  1. I've seen about 3 really bad scene's. That's 15 sec of movie. How long did the Red Ant scene take? Over 10 minutes? Not sure how that's comparible. And the Red Ant scene is just the tip, not the only bad stuff. The 3 indy movies past the test of time pretty well by using extensive use of physical special effects. Melting skin of Nazi's (Raiders) for examples still looks neat and scary. If it was done CGI than it would probably look outdated now, yes. It doesn't... I suppose this is up to taste who to dislike most as side-kick. Still something the first 3 were able to avoid. There are no german voices in the Temple of Doom. Are you making stuff up here? I just watched it... I have a hard time finding more than 3. 2 maybe questionable too, but I'll let them pass. Physical special effects really topple computer generated ones, unless it really is state of the art and million dollars like Avatar. Indy IV didn't have an Avatar GFX buget though. Result; the old 3's effects look better and more real, since they aren't crappy CGI but mostly actually effort put in special effects using physical means to recreate. I can live with bad special effects, unless they really really really ruin the mood. Like making a 30 min series episode about twisters when they look so fake, or do a 15+ min scene with abhorrent looking CGI Red Ants. A failed shot here and there; sure? But if your big action sequences falter due to the GFX, you're doing something wrong. I was kind of more talking about the wedding stuff of IV, not the conclusion of the plot, although that, too, was bad (OMG! Aliens!). 1. I have seen more. Way more bad special effects and scenes. The whole minecart scene is ****ing stupid in every I mean EVERY way. 2. Yes, its up to taste. Such as every other argument we have. I'm just saying you are giving 4 waaaaay too much crap. 3. Avoid? Really? http://www.moviemistakes.com/film652 http://www.moviemistakes.com/film651 Yeah, they totally avoided EVERYTHING. 4. I was speaking about movies in general and there were in other Indy movies. 5. I don't have a hard time finding around 20. I maybe searching on other places though 6. Wedding stuff? Seriously? That whole thing is purly. I mean purly personal preference. Sure the hat thing was cheesy as hell but Marion was intended FROM THE VERY BEGINNING of the franchise to be Indiana Jones Love Interest. I don't have the source ready but it was then changed into having a different women in every movie. Which panned out horrible. We got Annoying Women and Nazi Bitch. Both the worst thing about their respective movies.
  2. I agree Aliens was way too much but doesn't belong there this much? Did I just imagine all the mystical **** in other Indy movies? Also his heart getting ripped out is kiiiiiiiinda the problem.
  3. I like 2, hate 4. Same with my sister. Does the Temple of Doom have: * Horrible CGI Bug fights (red ants) * Sheia LeBouf (don't say Short Round is worse... no ****ing way) * As much continuity errors, like a magnetised mask whenever it's deemed necessary, but not at other times. * Tarzan scenes * Aliens * Nuking fridges * Horrible Russian accents. * Horrible fake CGI, aside from the horrible CGI bugfight. * An utterly horrible ending. And that's just what I can think up right now, probably more if I had more time... 1. It has equivlants of equally bad and stupid scenes and bad special effects. Everything that happens in the temple itself for example 2. Yes, short round was worse. Waaaaaaaay worse. Also I don't get what people have against Shia. He's semi-decent in all of his roles so far (Though many of them were written horribly), can't comment on him as a comedian though since I never saw him. 3. Yes, yes, yes. Though 4 was worse. Also the example isn't a continuty error. In fact it has nothing to do with continunity but is a logical problem. 4. 5. 6. Two pictures 7. Horrible accents check. Also an indy expertise and the expertise of the whole damn american movie industry. Don't even get me started on german voices in movies. 8. Horrible fake special effects? check. The only difference is that most of them were really decent when 2 came out. But in retrospect. Urgs. Though I also have to mention I DON'T MIND bad CGI or special effects at all. Hell I love 50-60 special effects movies. I'm a fan of early monster movies and my favourite show as a kid is Beast Wars. So take my CGI comments as you will 9. Yep. Began with the dumbass "Now I will take your heart hurrrdar" to the realization that neither the Bitch nor annoying kid died.
  4. I like it too. As entertainment. But what really always gets me is when people talk about Indy 4 like its the worst movie of all time but completly forget temple of doom. 2&4 have both equal theyre bad and good parts. Also Marion & Indy Jr. > Annoying Lady & Annoying kid ... And thats completly off-topic.
