  1. You raise a good point but almost all those things you mention are class and social barriers and those I agree can create issues in a relationship. But if you take all those things away and say that you partner is a different race then there is no reason you can't have a relationship?
  2. I think you have missed the point of the kids video. Firstly its irrelevant in the struggle for equality if interracial relationships have been televised for the last 50 years, we can never have enough discussions or condemnation from any source opposed to bigotry. Until bigotry doesn't exist anymore there will be always " a fight" Now back to the video. For me the whole point is to show us just how silly and irrelevant racism should be. For exactly the reason you mentioned that racism is taught having kids give there honest opinion highlights how when people are not indoctrinated with a certain ideological view they see no issue with something like an interracial family. The kids aren't confused with the nature of the question, they are surprised that people have an issue with interracial families. And that's something that hopefully resonates with people who made the controversial and racist comments originally about the advert.
  3. That's a good question and something I never heard about before. Are you saying you could have a baby with Aerie?
  4. I don't really get your point? The reality is the advert did cause many people to make racist comments as they are opposed to interracial families. The kids response shows us many people in the USA have no issues to interracial families so the kids video is a relevant view in the fight against bigotry.
  5. You are a soldier Woldan, you need to be strong !!!!
  6. Wow that was one of the most brilliant video's I've seen in ages and very heartening to see how kids condemn racism Those kids were really cute, especially the little girl with the green shirt and the freckles. She made some of the most adorable comments like "racists are stinky bullies", "stand proud by who you are " and " we won't hang around with racists because they mean and nasty "
  7. Guys please no more gun posts.....plzzzzzz You gun lovers should start your own thread as there seems ample support for it where you guys can post pictures of who has the biggest peni....I mean gun
  8. I get the view that SR3 is fun, but I don't understand why people didn't want to explore the much more believable city in GTA4? I suppose SR3 had loads more side quests and those help motivate you to travel around the city
  9. I welcome any potential news about a new RPG franchise from a company as prestigious as Bioware but we know so little about this game I'll hold back my enthusiasm until we know more
  10. You naughty boy Baba, you should be using IE and you wouldn't be having these issues
  11. Um ... sure. .... No ... too easy. I'll let just let you continue to make yourself look foolish, you're doing a great job btw. [covers mouth, trying to conceal smirk] He was just joking CrazyPea. No need to take it seriously Believe me, I'm not I can't, it's hilarious - hence the laughter and the smirking Yeah, Cultist also makes me laugh
  12. Pledged for $100. Sounds awesome! You are a good person Hurlshot but do you think that will make a difference? Did you read some of the negative comments from people on RPGCodex, wow. You talk about being unsupportive
  13. Um ... sure. .... No ... too easy. I'll let just let you continue to make yourself look foolish, you're doing a great job btw. [covers mouth, trying to conceal smirk] He was just joking CrazyPea. No need to take it seriously
  14. And more money, too, perhaps? Yes they asked him why doesn't he perform any miracle to show people he is Jesus. He said in about 5 years he will be able to do this but he needs to be more aligned with God More aligned with God? If he's the son of God, how much more aligned than that can he get? Also, what's with the specific timetable? Is there some some sort of workout regimen for gaining divine powers: You see, the ability to walk on water generally requires a 9 month training course. Turning water into wine only takes 3 months. However, raising the dead, that's a whopping 4-year course. I know guys , I know . I am not a religious person but if I was I would also question his claim
  15. Never heard of him and probably 99.99% of Australia would be with me. Not sure where you're getting the 'attention of western media' from. From your link, he appeared on a trash tabloid tv show (A Current Affair) in Australia two years ago. I stopped right there. Everybody in Australia knows that 'A Current Affair' and it's rival 'Today Tonight' are like the National Enquirer, but instead turned into a 30 minute TV show. Unfortunately he is Australian and lives in Australia so even though I can empathize with your guilt and shame you need to take some collective responsibility This is second or third time I have heard about him on Sky and CNN and this time it was a live interview. The last time I checked both Sky and CNN were major sources of Western media so that's where I get the 'attention of western media' from
  16. You going to have an amazing time. In France you'll experience some of the best food in the world and loads to see historically and culturally. Though I did find Paris very expensive. What are the things you enjoy and maybe you'll get some suggestions around that?
  17. Yes they asked him why doesn't he perform any miracle to show people he is Jesus. He said in about 5 years he will be able to do this but he needs to be more aligned with God
  18. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_John_Miller Normally I wouldn't make a post around what I think is nonsense but this guy Alan John Miller is getting attention from Western Media. And I've just watched an interview with him on Sky News so he must have some real interest. Anyway during the interview on Sky he mentions that the bible and the view that Christians have on God doesn't represent the truth. During the interview they call him Jesus and I found the whole thing quite strange but he clearly feels he is Jesus Christ?
  19. Then I can wholeheartedly recommend you the book ''in Stahlgewittern'' (Storm of steel), the enthralling diary of Ernst Jünger, a (slightly fanatic) German troop officer in WWI ( ISBN 0-86527-310-3) - yes, there exists a translated version of this book, I think Amazon international sells them. One hell of an exciting book, he served in WWI from the beginning to its very end. Bruce, whats your second language? There exists tons of good German literature so its definitely a language worth learning. I'm a lucky bastard and can read manuscripts and books written by both sides of the conflict. I have the English version of that book and its brilliant, in fact that's the only book I have that shows a perspective of a German infantryman in the First World War. You can see it was the Germans who started the concept of small groups of highly skilled men who could navigate the trenches quickly and with deadly impact. Also in the version I have in the notes at the end he mentions how he was contacted years later by a Scottish soldier who his division faced during the Ludendorff Offensive and read his book. Really interesting. There is another famous English translation book called "A fatalist at War" by Rudolf Georg Binding that's looks very good But you are right, I should learn German as I am denying myself some good reading material. You are fortunate to be fluent in English and German. Afrikaans is my second language
  20. Yes, there is a fairly negative view on people who are in the Porn industry if reread the discussion
  21. Okay I'm not sure how to take this. Was there a "previous member of the porn industry" requirement before posting here that I didn't know about or do Avelone, Urquhart, Sawyer, et al have a much more varied career than I first thought looking at their public CVs? I do think its judgemental to look down on people who work in Porn industry. Are they breaking the law? Also Porn actors provide an important service on different levels. I understand the moral view people have of the porn industry. And I wouldn't like my 22 year sister doing it as a career choice but I would absolutely support her if she understood the risks and wanted to do this. ( Plus I'm sure I would get to meet her friends ) Just so I'm clear what is the issue people have with Porn actors?
  22. Sometimes those unspecific road trip destinations are the best, I like the way your husband thinks
  23. I understand how you communicate with people and I think its great but that doesn't change the fact its weird to see you and Hurlshot at odds with each other. I suppose I hold you two to a higher standard than most us. I seldom see you guys getting annoyed or insulting people and you don't seem to get emotional ( of course this doesn't mean you don't have these feelings but your posts don't demonstrate it) Which is ironic, really, because I'm a total wanker. I still love you Walsie and I enjoy your emotional antics that at times we see. This is what adds character and I feel your good far outweighs your bad
  24. This will change when you have a job or at least a sales orientated job. You can't SMS customers to make appointments or discuss prospective deals or meetings
