  1. Well "Knights of the Old Republic" is simply one of the set of the "Tales of the Jedi" line. Well no ... when Ragnos died the seat of the SIth Empire leadership was naturaly empty and those two wanted to became the leader. Ragnos had to fight for becaming the leader of the Sith but he feared that Naga and Ludo would create a civil war (Ragnos did a duel with his opoment) and he show up at his funeral to warm those two to not destroy the Sith with their conflicts. The biggest problem was the Republic scout ship that also show up and that was what divided the Sith, some wanted to attack and other wanted to wait and ... we all know what happened When Lucas make the prequels he made the Sith and the Jedi diferent that shown in the comics, that story was simply the way for EU to explain the diferences of what we have seen in the comics and what we have seen on the prequels. Again, the proper Sith Empired died at the end of the Great Hyperspace War. After it we have Sith cults that at some times tried to recreate the Sith Empire or simply take control of parts of the Galaxy but none come close to the Sith Empire. There was no lines that separed the borders of the Sith of the Republic, in fact there was rarely open Sith movements since that would attract Jedi attention. Ruusan was simply many Sith fractions coming together to destroy the Jedi with resulted with the destruction of the Sith (except Bane and naturaly the many Sith ghosts) and the near destruction of the Jedi. There is no Sith Empire after the Great Hyperspace War.
  2. Well from what I seen DVD drives are not considered "standart" yet. That appears to be quite true in the US since the games we have in europe that come on DVD are released in the US in CDs. Now add to the fact LucasArts itself have no distribution network in europe (most recent LucasArts PC titles in europe are handled by Activision) they really dont have much of a incentive to release PC games on DVD:
  3. There is always a cap, it cannot be removed since the engine uses progression tables and so if there is no lv 875364 enties it cannot make the character reach lv 87564. What most "cap removers" in game do is simply add progression tables for the "missing" levels, I supposed we could do it for SW:KotOR but so far nobody appeared to care to try it.
  4. With the size they take ... SW:KotOR is what? 4-5 CDs? That is about 2-3 weeks of downloading ... Share programs are not the issue, the problem is the pirate market that takes a copy and burn it copies of it and it does console games as it does music
  5. I am sorry to say your research is wrong, likely you based on some fan site. There is only one source for that time preriod, the "Tales of the Jedi" line of comics. Marka Ragnos was one of the last Sith Lords of the proper Sith Empire after rulling for 100 years (he was a Sith as in the Sith race that existed at that time) and the Sith Empire golden age (that ended with Ragnos) lasted for 1000 years so it is THAT acient ... of course the Great Hyperspace War that destroyed it was 1000 years before SW:KotOR takes place.
  6. The cost of a DVD burner is 99 euros. I seen console games images for download and I suspect as I can download a PC game image I can also download a console game image. The only console that iis "pirate free" is the gamecube since mini discs are a non standart storage medium. Also a mod chip is noy illegal, it does violate the warranty but that just mean if its broken you have to pay for the repairs.
  7. Well I taken the Sith were pretty much done at the end of the Great Hyperspace War. However the Sith had knowledge and also many of the older Sith Lords remained as Sith Ghosts that teached some in the Sith way. Exar Kun is a perfect example, a force user that was inclined to follow the Sith teaching and he was simply one of many. In order to be a Nazi you simply need to follow Nazi idiology, the same with the Sith ... in order to be a Sith you simply need to follow Sith idiology and there is always someone willing to start his own Sith Cult. The fact that at some times after the Great Hyperspace the Sith were united can be a matter of someone being openly a Sith Lord and claiming that title, I suspect the truth is even with Kun there were small groups that did not joined because he was not their Sith Lord. Funny thing is that I dont consider Palpatine much a Sith Lord in the sense of him acepting the Sith idiology, I think that Palpatine views the Sith as another tool for him to reach power and something that can be discarted if its of no longer use.
  8. However the Sith Empire existed and was destroyed in the Great Hyperspace War. After it the Sith race and the Sith Empire no longer existed, there were attempts to recreated the Sith Empire (notable by Kun) but they never lasted long enough to actually be a Sith Empire as there was before the Great Hyperspace War.
  9. That is not true, console games are as easy pirated as PC games, they just need diferent technics. Console have the rental system as a way to boost sales, many people just rent, beat it and return it as PC does not have a rental system. Also they dont have to worry as much about tech support as PC, not to say since a console is the same basic system (as there is no much diference from my PS2 ro the rest of the PAL PS2) they dont have such large QA and bug cleaning circles as there is on PC games, however the PC remains as the market with most possible sales.
  10. Costs are higher now. Take Studio Max that is 3000.00 US per license, now add electric bills of the months (if not years) it takes to develop a game, add staff paychecks, hardware costs, voice acting cost, recording studio rental and ... well you get the idea. Years ago voice overs were a rare extra and now they a near requirement. Also before going after publishers you need to remenber the publisher is advancing money at milestone marks, every game is a risk for the publisher since they take the blunt of the game costs (printing and shipping for example but also advertisement and the milestone costs) and a failure comes harder to then that to the developer.
  11. How about giving the character some unique ability so s/he is actually something special instead of being just like random NPC n
  12. Well I certainly hope so, having the Jedi Order retreating from the Rim worlds and concentrate into the Core worlds makes far more sense that the "the Jedi Order is disbanded" idiocy.
  13. They sould have set the game 50 years after SW:KotOR events. This kind of sequels tend to piss off someone when they decide who died, who live and whar exactly happened with is the same as saying to the player "the choicesyou made dont matter" with is very frustating since the precived freedom of choise and cause-and-effect is removed. This is why I am not optimist of The Munchkin Lords, many things that lead to bad games are present on this title.
  14. I remenber a lot of things that I hated, felted pain and was emotional hurt your point being what? Besides acting like a ass ...
  15. You sould, keeps the noob population low and at the same time educates people into the ultimate truth of message boards that is: "Your opinion is wrong."
  16. No, those are the Massassi that are mutantions of a Sith crew that fought during the great Hyperspace War.
  17. It just says you have bad taste and looking at your list ... SW:KotOR music is better that those lame romances.
  18. Its your imagination, Korriban was the Sith Empire tomb world. What is on Korriban is a lot of Sith lore that was burried along with the Sith Lords in the tombs, with was what the Malak Sith were digging up. The "original" sith race civilization was primitive, what is the point of seeing a buch of stone age/bronze age tools?
  19. Yes. Really there is not much, the far back we go is about the time Marka Ragnos died. And even if the Star Map was a dark side spot the basis of Sith power was the dark side of the force, they did not need any "superweapon of the week" to get around.
  20. Oh dear god ... The "secret" is just the dark side, the Sith were ruled by fallen Jedi that naturaly used the dark side. THAT is what he means ... of course in this age pretty much anything must be spoon feed ...
  21. True but some PtC classes such as Jedi Master are simply better, pre-requisits and losses many times are what balances such classes.
  22. There are epic levels in The Munchkin Lords, that much have been confirmed. I dont feel like posting "epic on Star Wars" again because I am tired of it, like it or not SW:KotOR used the d20 system and like it or not so does Star Wars d20 and there are several reasons for why there are no epic levels on Star Wars d20. Anyone who wants +20 levels on a d20 system wants a greater challange or is a munchkin (powegamers dont care as long they can have the most powerful character possible) and since Star Wars really does not gears towards that kind of high power only munchkins want to have epic levels on a system were epic levels dont exist. Epic levels were put in because of the Xbox cry babies (since OE started to work before the PC cry babies started to complain) wanted their lv 56 characters, not because the system needs then. Npw the only question is if the game aims at the party being around lv18 in the end or not, if epic levels is just to shut up the munchkins that can go around with their lv 30 characters.
  23. It depends on the joint animation, I already said that SW:KotOR simply have a head mesh and a body mesh, when you put armor on you simply change body mesh, not add the armor mesh over the body mesh..