  5. DS3 related news? (or DX3) It was deus ex. Curios when the press event is.
  6. That I disagree with immensly. Its not Madureiras best work but seriously. Perfectly good comic art. Also the plot isn't anywhere near horrible especially in gaming terms and the dialouge writing is actually pretty good. Mark Hamills charachter as usual is the best one. In terms of all Action games released this gen. Darksiders my favourite. This however is incredibly true. Though a widespreed mechanic in the gerne.
  7. Wouldn't it be possible then to mod those for a semi-proffessional sound editor?
  8. I actually remember him pronouncing it correctly.
  9. C2B replied to hungry's topic in Obsidian General
To be honest I actually enjoy Obsidian games just as much as BS games For a Planescape there is a MOTB and KOTOR2 (Well, naturally what was finished of it) For a Fallout 2 (I don't really count the first a BS game as much as a Troika one) there is a Fallout New Vegas now Actually there is not a equivlant to the Icewind Dale Series yet. Tactical rpg combat hasn't been the strong suit of Obsidian yet. Even for DA2 (where still several now Obsidian members worked on) and Champions: ROE (where Avellone helped on though a Snowblind game) there is DS3 coming and it seems to have a chance to surpass both. And I'd arguee that all of these games are at least comparable to the Black Isle ones.
  10. I can't really understand how someone could prefer Three Dawg. For me personally he was the worst thing about Fallout 3 (Yes the worst). Worst dialouge in the entire game, the voice actor triea to improsonate some 90/modern radio announcer who really sounds goofy and the most annoying thing was that he nearly only talked about YOU. As soon as I meet him I shoot him. He has NOTHING to do with Fallout in every way and was in general horrible. New Vegas on the other hand talks about several topics in the wasteland (including you but very limited), is (mostly) good written, has a deep charming voice and just speaks naturally. I only tuned into the radio for his dialouge.
  11. That's exactly what they're doing. A Diablo clone for consoles. Have you even watched the gameplay videos? To be honest as of now gameplay is radically different from the Diablo 3 gameplay vids. Above from both beeing Action-Rpgs I can name a dozen games that are closer to the DS3 gameplay than Diablo. (And half of them aren't even on pc) Especially since we know NOTHING about the stat side of things.
  12. Apart from invisible walls though. I like Obsidians better. Especially the settlements.
  13. Agree on this.
  14. Is that meant ironic? Because Fallout 3 would have been so much better if they actually did that. The worst part about FO3 WERE its connections to the Fallout canon (Brotherhood, Enclave, supermutants)
  15. So, I was just checking out the gamefaq guides and saw one by "Absolute Steve". (Who usually does very good ones) Sadly the guy got carried away in the introduction to lament how great FO3 is and how NV is a DLC. I finally wanted to stop at "amazing storytelling" in regards to FO3 till I saw this I'm still loling.
  16. Somewhat agree. I still like MOTB, KOTOR2 and AP better but thats because I'm a sucker for certain parts about them. On the whole on the other hand. Yes, FO:NV is the best. Also finally AWESOME GAMEPLAY. Basically Obsidian improved the FO3 gameplay immensly. (Apart from a little hardcore mode imbalance)
  17. Daniel Vavras (Mafia games lead writer) review is up 9/10 (If it wasn't for the graphics and the engine he had given 10/10) http://translate.google.cz/translate?js=n&...s-recenze-54011
  18. He has to use his history degree somewhere.
  19. RPS Review http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/10/21...gas/#more-42293 Worst one yet and apparently New Vegas is in every aspect worse than FO3. And no not only the bugs, Everything. Also, Little Lamplight was inventive and eerie. Yes. Yes, it was. Just in a whole other way. I really really like RPS on other occassions
  20. Yup, but according to some it's worse in NV. Well, Gamebryo games are always weird. Some went through both with minimal problems/here. Others it crashed every 2 hours. There seem to be more reports for New Vegas though.
  21. Yop beaten^^
  22. A story does not need to be EPIC to be great or compelling. It does need drama (conflict with emotional value) but it doesn't need to be DRAMATIC. I meant it ironic.^^ Personally, I like subtelty in my stories/video games more.
  23. Why exactly do you believe gamespot? There are multiple other sources that say the complete opposite.
