  1. Last I checked, there is no "official" release date yet. I'd assume a 2010 Q2 or Q3 release date.
  2. Not sure where to post this... but something I greatly missed was ITEM DESCRIPTIONS. Please please please be sure to add this.
  3. http://kotaku.com/5256144/biowares-mass-effect-2-e3-prelude New video with some new game play footage. They don't really expand on what they did to make it "better" just the typical buzzwords (better, epic, darker etc...).
  4. One thing I found odd, was when they went to get the Bomb.... not a single character noticed that they were in some kind of Egyptian tomb. They just completely ignored it. Not even a "What the hell IS this place?":boggle:
  5. As Sawyer already stated, it does not sound like they can do much with VATS, because of the way it was coded. But maybe they will be able to get around that.
  6. There is also GhostDog's Planescape: Torment UI mod v1.0. It allows you to run the game in different resolutions. Even 1280 x 800. Just see the thread for screen shots. Very nice mod. And I'll second Quinn's Fixpack Mod. You can FINALLY get Dak'kon's fully upgraded Zerth Blade. As long as you are not a bastage to him. And a ton of other engine bugs. Awesome stuff.
  7. I honestly wish they did that in the first place. It seems like the VATS system is too entrenched to really do anything to "really fix/heavily modify" it. But who knows, maybe they might be able to pull something off.
  8. I'm not sure how I feel about playing as a Big Daddy. And the Daddy/Sister harvesting thing just seems... weird. Well, hopefully it will play out well at release.
  9. Personally, I'd prefer it if NV had no companions.
  10. This. Please for the love of all that is holy.
  11. Agreed, I'd like that as well. Also Area 51 would be very cool to visit.
  12. yay thank you The Mod Squad. As for mechanics, with only a year dev time, I just am going to expect a "much tweaked" VATS system. I don't really like VATS, but I think it could possibly be tweaked enough to make it.... more enjoyable.
  13. Hmmm so basically it is a God vs Satan thing. I like this.
  14. Thank you Matthew. I keep forgetting E3 is around the corner, and well, more will be revealed. Bleh, I'll just wait till E3 is over and then wait for more info, and hopefully trailers. Just excited for this title.
  15. I just hope that the Heterosexual "sex scene" can be completely avoided. Unless there is a Male + Male option for that scene.
  16. yeah. obsidan has done 1 quasi-sandbox game: soz. were the writing good? SoZ had no where near the same budget of say Oblivion, so that is a rather bad comparison. The writing in SoZ was far better than what was in Fallout 3. On topic: It made me LOL when people actually entertained the idea that Obsidian may try to add Turned Based combat in NV at the Bethesda forums. :cue Aerosmith Dream On:
  17. Does anyone seriously have a worry over the writing in New Vegas???
  18. A few more questions, I am just wondering about some of the mechanics when playing AP. Again, I understand if you cant answer, as you may still be tweaking this. When using grenades, I noticed in the trailer the NPC,s just stood there (since it is an early build). Can I assume NPC's will react upon hearing a grenade and attempt to take cover? Unless there is some kind of stealth grenade. Do NPC's react upon seeing a dead or unconscious body? In that, we will need to hide bodies so as not to alert the possibly patrolling NPC's? Or do the bodies just "disappear"? Do NPC's react upon hearing gunfire? In that you really want to be using silenced weapons so as not to be alerted to your presence. Do NPC's have an "Alert cool-down", in that say an NPC spots a dead body, and is now alerted that there is someone and thus is now more actively looking for you and possibly harder to take down. But over time, they then go back to the default behavior. If NPC's are alerted to your presence, is say the area you are trying to infiltrate put on altert/an alarm activated, and much much more difficult to infiltrate. For example in Deus Ex, some areas had an alarm that an NPC would use if they saw you or was alerted to your presence. (Not that sounding the alarm in DX DID anything other than waiting a few minutes for that annoying alarm sound to go away). It would be nice that if such an alarm went off, you are now penalized by say if you are trying to free someone from captivity, if you trigger the alarm, they are killed. That or if an alarm is triggered, all NPC's are now on permanent "alert" status. Anyways, that's all I have for now. Thanks!
  19. Thank you Matthew. A few more questions: You mainly get XP by completing objectives and either killing/avoiding enemies (so that stealthy/avoidance players are not penalized for not killing everything). What happens if you do a mixture of both? Say outside the building I need to get into, I decide to kill the guard that's guarding the back door. But, when I enter the building are all the enemies "suddenly" aware of my presence (due to me killing someone)? Or can I then complete the missing inside the building using stealth? Just hoping we can do both, unless, of course, in the mission it explicitly states not to kill anyone, or possibly stated do not get seen etc.. Thanks!
  20. Do you get extra XP (or something equivalent) if you actually complete a "mission" as requested. For example, in Bloodlines when you are sent on the Boat mission, you are specifically asked not to be seen or kill anyone. If you can pull this off correctly, you are rewarded more XP for doing so.
  21. Not sure if this is too early to ask, but from the few screen shots shown already, is leveling up basically, You gain a level, and then are given a few points to put in your choice of skill/skills? (i.e. Mass Effect). You possibly are still tweaking this, so if you can't answer, I understand.
  22. This is the first Bioware game I am not buying at release.
  23. The completely ironic thing is, using that song, they should have probably read the lyrics first (do a google search). I'd post the lyrics, but for obvious reasons (language) I won't. Comedy Gold.
  24. The truly sad thing is, the Marketing Department at EA has never marketed an RPG before..... And have no idea what to do. So..... violence and sex sells..... profits! I honestly really really feel sad for Bioware.
