  1. Torment's main strength comes from the writing, it doesn't really utilize the medium to it's full capacity nor is it a good showcase for it. Portal intertwines the story and gameplay very well and makes for a much more unique experience for someone who has never played a video game in their life(beyond tetris and solitaire).
  2. Just think of the possibilities if a more tactically oriented game used Geomod 2.0. The technology is crazy compared to 98% of other games and it didn't even screw up the performance or require the graphics to be super simplistic.
  3. That's the strategy part. Nothing real time about it
  4. 2008 called, it wants its manga avatars back.
  5. I'm sure the paper napkins have all kinds of doodles on them.
  6. But once you destroy everything in Guerilla, what next? Though I did love that game. Destroy these two buildings! *run into one, destroying stairs so nobody can follow* *nuke the building next door* *jump out window and nuke the first building* *FLEEE* Modders have actually created a that is like a short range flamethrower that will reconstruct any destroyed buildings piece by piece. It's really fun to blow a hole in something and then seal it afterward to hide from the EDF. Also, for a while, it fun to just reconstruct things.
  7. That even beats the old POR 2: RoMD that wiped your hard drive upon uninstallation. I liked the more sneaky Clear Sky that just corrupted its save files.
  8. They only burn if your cooling sucks. Having a nice cap on the fps is a good idea, though.
  9. They also hassled a company making laser pointers that kind of looked like lightsabers.
  10. Probably, I haven't played it for like 10 years. But tension/frustration isn't particularly fun for me.
  11. You got your anxiety/frustration all over my fun.
  12. As fun as this is, I wish someone did commented SupCom matches. Some of the replays are really awesome.
  13. I guess real men don't have any fun then
  14. According to GAF the campaign sucks, but the skirmish is awesome.
  15. While Obsidian does seem to have cunningly hidden they're contact information, it's not particularly hard to track down. SEGA is probably even easier. As for Alpha Protocol, you're honestly not missing too much.
  16. What's more mindless than filling the screen with bouncy mines?
  17. You make it sound like Obsidian and SEGA have you rounded up in a warehouse For what it's worth, it worked fine on Windows 7 64bit for me.
  18. Right, I was thinking of older stuff. Just Cause 2 and Red Faction: Guerrilla offer copious amounts of mindless entertainment.
  19. Let's not fall into that sozzy pit, it was more of a tech demo or a showcase than a game. Would have been interesting if it had been released before NWN2.
  20. What's funnier is that they actually hold the trademark for "droid"
  21. Performance on consoles isn't as big of an issue as you seem to think, but like I said before it really all depends on how demanding you are. The biggest issue in reviews so far is that it's an open world game that doesn't really need to be in an open world. A linear set of missions that can be completed in roughly 10 hours, with very little to do outside those missions. You're right, it's getting 7s and 8s mostly with a few higher scores thrown in. I think GAF was complaining about the lack of pre-load, but I'm not 100% sure.
  22. Braid, Trine, The Misadventure of P.B. Winterbottom, Crayon Physics Deluxe and Machinarium. Maybe we should just sticky this or something. Oh, also Carmageddon and Team Fortress 2.
  23. Well, I don't like forum let's plays, so there. Video let's plays work best with things like shooters/closer viewpoint/action games...where you aren't always stopping for/selling loot or pausing to give commands etc. Not that you can't do them w/other games, just harder to make it entertaining w/out a lot of editing/work. So imo there's still room for forum/screenshot let's plays. I usually like them best when they're written out like an actual story w/pic illustrations, but Tigranes naming the party after forumites is a hoot. Maybe I'm just more action oriented?
