Bethesda/Obsidian? Weirdest mashup ever. It could be good if Bethesda manages to keep their dirty paws to themselves, shame about the engine though... Oh well, at least Obsidian will get lots of money for their independent projects!

Some of the driving stuff can be annoying, but that's pretty much the same in every GTA. You will luckily get better cars pretty soon.

Hasn't anyone played Mafia? It's a really good game with an excellent story

X-Men Legends 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance question
Purkake replied to Arkan's topic in Computer and Console
What? Don't those games have their own forums? This seems a bit specific for a (mostly) PC RPG forum... -
Godfather 2 is pretty much a movie license game. It also has some strategy stuff. Mafia is a GTA-style open-world game.
-
I'm sure at least some of you have played Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven if you haven't look it up, it's pretty good. Mafia is pretty much GTA set in the 1930s with an actual story and less random violence. So anyway this thread is about it's sequel Mafia II, coming (hopefully) this fall for PC, 360 and PS3. They have just released the first gameplay video and it looks pretty good.

Yeah, sorry there used to be 3 at one point(character, strategic and adventure), guess they changed it.
-
Oh? Is it public or just for them to use, if you know what I mean? If it's public, and you remember the name, I'd be interested in knowing what it is. It's called Yammer. Also:

There are three camera modes, one of them allows you to rotate it. Change them with the * button on the numpad.

Whatever floats your boat, to me the combat was horrible and plagued by bad AI, non-existent pathfinding and generic "let's do it like Gears of War" cover-system.

Yeah, there is a twitter-like thing for companies, I don't remember what it's called. It's an awesome solution to the typical email spam in you average office. That's what I meant by the "interesting uses" thing. There was a bunch fire stations that used it for coordinating training and stuff. As for the twitter vs. IM, I see it as public vs private. You use facebook to find people and see what they are doing without having to hit them up on phone/IM. You can talk to people on facebook etc. but I don't like it's public nature. I'm sure it's great for twitter to go "mainstream", but I don't like the people who only use something to be "cool", damn hipsters. Some time ago twitter pretty much only had the tech people on it and it was a bit of a community, now it's all over the place with spam and whatnot.

So the game will be slightly easier after you have already played it? Yay?
-
Well, like I said, I can see it for keeping up w/family or something, but then, I can do that with email lists, blogs, the phone, and tons of other "social sites" as well. I'm not sure we need another one. I don't see anything different about Twitter. I'm not trying to say "if you like it you're a dufus" but I personally don't see it. And of course getting "followers" isn't important, just like "friends" on myspace means jack. Twitter is pretty much the facebook status thing without the other stuff. That's what it's good at, that's all that it is. It has a lot of interesting uses, but for the average person, it's no more useful than facebook. If it's not for you, it's okay. I was just trying to say that it has it's uses.

Reminds me of that "modding was better..." thread.... ...unless you mean it's going downhill because mainstream = there are too many posts for a sane person to follow. That's pretty much what I meant, too many people coming in just because it's the next big thing and not because it's useful/whatever. It doesn't really do anything if a bot follows you, so who cares? To find people to follow try Wefollow.com to get started. Also, Obsidian has a twitter, as does JE Sawyer. Also I would recommend Felicia Day of Dr. Horrible fame if you want to try out some of the more popular, but still cool people. She also wrote a pretty useful guide to new twitter users EDIT: Oh and (to me at least) twitter is more about keeping up with people/news than expecting to get people to follow you. Don't feel obligated to write stuff for it all the time. Most people use it to comment on other people's tweets than writing stuff themselves.
-
Facebook is good for keeping up with what your old schoolmates and acquaintances are doing. I don't get why people feel like they have to have a myspace/facebook/twitter account. If you don't like it you don't have to use it, nobody is forcing you. Just because you don't like it/don't see the point doesn't mean that it's bad or useless. EDIT: Twitter is also quickly going downhill now that it has reached the mainstream, once the Britney Spears's of the world come in, it's time to bail out.
-
The trick is to choose who you are following. There are tons of idiots who tweet stupid things like you have said, but there is also a lot of quality content. For example it is way better than RSS feeds at getting cool news. It is pretty much an information filter. It's nice, clean and simple. 140 characters is enough to get your point across, but short enough that people can't write whole pages of pointless crap.

I used to play a lot with ATARI BASIC and MS DOS so it's absolutely no problem for me if i have to go into terminal Dos is/was awesome, but I still dislike the Linux terminal...
-
So it's the Heart of Fury mode all over again. Playing through a game again with the same character, but stronger enemies(more HP, 2x damage) is the stupidest thing ever. It's still the exact same game... That stuff only works in Diablo...
-
This. After you finish it, there is really NO reason to replay it. None. Funny you say that as it's one of the few games that I instantly started over with. The only games I have instantly replayed have been Half-Life 2 Episode 1/2 and Portal and that was because of the commentary. When I was done with Mass Effect I didn't want to see another Geth ever again.
-
Well, what's important is that you can play it now
-
No idea, check with the store? Play MotB it's the best. EDIT: OC is just that, the OC, MotB is kinda like PST and SoZ is like Icewind Dale...
-
It's the Island of course! But that would be too easy... Maybe the Dharma mass grave?
-
I never thought I would say it, but maybe consider the 360 version? Even the... less savory methods include installing securom at first.
-
Maybe they needed to collect money for all those plane tickets and I'm sure renting a van isn't cheap either
-
My bet is that it's the real Dharma, as in the ones who invested all the money into building everything on the island. What were their names? Hanso and Degroot? edit: that dude's name is Bram. That would make sense, but why wait 20 years?
