  1. I'm getting tired of the whole Deus Ex worship which came along with the release Alpha Protocol for some reason. Yes, DX was a good game, better than the sum of its parts, but it's certainly not the one and only game to judge every other game by.
  2. Looks like Volo brought all his friends
  3. So he didn't like it?
  4. Sorry, not really into the whole AP business.
  5. When you talk about your product like it should be sold by the kilo, shovelware is the first thing that comes to mind...
  6. I'm sure they had a good reason.
  7. Heard this from other places as well, might be worth a try.
  8. I concede that it's a bit of an extreme example, but those usually serve best to illustrate a point. Hellgate was an ambitious RPG that was (is) indisputably flawed and got bad scores and a bad rap. Yet despite that, I was able to carve out an enjoyable experience for myself by not relying solely on what was presented on screen, but instead, using that as a starting point from which my own story could take off. Had I focused only on what was presented to me, I would have found a mundane main story, and a glitchy game. As I said above, I think doing this is especially key in the realm of RPG's, and it struck me that some of the people crucifying Alpha Protocol might have benefited from keeping this in mind. Taking the focus away from Alpha Protocol for a moment, because I haven't played it. Hellgate was a failed Diablo clone, yes it was somewhat ambitious in its scale, but that doesn't change the fact that in the end it failed miserably on multiple fronts including the online part which was arguably the main focus of the game. Having a great idea isn't worth anything if you can't follow through and being able to ignore all the flaws in a clearly bad game doesn't make the game any better.
  9. Using Hellgate as an example is not really helping your case, buddy.
  10. I bought it on Steam, would you have any knowledge as to how that works? Steam refund policy EDIT: Curse you Worst!
  11. I think the real question we should be asking is: does AP have a Ravel incarnation somewhere in it?
  12. Hmm the video review was pretty bad and NeoGAF isn't too hot for it either... Oh well, back to Max Payne 2. EDIT: Not really a review, but the Giant Bomb quicklook is out as well.
  13. Medieval II mixed in with some Max Payne 2, love those sweet voice overs.
  14. While the big titles do tend to get better scores than they deserve most of the time, I find that the mainstream review sites are pretty good at reviewing the smaller name titles.
  15. Bookend? Paperweight? Dust collector? I kid, I kid...
  16. Monster Hunter Tri
  17. NeoGAF bringing the gif goodness once again:
  18. We have to contain the snark before it spreads to the other boards, quarantine the whole AP area, get hazmat in here stat!
  19. After having followed the Giant Bomb endurance run until the end(minus the epilogue), I have to conclude that the story is pretty good if suffering a bit from the crazy Japanese-ness, but that comes with the territory. The combat and boss fights looked horrendous, but that's why you have let's plays, right?
  20. It actually looks quite a bit like an Estonian cellphone number...
  21. Not my idea, but the show is a surprisingly apt analog for the final episode, you either let go and accept that LOST(and life) doesn't have any straight answers and find peace or keep hanging on fruitlessly looking for answers that aren't there. Not trying to excuse the ending, but it is a pretty interesting thought.
  22. Considering that they are makeing Asteroids and Rollercoster Tycoon movies, a Mass Effect movie sounds perfectly reasonable.
