  1. Gorthfuscious dont you feel like an absolute failure when you consider the state of global warming and you ask yourself the important question " what have I done in my life journey to help prevent this " ? And there are lots of things you could have done like join these militant greenpeace organisations and declare war on oil refineries and mining companies ....but sadly most of us have become armchair and internet forum activists The world has become a sad place and I just dont know how any of us wake up and get out of bed because of all these historical failures....well I mean apart from waking up to have a delicious breakfast, meet friends or family and do some gaming....I mean apart from those reasons " how do we get out of bed "????
  2. You not nitpicking at all when its comes to correct definitions of things especially if the debate is partly about those semantics Lets see if Gromnir responds and I always appreciate his legal insights ....just as long as he doesn't tell us the US is " not a Constitutional Democracy " https://www.intellectualtakeout.org/article/us-democratic-constitutional-republic-and-yes-it-matters/ Gorthfuscious dont let these liberal, legal, jedi mind tricks fool you when it comes things we know are true...facts are facts always But this link aligns more with your definition that its a "democratic, constitutional republic ". This debate becomes more confusing with each link
  3. QFG4 is definitely a point and click from its inception. I do remember the first time I ever play a PC game at the end of Apartheid and it was in 1988/89 and it was all the early Sierra games like KQ1 and HQ1 and you had to type your commands, they werent point and click It was such fun but understanding the mechanics was very difficult in the beginning, especially the actual typing and effective commands. I remember we didnt understand " short and defined " commands so we would type " talk to the witch about the princess " and the game would say error ...dont understand word " about " We realized later on the correct command is simply " talk\ witch\ princess " or something similar
  4. Comrade I agree that geopolitics and local political realities can be confusing but I have a good idea, agree with me on basically everything around my political and economic views and you cant go wrong. Problem solved
  5. Okay but you cherry picking example of abuse in all Constitutional Democracies, irrespective of the Murdoch media monopoly are you saying that Australian citizens cant say " we hate our government and thinks its corrupt " ...you cant do that in China ? And the definition of what defines any Constitutional Democracy does matter, here is good link that defines the definition https://www.reference.com/world-view/define-constitutional-democracy-c5e47d7bb058799b But to summarize Constitutional democracy is a system of government in which the limits of political authority are clearly stated and the electorate has the power to remove poor performing governments. Countries that adhere to the political system of a constitution democracy usually have a legal framework, such as a constitution, by which to rule over the country. The United States is an example of a country with a constitutional democracy. Do you disagree with this definition and things like freedom of speech and human rights are part of most Constitutions so when you say they " not inherently part of a Constitutional Democracy " I am not sure what you mean when certain realities and rights are enshrined in most of our Constitutions?
  6. Good points raised and your first paragraph is 100 % correct, to quote Don't ruin a good rant by adding facts to the conversation. It muddles everything. Some people appreciate the power of simplicity. No choices, no decisions, no options, no thinking required, no accountability other than to your superior, just do as you're told. A surprising number of people appreciate that kind of life. Others might find it stifling. This is exactly what it means to be a citizen in China and if this led to an overall better quality of life and ended inequality I would support it but it doesnt China has massive economic inequality, in the rural areas many Chinese people living their cant even legally buy property in the cities and their are no real workers rights that enforce things like " minimal wage " So China has a trenchant and established economic hierarchy but I accept that most Chinese citizens are happy and content with the system...but that doesnt make it even remotely a system of government I would support or will ever replace the success of Constitutional Democracies
  7. You cant really compare how the CCP runs China through its own laws and policies with issues around how in some US states they foolishly still think marijuana is illegal You still have many Constitutional rights enshrined in the fabric and psyche of US society that are immutable and would require serious legal Constitutional changes before the US became anything like China Lets keep it simple and tell me how these things dont exist in any Constitutional Democracy that include a free media freedom of speech ability to criticise your government the ability to actually vote ...you get to decide who you want to run the country transparent courts workers rights and stimulus aid None of these exist in China so if the US has to clean its " backyard" then China needs to clean its " forest " if we are going to make reasonable comparisons like this
  8. How is it white supremacist to point out the long list of human rights abuses and societal problems in China? It is self-inflicted by the CCP and real unless you personally dont believe in freedom of speech, independent and transparent courts and the right to vote?
