It was more of a bunch of cool levels where you play like at least 5 different characters that might have had a vague connection to one another. HL2 is a story-driven shooter if there is such a thing.

I remember something about nukes, the Russians and monochrome Chernobyl. Mostly I remember shooting things and stuff blowing up, does anyone really care about the story in these games?

Played the L4D2 demo as well, didn't really like it all that much. The aiming feels off for some reason, I'm sure it's fun with a bunch of friends, but otherwise not so much.

Compared to the rogue, the mage specializations are really off the wall and weird. I would have prefered an elementalist(damage dealer), crowd control(area spells) and a mind control thing.

You seem to attract bugs like honey attracts flies. I can't remember the last time I had trouble getting a game to work or ran into a game-stopping bug. Maybe an exorcism of the PC is in order?
