Hey people, I don't know if this has had any spread outside of Sweden yet, we're not exactly known for trying to spread our RPG's as much as our furniture onto the international market, but I thought there might be some interested people here anyway. Here in Sweden, we've always had an alternative to Dungeons and Dragons. It is called "Drakar och Demoner" or "Dragons and Demons" if you so prefer. It's gone through many editions, the favourite of mine being based in the world of Trudvang. The world is inspired by Scandinavian myths, folklore and alot of John Bauer. The gameworld is much more in style of sagas than your typical adventures, even though there is nothing preventing you from actually going for adventure style play; the world itself is magnificently suited to epic sagas. The written adventures are epics, I played through with my friends almost 15 years ago, and the memories are still well imprinted of struggling through Wildheart with my friends, and continuing on through the other two written adventures. So, guys, are you tired of Dungeons and Dragons yet and want to try something new? For a long time it's been exclusively Swedish, but now you've got a chance to try it out on your own. http://www.riotminds.se/store/

And both of them are wrong. There is no way for 1+1 to equal 1, the only correct sign must thus be "The best Jagged Alliance game"

*looks up 2017/2018 median Vancouver home prices* ...sounds about the same as San Francisco, which went over 1 million US recently as well. SF Bay Area as a whole is lower than that (600k?) but it's still just nuts and the lower priced places are tiny or run down or in undesired spots. Our postage stamp 980sq. ft. 3bd/1ba single-family, which we bought for around $575k 9 years ago (just before or just as the major US crash) would be over a million now, which I find absurd for a 9year period that includes a long market crash. Even during the height of the crash it never went below $500k. Lack of housing for population continuously wanting to live here for some unfathomable reason = bidding wars between the richer people, inflating the value in seller's/market's minds. ...salaries for higher paying type jobs tend to be inflated in metro, but if you're not in one of those lines of work, then yeah, good luck affording a decent home in large metro areas these days for most/the average worker. You save up and if the economy depresses, try to jump in before the banks start to tighten up. Or have mom and dad help and co-signers etc. ...even the rent around here is nuts (probably $2500-$3000ish for 1bd/1ba). I often wonder how all the service/retail workers manage. It's one reason ppl want the minimum wage raised a lot, but then of course service prices would skyrocket, meaning even less living affordability, etc. Endless conundrum. My mothers cousin was really lucky when he moved to Vancouver. He bought a piece of land that was a bit off from the main area of the city in the 60's or so wich turned into ludicrously attractive property now. He sold his house, bought a really nice downtown apartment and sailboat, and still has alot of money left over. Also; Helped a friend move today, got treated to pizza ofcourse, but the highlight for me was reversing the trailer(Because ofcourse ) into their very tight and windy yard with speed, precision and finesse enough to gather a crowd of neighbours and getting applauses.

I've benefitted from the honor system, getting extra hours for working, but I'd rather have a system where I can't get such bonuses and nothing gets missed than having 4 production officers trying to keep track of 130 peoples hours. I'd have an easier time understanding if I was working on the floor like the other 126 people, but I'm one of the very few people that work with marshalling (Think this is the right word) trailers and I'm in almost constant radio communications with them, when I'm not face to face talking to them, several times per day.

In may/june last year I got a salary of 24444SEK, despite being home alot from pulling teeth. This december, despite working more hours and 30 hours on sundays aswell, and having the same amount of sickday I earned 24307... I'm going to ****ing murder someone on monday.

If it does. It's not unlikely someone starts some different bitcoin thing and the mining starts again.

Hahaha!! That'd be glorius! XD ... I just realized how perfect that'd be... They'd get to see me in nothing but a loincloth. And they would've dug their own grave! :D EPIC!

Also verboden ;_; No evil races... So, no fun basically.

Haha! Not to far off actually, I wrote an angry letter to the lotteryinspection(Subgroup of the Ministry of Finance) office demanding they do something about it. The reporter had looked for people voicing complaints about lootboxes, so she looked me up. Yeah, so do I, and I hope you get through it aswell. Don't think I'm going to get that money, there is no way for me to prove it since they won't allow me to access the security footage to prove I was there during those times. I'm going to the union to start pushing them to get a punch clock, because having the bosses **** up our wages (Not only mine...) each ****ing month is getting on my nerves. Theme is LotR, no orcs allowed
-
Huh, damn. Got contacted by Swedish Radio and I've been asked to be interviewed about my critique of lootboxes. Don't know if I have time for that, and I don't know if I have enough meat on my bones to not make a fool of myself.

