys have Cloudberrys and Fudge Cheese, that has got to count for something? Why not suckerpunch me in the face!? I hate cheese with a passion.

If only we had views like that! We're in June and it's poring down rain. It hasn't rain this much over here since 1808 or something like that. It almost feels like living in England!

I've been saying this happens for the past 10 years. It's actually shocking that it took this long for some big guns to get caught. Corruption is inevitable in whatever business as long as the money is doing all the talking.

Tabbouleh and hummus. Sometimes, good old fashioned Middle Eastern food can't be resisted.

Playing Championship Manager 01/02 occasionally. It's still my favorite manager game around. Other than that, I mix it up with Dragon Age and Persona 4.

Haven't been around much lately. Not that much has happened or anything. Playing less games for a period was good. Lost 10kg and gained some muscle. Nothing spectacular, but it'll do. I was called in to a meeting with my boss and she told me "You're free to search for a new job". I stood up and walked out of her office.

This isn't even being made by Obsidian. If you had paid attention, you would know that the DVDs would arrive at a later date.

Final thoughts on PoE. I just beat the game on hard, playing for around 72 hours, completing every quest in the game. I played an unarmed monk (dwarf). I will start off by saying that I don't regret backing the game, but that it has its problems. My two cents: I approached most combat encounters the same way: Send in tanks and then use ranged characters to help out. Things changed a bit when I had the paladin and druid in my team, because they were used as both melee and ranged combatants. There were some fun encounters, namely the bounties and a few fights here and there. Otherwise, I just stuck to the same tactics a lot of the time. Pathfinidng wasn't always what I wanted it to be and that was my biggest fear pre-release. People expected it to be good, but I said on the Obsidian fora that it was one of my biggest concerns. It worked most of the time, but there were moments when it truly pissed me off. I still miss hard counters, I didn't like the camping supply system, and ally/enemy AI was a bit of a letdown. I didn't hate melee engagement, but it should have been used as an ability in the game. The entire game shouldn't revolve around it. I usually just stuck to the same spells most of the time and when I reached level 9-11, I used the low level spells almost all the time. I barely used any potions or food, so that added a little challenge. Party members were mostly useless as their stats were crap, but I stuck with them for story reasons. Visibility in combat was at times very annoying. Luckily, it didn't reach NWN2 levels for me. Most maps looked nice, especially those that had been painted over. On the other hand, there were some maps that looked a little rough. In general, I was very impressed with the graphics. Armour designs also looked cool and I bought stuff just to see how they looked. Voice acting was decent and the writing was also decent. Above average according to me, but not as good as MotB or some of their other games. The music wasn't something I thought about much, but the soundtrack grew on me and I have to say that I really like it. The quests were a bit underwhelming. There were a few good ones like one in Dyrford village, and some others here and there. A lot of the quests were a bit too straight forward and not super exciting. I guess it was nice that you could solve quests in different ways. As I said earlier, I really liked the bounties and they were a fun challenge. On the other hand, I was disappointed by everything else that had to do with the stronghold, barring the mega dungeon which I liked. While I don't think the combat is as good as the IE games, I still liked the character system, even if it needs to be improved. I felt like there is a lot to choose from with how you develop your class. I had Eder as a tank but I also made a custom two handed fighter that I used occasionally. The companions were a mixed bag. I didn't care much for Pallegina, Sagani and Aloth. I really liked Durance, Eder and Hiravias. The others were okay. When it comes to other NPCs, there weren't really many that I cared for or hated. Again, there were a few that stood out, but in general, I forgot about many of the NPCs after a while. My biggest disappointment is a selfish one. I was not happy to see how backer NPCs were handled. I saw mine and his sotry didn't match what I had written at all. He was a monk, that was about it. Had I known, I would have made an item. I hope that they don't have a useless reward like that for the next KS game. All in all, I'd give the game an 8/10. I prefer F:NV, MotB and AP over PoE, but then again, those are some of my favorite rpgs. I'd put it with KOTOR II which I also like a lot. (It's 2 AM over here, sorry for the incoherence and spelling mistakes.)

Nearing the end in Pillars of Eternity. Some things have happened in the game that were spoiled to me in this thread series. It was a bit of a shame that it occured, but it is not the end of the world. I'm enjoying the game despite some flaws. It's not an instant classic game or my favorite Obsidian game, but I do not regret my backing of it.

I read that the same person has done it to a couple of other projects. The person should be suspended from Kickstarter when the trolling is so obvious. Or let the devs refuse a pledge if they think it's just to there to mess with them.

Going to the dentist is a nightmare and that always happens to me. I went there yesterday and they charged $100 for basically doing nothing. I got a new appointment next month. They are robbing me blind.

I filled it out, but I was hesitant. I didn't know you were working for Zynga or something like that.
