You can't soar to the skies if you've got the hundred tonne ball of dreck that is 4E chained to your ankle. I can dream, can't I? Maybe some MMO company will buy the 4e license and WotC will be so desperate by then that they will also sell off their GOOD licenses that they aren't using anymore.

Maybe this is Atari's final dying breath. After that it will die a beautiful death and from it's ashes the DnD license will soar to the skies, free at last.

NWN3 will be actually a MMO
Now all we need is for Deus Ex 3 and Thi4f to be MMOs.

Scribblenauts
Scribblenauts is basically a 2D puzzle game where you solve the puzzles using items you can summon by typing their name. For example you have to get a star that is on top of a tree. You can type in "ladder" and use it to climb the tree or "axe" to cut the tree down or "jetpack" to fly up and grab the star. You could also type "flamethrower", "mech" or "fighter jet" and blow the tree to pieces. That's the basic idea, the only limitations are dirty words, licensed stuff and nouns only. They have "tens of thousands of words" and the items act like they would in the real world eg. you can chop with a sword, throw a ninja star, a lion will eat a rabbit, a toaster will cook bread etc. Here are some gameplay videos: Gametrailers E3 gameplay And a preview from Joystiq It will be out this fall.

Just Cause 2
This one's more of a "run around and do crazy stuff" than "go to point Z and get story mission". I recommend just checking out the parachute and grappling hook stuff, the story or combat aren't really good. Well if you say story and combat isn't good, then it's not worth checking it out at all. It's not, but it's also the demo sou you probably wouldn't get any story there. If you are interested in how the stunt position, parachute and grappling hook stuff worked in the first game then try the demo, otherwise wait for Just Cause 2.

Germany bans violent games
Of course they do. At present, they're a highly commercialized and undeveloped art, but still art. I agree, you just didn't specifically mention it in your previous post.

Germany bans violent games
Since chess is such an abstraction why can't the "defeated" pieces be considered routed or incapacitated instead of killed. There is nothing to suggest that they die, they are just out of the game.

- Germany bans violent games
I'm sure it's not easy. But the real question here is: do you want the government to take over the parenting by not just letting the stores sell these games to kids(which I'm totally ok with), but actually banning them for everyone?- Germany bans violent games
The difference being? Saying its never ok to kill is naive. Given the right (or wrong) circumstances, killing can be a moral obligation. I'm saying that it shouldn't be taken lightly and that you are ending another human being's life permanently. I may be forced to do it(in the army etc.), but I won't feel good about it and wouldn't do it if I didn't have to. My point is that you should feel bad for doing it, even if it was necessary. - Germany bans violent games
