What would one expect the current life expectancy of the GTX260 to be? 2 years maybe?
-
Quite possibly, but that's not a defense. If every RPG jumped off a bridge, would Mass Effect? No, it's more just you not having a clue. Who would have thought that having two characters with their classes reversed wouldn't result in any significant differences in the execution of those classes. Mine might not be a defense, but that's more because yours wasn't a valid criticism. On the run through I stopped I didn't level up my group, but couldn't you level up the characters differently so that they have different strengths and weaknesses as well? I was playing a warrior who only used his shotgun, so the design was built around close quarter combat.

I had been playing ME for a while. and I really like it. It looks great, and has excellent cinematic feel to it (what Bioware is good at these days), but I put it on hold for a while until I receive my new system that I can really ramp up the graphics and have a blast. I'll probably go for an adept or the adept/soldier combot...maybe an infiltrator.

He could be a power bottom. I wouldn't rule anything out, it is a dark and gritty fantasy after all. Yup. And power bottoms generate all the power. Speed is the name of the game.

You born with water on your head boy? No, just haven't been following the development closely (read: at all).

I guess that answers my question in the DA thread. I imagine DA will be available via D2D or some other digital distribution system? (I got Mass Effect from EA, so I'd imagine so).

I plan on getting this for PC. how would it fair as a single player game? Any idea on the supposed length of the game?

So, is this game ever going to be released?

Aye, Sarfy...aye.

Everything is structurally sound, as far as I know. It would be all new appliances, paint, flooring, etc. Then like I said...sure, why not. Heck, even a brand new house, people often change out the flooring, paint and appliances etc. to suit their personal tastes. If those simple things make it livable for you, you can then move in and worry about/consider any major work/changes one at a time, at a later date. That's what I was thinking. It needs a water heater, and I really want one of those tankless coiled water heaters. I hear they're great energy savers.

I know now is a great time to buy, that's why I've been tossing the idea about. My plan was to get the house, and get it fixed up before I move into it a little bit at a time. I'm in no need or hurry to move (living in an aptartment right now).

I'm really just looking around purely for interests, sake. Not saying I going to act, one way or another. But I was looking around, and there is a home near me for sale, that's in a nice semi-secluded area, yard isn't too big or too small. It's roughly 1000 sq ft. (924 to be exact). It is essentially gutted, so I would need to renovate and furnish it completely. I was just wondering if anyone here knew about what it would cost to do something like this, if anyone has any experience. Just thought I'd throw this out there while I was bored sitting at work, hehe.

Paypal is safe enough, but you should give me your credit card info (don't forget the security code on the back!), and I'll let you know.

Well, in Carbon you definitely went downhill a lot.

If this is more like Most Wanted than Undercover or Prostreet, I'll be a happy camper.

I can get Windows 7 Home Premium through my university for $30 even though I graduated in 07 I'll probably go ahead and pick it up since that's a pretty good deal.

True, but I'm needing this soon (I could possibly hold off, though), because I'm going to be doing a video project for my brother and my first niece, and since my last desktop died on me - I believe it's the PSU, but the MB could be fried, for all I know...it won't turn on, at least. I'm probably going to go with the DELL and the GTX 285 for a bit more money. One reason is that I have financing through dell, and I'd rather not plop down the large sum of money all at once. Two, I've always had great customer service experience with Dell even though I know a lot of others haven't. They've earned my money.

Re-read my first post. @mkreku: the next step up Dell offers is the GTX 285 1024MB (for +375 bucks).

Those cards are that weak? ah nuts. I'll look into the other options. The options for ram went up to 8 gb, and I imagine it would be 3 2GB sticks. There is no monitor. What kind of build can I get for about a grand? Links? I thought about the 1TB drive, but my old comp was 200GB and I never got near filling it up. It wasn't that much more though so I might still consider it.

TB = terrabyte. The next order above gigabyte

Looking to get a new desktop, and since I don't have the time really to give the attention to detail needed to build it from the ground up like last time, I figured I would get another Dell, as I always have. I was going to get an XPS system, and here's what I came up with for configuration: Windows Vista Home Premium (SP1) 64-bit, with free Windows 7 Upgrade (I don't know if I'd rather have XP or what) Intel

I might just restart as something that uses abilities instead of guns. I just got through a re-run of Half-Life 2, and first run through Episodes 1 and 2 (Very enjoyable, btw), and I've had my fill of gunning around. Maybe I'll up the difficulty to add some challenge, if it's so easy.

ramza, Since you can preorder the new windows for $50, I would defiantly put some cash down on Windows 7. Its worth the risk. If they were selling it for $199 at the start, I would hold off until all the bugs have been fixed. Where do you get it for only $50? Which edition is it? On MS's website Ultimate is $199.

So I finally bought Mass Effect. It was my second downloaded game purchase (HL: Ep 1 and 2 being the first). I kind of like the digital distribution service, although it's only been because I have nowhere else to get "older" games from. Anyway, after fixing some SERIOUS performance issues, I've got the game running with most of the bells and whistles and it's running pretty smoothly right now. I started as an infiltrator, but I was wondering if anybody had any opinions on the different "classes" in the game. Is there one that's underpowered or overpowered? Which one lets you get the most out of the game? Does anybody else like the film grain filter? I'm not sure if I do. It looks great for cutscenes and dialog, but it looks...off...during regular gameplay. Thoughts?
