Ramp+Grease is so much more fun than stairs

I didn't have any more patience in waiting for my water to thaw, so I did it the hard way. Filled a 50L milk can with hot water from a neighbour, undid the watertubes and pumped warm water down the tubes until it came loose, then I fastened everything back together and used the milk can to fill the system back up with water so the pump would work. Running water is so nice! Now I just have to wait and see if the water heater works properly or if I have to go rummage about looking for the overheatprotection reset.

It's polite if you ask me, it helps someone to stop themselves from wasting precious time in trying to get their attention.

Our winter here has been very much up and down, started well, then turned and thawed, went freezing cold and it's kept on rollercoasting a bit. Past week has been real cold, the forecast for friday was +7C this morning, now they've tuned it down to +5...

Yupyup, we're spoiled here really. We've got a filter for debris but there's no pollution or such in the lake so no treatment needed. Yeah, I've got two, I can't offhand remember how much they contain though, but they were all spent since we usually leave the taps running a little bit to prevent the pipes in the house from freezing, we've never had the inlet freeze like this before. In all likelyhood it was already frozen down there when we opened the taps in the house and there was already low volumes of water.

So it turns out that either my watertubes in the lake has either come undone from their weights, or they aren't buried deep enough to manage a few days with -15C temperature without a snow cover. God****ingdammit! ... That said, it's a perfect excuse to use the hot-tub every day, shame it's heated with firewood...

After quickly browsing a book on oaths in Sweden, people that wanted to become Swedish citizens no longer had to make an oath of allegiance in 1924, and politicians that took office didn't have to do it anymore on Jan 1, 1975. If I read it correctly, I'll admit that it was a woefully boring read. 😄

I think the last time Sweden put any trust in "God" was when Carolus Rex proclaimed his crown didn't come from the Church but from god. 🤔 Not really serious I'll be honest, the thought of anyone but soldiers and doctors giving any kind of oath outside possibly a courtroom is completely foreign to me. I never even came across it until I was in my upper 20's I think so I've never really asked anyone about it. I hadn't even thought about it again until I read it here.

I might give it a go then, it might bring my spirits up. I've not consumed the Shannara series in as much detail that I can probably overlook/not remember the lore misses. I have the same mind about the blight, having it be an invisible border where things slowly decayed the further in you got would give it a much more insidious punch than a line of millions with evil trees in my opinion. They could've used some of those wasted 30 minutes from the previous episode to give the blight a better showing. Having a star fort wouldn't make much difference in that case though, machicolations and "Aes Sedai turrets" would eliminate much of the need for the more complex Star Fort construction, but I was mostly doing some petty nitpicking.

I'm going to be more petty actually, thing that irked me.

I really did like the overgrown highrise buildings in the mountains in the first few minutes of the first episode, even though it more brought to mind Shannara with how "clear" it was. I do feel petty about some of the things I react at, such as how Fal Dara was presented, sure, it's a fortification, but it's also a city and as far as I recall it was surrounded by farms and such. It wouldn't have hurt them to add such things in to atleast attempt to make the world more lived in. The Star Fort design did get me to raise my eyebrows a bit though. That's a very good point, I don't have any objection in the clothing department with the exception perhaps being the serpent ring of the Aes Sedai, they're ludicrously huge. Oh, hey, there's a Shannara TV series. Can anyone tell me if it's worth watching or if it's even worse than WoT?

I took over my fathers mobile phone and number somewhere around 2000, I still have that number. Sadly, I've had to get myself a smartphone after my old one got run over by a couple of cars. Still don't have internet in it though.
