  1. For the GPU enthusiasts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spZJrsssPA0
  2. It's also not meant for distribution in the west.
  3. Do you really believe that or did I miss a joke? They even managed to quote Irving in that article.
  4. They do work but predictably they are discriminated in the job market. Given equal social security it's no wonder some will prefer it to seeking employment.
  5. That's not always the case anymore. Some newer games scale badly with resolution and won't provide playable framerate on lower-mid GPUs.
  6. All they had to do is pretend for one day that terror doesn't work. And we couldn't do even that.
  7. The only thing sadder than terrorists winning is the political opportunism this attack will spawn. Or has already spawned judging by this thread.
  8. Similar requirements to Assassins Creed Unity. Not a good sign.
  9. I heard this argument a few times and I never understood the logic behind it. If 'assault rifle in every home' didn't turn back US army in Iraq and Afghanistan then I think it's safe to say that civilians cannot oppose modern military forces in open conflicts. That's why people turn to terror for their violent policy changing.
  10. There is no need to pull 'creative' card to find holes in your argument. Original Tomb Rider was very successful and serious case can be made that it was both better received and more profitable than the reboot.
  11. Not standing idle is far off annexing territory. During the orange revolution Russia managed to restrain itself and eventually Ukraine peacefully flip-flopped back to their sphere.
  12. The problem with STALKER wasn't that weapons don't hit targets but that AI clearly cheated. Your opponents were in no way bound by the same rules regarding bullet ballistics/grenades/emissions etc.
  13. No it doesn't. That's just a western European view of things and not always shared by other participants of the conflict.
  14. Tradition is a powerful force. This has nothing to do with tradition but with it's historical usefulness. Modern application of torture goes all the way back to Algerian civil war when it was very effectively applied by French paratroopers.
  15. The problem is not that women didn't play a role in military history but that some people twist and bend that role so they can portray it as uncommon combatants rather than victim or camp-follower.
  16. It's not so much about which skills are used but to what extend they effect the gameplay. That's why we used to talk about tactical-RPGs and action-RPGs. But that was back when RPG term actually mattered and could be defined in some way.
  17. If it held for a month then it has done it's job. Publishers care most for the early impulse purchases.
  18. I didn't say they weren't torture but that they are certainly the milder version of it.
  19. I'm all for hyperbole but your definition can be applied to any form of imprisonment. In fact mental suffering can stem from any kind of punishment. And yes - torture that rarely leads to permanent physical damage is milder than examples historically practiced.
  20. It's wasn't so much about the experience being newer but the alternatives being no better. As for RPGs - for me they started rolling downhill when the gameplay and mechanics design got 'refined'. No developer wants takes risks anymore and I fell that for the last decade I have been playing the same three games with slightly different skins.
  21. I really doubt that. Torture has been fundamental in fighting insurgencies for decades. Pretty much any country facing a serious terror movement will do the same.
  22. If PS4 was cracked a hardware application would be already on sale. Hacking consoles is no longer a simple matter and anyone managing to pull it off will be making big money on it.
  23. Pardon me for being unsympathetic but considering how little the final product has changed the whole thing has been massively overblown. Crowd sourced products have repeatedly done worse by their supporters and got away without even half the outrage.
  24. Technically singleplayer is still in. It's just forced online. But this make Elite look more and more like a glorified tech-demo.
  25. Are you sure he would actually want it? Seems to me he would prefer to get away from witch-hunts rather than invite more.