  9. True as you have combat and skills progression in QFG so it is a hybrid But I have completed other true adventure games and didnt get bored like I did with Disco, for example Dracula Origin https://www.gog.com/game/dracula_origin?utm_medium=editorial&utm_source=gogcom&utm_campaign=20211102_vampire_goged&utm_term=EN So for me I think the setting and type of adventure game matters
  10. That is exactly what happened to me when I played Disco...I got bored and stopped But I think that was more the setting, not the genre. I am still playing Quest for Glory 4 and that is an adventure game?
  11. It always surprises me when people living in first world countries believe they are mess or dysfunctional. The fact that places like the EU and the USA have a huge problem with immigration with people desperate to immigrate their should tell us something about the question " are these countries really a mess" ? Dont get me wrong, you guys living in the US and the EU are perfectly entitled to your opinion as its part of freedom of speech which matters as its important. But the view that countries rated constantly and consistently as offering excellent examples of quality of life, hence being immigration destinations, have " bad governments " begs an important question, if you think the US and the EU is bad what do you think about Africa, Central America, the ME or places like South America? I shudder to think
  12. Thank for sharing, this is a very important story and the longevity of anti-bodies will wane. The ongoing unanswered question is " how long will they last after you have been vaccinated" and 6 months is more or less when you need your booster Interestingly enough last night at the local bar I was chatting to a guy from Austria, married now to a SA women and SA resident ,who lives in my complex and had double Pfizer in May and he went for an anti-body test this week and his anti-body count is high despite being over 6 months ago he was fully vaccinated So it seem to vary how long they last, get better and keep us updated
  13. GD...look at what you have spawned....an army of " mini-GDs"
  14. What a brilliant way to fall asleep, sleeping outside in the bush is very soothing and restful
  15. Geez I definitely dont agree with such a negative assessment of the current state of the USA, yes their are problems but its not as bad as you saying
  16. You are correct in some ways, I dont consider it a real insurrection that could have stopped Biden becoming president Their was no legal way for them to achieve that as far as I know?
  17. Its Sunday and once again one of favorite days for several reasons that include ..English Breakfast time Today Im cooking fried eggs, bacon, cheese grillers, toast and homemade potato rostis
  18. What was the most difficult part of it to watch, to me it wasn't much different to numerous violent protest or objectives that violent mobs have that I have seen, except it had an ideological objective or rather several ideological objectives
  19. How sick are you guys? I really want to understand if the fact you are fully vaccinated has helped ...I hope it has?
  20. Firstly excellent interview, I dont know who either of those guys was but I think I do recognize the interviewer? They were both very professional, interesting and well informed. The guest had a convincing way of making points and explaining things objectively and in a positive way so kudos to him. And their was no SJWism which I always appreciate nowadays Now the actual new game, its a murder mystery set in 16th century Europe driven by dialogue and as they mentioned probably similar to Disco. I am fine with that because I played Disco but didnt finish it after about 25 hours because its an adventure game and I only seem to like and complete fantasy or real horror adventure games. So for me I will definitely buy it on PC if its linked to fantasy like Quest for Glory, Kings Quest or linked to Dracula type supernatural genre but I am not sure its going to be anything like that ?
  21. I had one of the BEST days I have had since the pandemic started It started with a great and protracted lunch with my family at a hotel called Hout Bay Manor https://houtbaymanor.com/eat-hout-bay-restaurants/ Then I went home to only find load shedding at 6pm so I went to my one of the local bars called Tigers Milk to watch the Springboks win against Wales ...what a day and the best part about it was this was first time in 18 months I have been to a festive bar but now that I am fully vaccinated I am prepared to socialize again Met lots of friendly and gregarious people
  22. Its interesting because Covid is a Zoonotic diseases meaning we humans got the virus from animals but it evolved to become a human virus and not animal Now animals have got our version, which is human, but its evolved the other way to become an animal virus Interesting
  23. Geez you Nordic people are hardcore, shame Gorthfuscious I am sorry you were treated so harshly by your dad Nowadays that is known as the famous " sink or swim " approach and many child experts and child psychologists will say this is not the best way to teach kids lessons in life. I learnt the same way to swim but in a pool and I do support aspects of the " sink or swim " approach to certain life lessons and being the most beneficial and effective
  24. I think this is definitely good news in the fight against the virus, its similar to the Merck pill https://news.yahoo.com/explainer-does-mercks-covid-19-202524830.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall
