I always remenber the PoS engine ...
-
Well its pointless but true none the less. The market is driven by fads, when BG became a success we had a explosion of cRPGs titles and then it lowered to today numbers ... a new fad today appears to be including RPG elements on other genders.

They certainly were hinted for it even before release ...

The 1998 claim is a picture, personaly I think its just a exposed rock formation and it does not seen I am alone thinking that. http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/ark_hunt_020830.html Many years ago we discovered "the face of Mars" and later found out the probe picture was wrong, there was no "face"... just a bad quality picture from the probe of a rock formation. Funny thing is I am not avoid facts either, I linked to articles with data ... one simply shown a picture that a creationist "scientist" said was from Noa ark and THAT is faith, there is NO DATA to support that the picture is from a wooden ship, let alone from Noa ark. I can take a picture with a orb and say its a ghost but I can I prove its a ghost ... of course not because the picture alone shows a orb, futher testing is required to determine what exactly is in the picture. Here lies the diference, if I make a claim I have to PROVE IT (or supply enough data to support a theory), that "scientist" however seen a picture (of something he happened to be looking for) and claimed to be something without any type of supporting evidence and no, the picture shows a dark shadow that can be a lot of things, Noa ark one of such things if we decide to completly overlook geological and fossile evidence that continue to not support the Great Flood theory. The only person avoiding facts here is you, I stated AGAIN and AGAIN fossil and geological evidence do not support the Great Flood, I could point out several sites that will backup such claim like this one: http://www.chem.tufts.edu/science/FrankSte...lood-report.htm Since burden of evidence lies with my claims, of course you could do the same with a google search but I spare you the trouble. Oh when someone goes up there to check the shadow THEN you can argue its Noa Ark ... providing they find it really is a ship, until then you and nobody else cannot make that claim. Odd that 7 years later nobody checked ... perhaps because its better having a picture of something that look like a ship that having the same piture and several others of a exposed rock formation?

I written 10th century on the top of my head remenbering something I read about finding Noa Ark. Look there is NO scientific proof, you COULD date it and the results say -10,000 BC but you still have to explain how there is no geological evidence of a gobal flood ... if there was there would be no need to find ark to start with. And sorry the "ice" does not throw the dates, READ IT to understand why it does not. Also it fails to example why there are TWO of then, the one I linked above simply CANNOT be the other I linked. Basic you are asking me to have "faith" on something, its the same as saying "you can walk over the clift and reach the other side" and I can see there is no bridge and if I test the air I find it does not support my weight. And yes people have claimed to seen Elvis ... then again people have claimed to see a lot of things (such as the Jersey Devil and Mothman).
-
Sorry pal, you can have faith is what you want but when people ignore cold hard facts that is called IGNORANCE. Oh and guess we found TWO of then ... http://news.nationalgeographic.com/kids/2004/05/noahark.html Maybe you are talking about the one this article talks about: http://www.grisda.org/origins/07089.htm Heck maybe Noa build a fleet! Oh yes, I rather take all these decades of fossile evidence, backed by geological date over the ramblings of pseudo scientists with a agenda ... yes, we CAN date wood, not that it matters since we have long put to rest the Great Flood as a myth.
-
No we did not, we find wood that after some dating testing it was dated about the 10th century, likely it was some structure build for the obvious reason at that site. Please dont be absurd enough to say the great flood was true, the fact there are "great floods" myths that predate the original bible story for several centuries and its more that likely that the old testement is just a adaptation of such myths (that are too much similar ). And before I have to heard crap about it might be true ... sorry, if it was there would be GLOBAL EVIDENCE of it existing, one thing is local floods (since there is tons of evidence that happened) but a global one? ... no. Also its hardly a suprise the old testement used REAL LOCATIONS for its stories, but I have a old radio show that said Martians landed in New jersey and a book that said Martians have invaded England ...

Issue is that Sony is a big player and gone Blu-Ray, Sony pictures will go Blu-Ray and it seens that anti-piracy system will appeal more to the studios making HD-DVD a less appealing system. In consoles the line was set but it gives the PS3 more points since as Sony will likely push Blu-Ray movies and Microsoft does not Sony advantage (since Sony have Sony Pictures and MS dont own any movie studio or publisher). The PC, Blu-Ray again have the anti-piracy system that appeal to the publishers and the issue of games does not exist since the standart still is CD and not DVD, it might drive prices up but likely by the time DVD becames the standart Blu-Ray players will be cheap and then we have the whole DVD movie player angle. Actually I think Blu-Ray is not as "not cross compatible" as its being said, after all the PS3 is backward compatible with the older Playstations and so able to play games in both DVD and CD format.

