  6. now, what's the point of tiers below $165? We help to finance the project, yet we have to pay for the expansion. Without backers there would be no game, thus no expansion...I might as well cancel my pledge and wait for the "GOTY" edition, I don't want to own/pay for half a game. Your not owning *half a game*. You will be owning a full game. The expansion is not going to be content that was cut from the game.
  7. Finally donated over PayPal Lazy Assistant of the Obsidian Order
  8. It's not really. You HAVE to think now about it to carry choices or plotlines over. Otherwise it feels tacked on or presents too much work.
  9. Yup. I also have nothing against them if they are smaller ones. Roche/Ivoreth is the example I mentioned before (which you probably saw) where I'm not too fond of it. To clarify my point about *details* from an NPC side. Alpha Protocol. Specifically how many ways the Marburg/Parker convo could end up depending on how I influenced them.
  10. You know, as I mentioned before I'm not really fond of *paths*. Path's are still linear in their own sense, even if there are multiple of them. I have nothing against them if it's multiple smaller ones that are still well done (and overlap to each other so you can mix things up). Two big paths that are vastly different take too much time and resources, and due to the big differences its even more impossible to account for everything. I want a lot more reactivity in the detail. I want to influence, manipulate charachters and the world. I want to experiment with it. Not just follow it.
  11. There's no industrialization in Eternity. It was confirmed that the technological level is around the 15th century
  12. Agree on everything. Choices should vary though between deep/far reaching and short/immediate effect. There also should be a lot of them and they should change details too. What I wouldn't want them to do is *simple* branching like Witcher 2 did it. I mean it's a novel and cool thing to do, but it uses too much resources and through that lessens the possible reactivity of the game (also ability to mix thing up). Edit: ^^^^ Like BSoda said. They should nearly all have actual consequences.
  13. I don't know the whole story with Dragon Play and Mark O'Green leading them, but Feargus took over the RPG division in 1996. They decided to build this division after they aquired the D&D licences- That must have been 1995/96, because IIRC SSI lost the rights in 1995. http://web.archive.o.../ptorment.shtml http://www.joystiq.c...k-isle-studios/ Yeah, but even though it evolved from it, didn't Black Isle count as it's own seperate entity? Could easily be that I'm wrong here.
  14. To be even more pedantic, it's only because they didn't come up with a name before. Not exactly, IIRC Black Isle was formed shortly after, though a big part from the Fallout team went to it.
  15. Oh, please don't bring the *grown up* defense. That doesn't make you *grown up* or somesuch, and that doesn't help your argument (the important part in ANY discussion) at all. It's a childish defence. People pointed out things they disagree on and alternative solutions. Work from there.
  16. Yeah. Still disagree. And I think there are a lot of people that will disagree with you on that Wasteland thing. Including the developers of the Fallout titles you mentioned. Also the IWD example is weird to say the least, due to completly different design goals.
  17. No, they don't. Party creation is a decidely old-school and popular feature in said crowd. That's naturally depending on what you consider old-school.