I'm seriously pissed at all the bitcoin mining going on. It's making it pretty ****ing annoying when you're (STILL! ) in the market for a bleeding gpu...

I'm having similar hardships, **** keeps piling up at the moment, ontop of that I'm getting stiffed out of overtime pay by my bosses (I'm talking, literally, several days worth of overtime I did). Atleast I have thursday and friday off. Got a letter today from an old hopeless crush I had. She's getting married and wants me to be there. Don't know if I'm happy or sad about that. I'm really annoyed that it's a themed wedding though, I really don't have the energy to dress up.

You're right to criticize their product if you're not pleased with it, but it's a poor comparison you're making, that's all. If I remember correctly the budget for Skyrim was twenty times that of PoE - that is a huge difference especially when you do factor in that PoE systems are much more complex. As far as modders and patches go, Beth$oft takes modders improvements and toss them into the game quite often and utilize it for their own patches. Though I do find myself questioning, if you're not using mods for Skyrim, why the hell are you even playing it? =P Edit; Added quote. Now, I'm off to the gold mines.

Probably Obsidians forum code staying true to their form I do find it a bit unfair of you to compare the resources of Obsidian and Bethesda though. Beth$oft has alot more money behind their development than Obsidian has and doesn't make nearly as complex games, and ontop of that, they have millions of fans, out of wich thousands are modders that has worked with their engine before and that has continued to make stability improvements over the 5 years time difference between the different games - I'd find your comparison more valid in 5 years time and if Obsidian got a few more millions of dollars for QA.

Really? I think it's more or less a neverending stream of pats. Like a cow. Or, rather, a bull's ...

My father has/had some sort of inner ear problem, some sort of crystal formation in the inner ear wich causes dizziness problems. He had alot of problem with G-forces causing him these dizziness spells and he really hated heavy acceleration or breaking, wich was sort of a boon when I was learning to drive, forced me to drive smoothly. Don't know if he still has it since he hasn't mentioned anything about it in ages. Also; Loved that story Melkathi ^^

My mother loves Fleetwood Mac, about 20 years or so ago she recorded one of their concerts from the TV and actually ruined our VCR from playing it so many times. It was a good VCR and tape though, so this took almost a year... I can acknowledge that this is technically good, but dear god, I'm still tired of their songs...

I got some beers from a bulgarian driver at work, I usually do his job for him, wich is annoying as all hell, but bribes help alleviate my irritation somewhat. I've never had any 7.0% beers before that I could drink, but these are actually drinkable to my surprise. Far from good, but they're free. Find myself tipsy, wich is bad, because I've been trying to stop smoking. Found that I forgot about that and had myself a smoke and now I feel actually drunk. On the plus side, smokes aren't good anymore, but I realised how I've missed being proper drunk. Going to have to remedy that soon I think.

The Obsidian Community all-time top 106 games - FULL RESULTS!
Azdeus replied to algroth's topic in Computer and Console
Yeah, it's a shame, I had tonnes of fun with that game. I really loved the race around the island. Keeping on your toes for that long was a bit of a challenge, and you never really knew what was going to happen. Never tried Forza, but I thought that TDU had a pretty decent balance in handling. -
The Weird, Random or Interesting Things That Fit Nowhere Else Thread

Very related; My Polish coworker has been blasting this over the two-way at work all day. -
I expect them to rail and threaten you and whatnot, but I hope you win. It's their responsibility for sending you the wrong stuff, they need to put up for their error. Had some lovely weather today. First rain, not heavy, but well enough to put a pretty decent wet surface on the yard at work, then came the freezing temperatures. I'm sure many of you have experienced black ice with your cars, but if you think that is awful? Try doing that with about 10 tonnes of extra weight pushing on you from behind and to top it off having to balance that **** on a pivot. I swear todays work wasn't stressful at all.