But as I said, does the tension builds and is maintained? Its easy to create a trainer with the high points ... biggest issue I have it runned like crap, if its something that requires tech only avaible 6 months after release to prove a smooth experience it does not matter it have the right build up of tension and horror since the poor performance of the game will ruin it ... just like watching Psyco were the sound fails and shutters and the screen pauses, cuts and jumps.

http://www.unitedstatesaction.com/nuclear_...and_fallout.htm Radiation poisoning would also be a factor, remenber Chernobyl and its long reaching effects. and: http://www.the-spa.com/jon.roland/vri/nwaos.htm And you have to take their word for it since only way to prove it would be to create a gobal fallout effect, some dispute the nuclear winter claims but then again we have people disputing evolution. "Edited"
-
Its expected, there was enough nuclear testing to determine the fallout effect. Of course the only way to be sure would be to create one but I doubt we want to be wiped out just to prove someone wrong ...
-
The problem is not flawed... you see we HAD a nuclear winter of sorts when Tambora exploded and since the dust blocked the sun for weeks there were drops in temperature that resulted in a uncommon cold weather that lead to failed crops. Source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A781715

Rag doll mechanics ... the mouth MOVES and I was not expecting that. Its pretty neat and I found it more scary that what was in the game, then again I played SH and pretty much all horror games after midnight with the light off so it takes more that "blood n` gore" to pull a reaction from me, yes the corridor part was wierd and made a impression but things remain to be seen ... after all I seen games that started pretty well and end up as rubbish midway. The question for me is IF they can keep the tension of the game and not made it end up like some action gore fest that relies on blood and gore to make a impression on games, such things are nothing but cheap tricks.

Its not just what she does, its what happens. At a point you see the guy over a corpse sitting on a chair and he just vanishes but the corpse starts talking when you get close by!
-
Well no, they are just trying to find the question to 42. (Anyone can get this reference?)

FF XI is a MMORPG, Square is a console developer only (the PC versions of FF VII and VIII were ported by EA).

I played the demo (runs like crap) and things are wierder. Those soldiers are clones, they are commanded by some guy that was told by the girl to "kill then all", its some wierd project were the clone super soldiers are connected to their CO or something (just a excuse to say "kill him and the troops stop") and there is some connection of the little girl, the soldier we play and the guy that gone nuts. I do hope they improve performance, I know a FX 5600 is starting to be pretty dated by now but that is not excuse to see the game set on the lowest settings run like crap.

PS3 maybe has Mouse and Keyboard support
Drakron replied to kumquatq3's topic in Computer and Console
The issue is USB ports allowing it or not, PS2 had the USB ports that allowed Mouse and Keyboard. And franky the "online" thing that Xbox claimed had a large issue, Xbox Live services were not always avaible since its a closed network, the PS2 used a open network (and likely so will the PS3). As for the ones claiming about "western publishers and developers" ... well console developers have tradictionaly come from Japan since its were the console market really developed and so were the quality console games are likely to come from. Of course the only people that talk about "western developers" tend to be Xbox fanboys that only say that because the big names in console games sticked with the PS2 due to the poor sales of the XBox in Japan (that is the largest market of console games), we can hardly blame then since its were their market is. -
Kinda hard to get respect for a cause when the cause members are involved in grave robbing and vandalism.
-
Does not matter, sales are always weighted with published games. Personaly I think JE had the right concepts at time (you sould check out early interviews) but they either run out of time or decided to water down for the casual gamer but that just turned the game into a niche market.
-
In the end its does not matter what Volourn thinks, as said 500,000 sales are pretty disapointing on a console title, expecialy considering BioWare usual sale numbers.
-
You know, there is a saying "'don't bite off more than you can chew" and this game is a example of it. It tried too much and so it failed, it sould serve as a warning.
-
Well with due respect FF X suffered from translation issues, I think a lot of hidden meaning was butched by the translation or its was simply not "got it" by the players (like the word Aeon). Of course we had FF X-2 that was just fan service.

They are the same as games based on movies.
